Abstract

Adolescent mental health affected by social media is a topic that has been much debated in recent years.  The high use of social media makes these channels an important element in the process of adolescent development.  Social media is often considered to have a negative impact on adolescents.  The use of social media is considered to have a risk for adolescent psychosocial deviations, such as self-esteem, ideal body image, and adolescent identity.  In addition, social media is also related to issues regarding cyberbullying, easier access to pornography, and sexting behavior or exchanging messages of a sexual nature.  This study uses a quantitative research approach with respect to numerical or numerical data.  This study aims to find out and reveal whether there is a relationship or not and to find out how much influence there is between two variables, namely the use of social media and the mental health of social media users in Indonesia. And the results in this study are the results of the gender comparison test in social media research where men are more dominant in using social media than women, and the results of mental health are women who are more dominant in feeling mental health or mental health than men.  the results of the comparative test in the study of the influence of social media on the mental health of adolescents with a comparison test according to age are 21-25 years old, who are equally dominant in using social media and experiencing mental health compared to other ages.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the picture and how the influence of social media on communication skills in adolescents and also improve communication skills and social skills of adolescents. This research will be conducted from April to May 2023. The method used in this study is quantitative correlational with a sample of 72 students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Quantitative data analysis using google form. The results showed both positive and negative impacts of social media. Based on social media items, adolescents with vulnerable age (20-21 years) spend more time using social media than adolecents with vulnerable age (18-19 years), where there is a rasio that is not too significant at 44.95:46.25. while based on gender differencess between women and men, this cannot be used as one of the crucial factors in this context because sometimes the traits and habits between the two are relatively the same.

Abstract

Self-concept or self-concept is our perception of aspects of ourselves which include physical aspects, social aspects, and psychological aspects based on our experiences and interactions with others. Adolescents who have a positive self-concept will have clear goals and aspirations for their future. Meanwhile, adolescents who have a negative self-concept will place limits on themselves and cannot fulfill what their environment wants. Meanwhile, cyberbullying is malicious behavior that is done intentionally to other people by sending or spreading harmful things that can be seen as a form of social aggression in using the internet or other digital technologies. The purpose of this study is to increase positive self-concept in adolescents who engage in cyberbullying, and to analyze the relationship between self-concept and cyberbullying in adolescents and college students aged 18-23 years. This study uses correlational quantitative methods and Spearman's rank as a tool to analyze the data. Data is collected through a Google form questionnaire, then the data will be managed through SPSS. The results showed that rho = 0.027, which means that the correlation between self-concept and cyberbullying is categorized as a very weak correlation. This study shows that the level of self-concept is higher in women, while the level of cyberbullying is higher in men. As well as this research shows that adolescents aged 18-19 years have a high self-concept, but have a high level of cyberbullying Konsep diri atau self concept adalah sebuah persepsi kita terhadap aspek diri yang meliputi aspek fisik, aspek sosial, dan aspek psikologis yang didasarkan pada pengalaman dan interaksi kita dengan orang lain. Remaja yang memiliki konsep diri positif akan memiliki tujuan dan cita-cita yang jelas tentang masa depannya. Sedangkan remaja yang memiliki konsep diri negatif akan memberikan batasan pada dirinya dan tidak bisa memenuhi apa yang diinginkan lingkungannya. Sedangakan, cyberbullying adalah perilaku jahat yang dilakukan dengan sengaja kepada orang lain dengan cara mengirim atau menyebarkan hal berbahaya yang dapat dilihat dengan bentuk agresi sosial dalam menggunakan internet atau teknologi digital lainnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan konsep diri yang positif pada remaja yang melakukan cyberbullying, serta menganalisis hubungan antara konsep diri dengan cyberbullying pada remaja dan mahasiswa usia 18-23 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dan rank spearman sebagai alat untuk menganalisis data. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner google form, kemudia data akan dikelola melaui SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rho=0,027 yang berati korelasi antara konsep diri dan cyberbullying dikategorikan sebagai korelasi yang sangat lemah. Pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat konsep diri yang lebih tinggi ada pada perempuan, sedangkan tingkat cyberbullying lebih tinggi pada laki-laki. Serta pada penelian ini menunjukan bahwa remaja yang berusia 18-19 tahun memiliki konsep diri yang tinggi, namun memiliki tingkat cyberbullying yang tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of smartphone addiction on aggressive behavior. The number of respondents who participated in the research were 127 students and youth aged 17-22 years. This research is a quantitative research method by filling out questionnaires that are carried out on the Google form that is distributed. The target respondents are students and youth. In this study, it can be obtained that the significant values ​​of smartphone addiction and aggressive behavior are 0.36 and 0.53. Which means the spread of data for the two variables is normally distributed because of the requirement for a data distribution to be said to be normal if the significant value is more than 0.05. based on the research results, the smartphone addiction variable has a subject variation of 5,756 and a mean value of 42.46. Furthermore, the aggressive behavior variable has a subject variation of 6,352 with a mean of 34.97. So, it can be explained that smartphone addiction and aggressive behavior are at a moderate level.   Peneitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak dari penggunaan smartphone addiction terhadap perilaku agesif. Jumlah responden yang berpatisipasi dalam peneitian sebanyak 127 mahasiswa dan remaja yang berusia dari 17-22 tahun.  Penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pengisian kuisioner yang dilakukan di google form yang disebarkan. Target respondennya yaitu, mahasiswa dan remaja. Pada penelitian ini dapat diperoleh bahwa nilai signifikan smartphone addiction dan perilaku agresif yaitu 0.36 dan 0.53. Yang berarti penyebaran data untuk kedua variabel tersebut terdistribusi normal karena syarat agar sebuah distribusi data dikatakan normal jika nilai signifikannya lebih dari 0.05. berdasarkan hasil penelitian variabel smartphone addiction memiliki variasi subjek sebesar 5.756 dan nilai mean sebesar 42.46 Selanjutnya, variabel perilaku agresif variasi subjek sebesar 6.352 dengan mean sebesar 34.97. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa smartpone addiction dan perilaku agresif yaitu ada pada tingkat sedang.

Abstract

Adolescence is referred to as a transitional period from children to adults due to the interaction of several factors including genetic, biological, environmental and social (Santrock, 2011: 402). At this time the family becomes the first environment in a child's life, where in a family the role of parents becomes very important, this can be reflected in the parenting patterns run by parents. If parents use authoritarian parenting, an unfavorable self esteem is formed where if a child has an unfavorable self esteem, he will have difficulty controlling his own emotions. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between authoritarian parenting and self esteem during the transition of children to adolescence. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method using data collection techniques using a questionnaire found on google form to measure the authoritarian parenting scale and self esteem, with the sperman rank analysis technique. From the results of the sperman rank analysis, the results show that the weak relationship between authoritarian parenting and self esteem with the results of the rho value of 0.175. Masa remaja disebut sebagai masa peralihan dari anak-anak menjadi dewasa dikarenakan adanya interaksi beberapa faktor anatara lain genetik, biologis, lingkungan dan sosial (Santrock, 2011: 402). Pada masa ini keluarga menjadi lingkungan pertama dalam kehidupan seorang anak, dimana dalam sebuah keluarga peran orang tua menjadi hal sangat penting sehingga dapat tercermin dalam pola asuh yang dijalankan oleh orang tua. Jika orang tua menggunakan pola asuh otoriter maka terbentuklah self esteem yang kurang baik dimana jika seorang anak memiliki self esteem yang kurang baik maka ia akan mengalami kesulitan dalam mengontrol emosinya sendiri. Adapun tujuan penelitiian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan self esteem pada masa transisi anak ke remaja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik penggumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang terdapat pada google form untuk mengukur skala pola asuh otoriter dan self esteem, dengan teknik analisis rank sperman. Dari hasil analisis rank sperman menunjukkan hasil bahwa lemahnya hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter terhadap self esteem dengan didpatkannya hasil nilai rho sebesar 0,175
