Abstract

Utilizing technology in cultural and locally-influenced performing arts alters the conventional understanding of aesthetic experiences in live performances. It includes redefining the dynamics between performers and audiences, the impact of sound and ambience, dance and visual elements, collaboration among artists, cultural aspects, environmental factors, and temporal considerations. Furthermore, digital technology has emerged as a novel means in the performing arts realm, streamlining the artistic creation process. Currently, the field of performing arts is significantly influencing the swift advancement of digital technology. This research methodology employs a qualitative approach by utilizing internet literature and conducting literature studies. The outcome of this study indicates that digital technology facilitates the comprehension of artistic performances rooted in local culture and knowledge by both the general audience and the current youth population. The intersection between technology, local wisdom, and performing arts is evident due to the transferability of local wisdom throughout generations and the continuous development of technology over time. Digital technology has broadened the scope of creativity, pushed the limits of artistic expression, and safeguarded traditional local knowledge.

Abstract

With an emphasis on improving violin sound quality, this study explores the acoustic dynamics of the FPSD Orchestra Room at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Direct and reflected sound are the two factors that impact the phenomena of interior sound. This research emphasizes the crucial balance between sound absorption and reflection to optimize the acoustic environment and ensure clarity and richness in violin performances. Improving acoustic conditions is vital to increase audience experience and performance quality. The study used a qualitative descriptive research style combining literature review and observations. The research site was the FPSD Orchestra Room, renowned for its historical significance and contribution to music education. The observations revealed significant acoustic obstacles that adversely affected the violin sound's clarity, including excessive reverberation and unequal sound dispersion. The literature review revealed the theoretical underpinnings of sound propagation, reverberation, absorption, reflection, and diffraction. The acoustic environment can be greatly enhanced by introducing sound-absorbing materials to optimize reverberation duration, controlling reflections with diffusers, and utilizing adaptive acoustic systems. Furthermore, combining virtual acoustics technology with digital sound processing systems allows for dynamic control over acoustic parameters, increasing the performance space's adaptability. These improvements provide a customized acoustic environment that supports a variety of musical performances and guarantees the audience a clear, engaging auditory experience. This study emphasizes the significance of fusing cutting-edge technology innovations with conventional acoustic design concepts to attain optimal sound quality in performance halls. Innovation and research must never stop to improve these acoustic settings even further.

Abstract

Music creation plays a role in the art world that has existed in society for generations against human civilization and is familiar in everyday life. Various forms of expression have an idea from the composer's background and are poured into music, thus creating satisfaction for the creator. Music continues to develop in society, experiencing gradations and reductions in the creative process of its creators. This research uses qualitative research methods because the focus of this creation is how to find the implementation of minimalist music by knowing the elements of music, including its form and structure. Qualitative research intends to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by the research subject, such as behavior, perception, motivation, action, and others holistically. The conceptual framework is a method used to explain the relationship or relationship between the variables to be studied; in this case, minimalism music as a variable will then be associated with the creation of a musical composition, so it is hoped that the conceptual framework can describe the ideas that will be arranged and designed. The process of making this composition is carried out by researching using several stages, starting with analyzing literature studies. Based on the author's results in creating a composition design, the conceptual framework can be used as a basis for research.

Abstract

A vocal group is a group of individuals with singing skills united in one Group with different vocal voices. Several voice levels in vocal groups range from soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. In the presentation of vocal groups, two aspects need to be considered: musical and non-musical. Some examples of musical aspects that need to be considered in group vocals are intonation, timbre, dynamics, technique, and arrangement of works. Apart from that, non-musical aspects also play an essential role in the presentation of vocal groups. Some examples of musical aspects that must be considered are costumes, props, and choreography. This research discusses choreography in Partere Voce, where the choreography can influence the breathing strength of the singers, so vocal group members need specific singing techniques. The method used for this research is data collection through interviews and observations. Researchers participated in the competition activities so that they knew the field conditions and felt what was complained about; after that, the researchers tried to find the main points of the problem and solutions to the perceived problems.

Abstract

This essay examines the correlation between hip-hop music and Zumba, with a specific focus on how the tempo of the music affects calorie burning and the overall workout experience. The study used a qualitative approach to examine the impact of participating in Zumba sessions with hip-hop genre music, namely "Mic Drop" by BTS, on calorie expenditure and exercise enjoyment. This investigation is based on current literature and audio-visual content available on YouTube. The results demonstrate that integrating fast-paced hip-hop music into Zumba workouts can burn roughly 1,440 calories each week. It is consistent with prior studies showing the beneficial impact of fast- paced music on heart rate and perceived physical exertion. Additionally, the research emphasizes the significance of choosing songs with appropriate tempos, such as hip-hop, to improve the exercise experience and facilitate more effective calorie expenditure during Zumba sessions. Nevertheless, it emphasizes the necessity for additional research to comprehensively comprehend music's influence on physical performance and physiological reactions during exercise. This study enhances our comprehension of the impact of music tempo on exercise motivation and outcomes by incorporating knowledge from academic literature and audio-visual materials available on platforms such as YouTube. This study provides a basis for future research and highlights the potential of using fast-paced music in Zumba exercise to maximize the advantages of physical activity.
