Indonesian Journal of Library and Information Science (IJLIS) contains articles written from research and study reports on Information and Library Science. Indonesian Journal of Library and Information Science is published twice annually (June and December) by the journal editors from the Library Science Study Program Faculty of etiquette and humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This journal is focused on the study of library and information sciences. The coverage include both review articles as well as research articles in those fields. Abstract

Open Educational Resources (OER) are adjudged to be of tremendous benefit to open and distance learners due to the nature of their academic programs. However, the level to which they will use these resources will be determined by certain factors. Thus, this study examined the influence of awareness, attitudes, and skills on the usage of OER by postgraduate students at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), South-South, Nigeria. Four hypotheses were generated and tested to guide the study. On a population of 2,119 postgraduate students, the study used a descriptive survey design of the correlational type. Fifteen percent of the population (318) was sampled for the study. A questionnaire was used to elicit data from the respondents, and upon administration, a 95% response rate was achieved. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (for the demographics) and inferential statistics (for the hypotheses). The results revealed that the independent variables of awareness, attitude, and skills all had moderate individual and joint influence on the usage of OER among open and distance learners. The study concluded that, to stimulate use of OER among postgraduate students, their awareness, attitude, and skills would have to be positively triggered. Consequently, recommendations were made.

Abstract

SR Ranganathan was one someone who significantly improved the subject about library science, whose five laws of libraries state: 1. Book are meant to be use, 2. Readers are books, 3. Readers are books, 4. Saves time for the reader and, 5. Libraries are living things. In other word, the research employed a desciprive qualitative approach, data analysis follows the Milles Huberman model,which entails gathering refinig, presenting, and ultimately drawing conclusion from the data. This study is related to the fourth law and the “Society 5.0 era”, which includes the usage of RFID Technology, continously digital service, and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) for the collection tracking. The fourth law of Ranganathan’s theory, according to the conclusion, positively affect librarie development and maintains up with modern times

Abstract

Perpustakaan dilingkungan pendidikan memegang peranan penting sebagai pusat sumber belajar dan mendukung proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendalamkan pemahaman terhadap startegi pustakawan dalam mewujudkan layanan prima di Perpustakaan SMK Muhammadiyah Cangkringan. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dan wawancara langsung dengan pustakawan berinisial P. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengidentifikasi strategi yang melibatkan optimalisasi kompetensi pustakawan, koordinasi dengan guru, analisis kepuasa pemustaka, dan optimalisasi sarana prasarana perpustakaan. Strategi pustakwan tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek teknis, melainkan juga memperhatikan interpersonal dan responsive terhadap kebutuhan pemustaka. Pengelolaan koleksi bukan sekedar penyediaan buku, tetapi juga respondibilitas terhadap perubahan kurikulum. Evaluasi kepuasan pemustaka menjadi instrument vital dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanna. Optimimalisasi sarana prasarana mencakup penciptaan lingkungan yang mendukung kreativitas dan kolaborasi.

Abstract

The development in information and communication technologi has changed the way of users in accessing the information in libraries. The libraries have replaced their card catalogues to OPACs and WebPACs. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review. This paper defines the concept of OPACs and WebPACs, confers the development of OPACs & WebPACs technology in libraries, explaines the distinction between OPACs and Card Catalogues, and explains various features and advantanges of WebPACs.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana kebijakan pengembangan koleksi diterapkan di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan tinjauan literatur. Dasar penilaian penelitian ini adalah artikel yang ditampilkan secara keseluruhan yang terkait dengan kebijakan pengembangan koleksi dan jurnal dalam bidang perpustakaan dan kearsipan dari tahun 2020 hingga 2022. Penelusuran dilakukan terhadap database Google Scholar yang diakses dengan alamat web https://scholar.google.com. Menggunakan pencarian lanjutan, kata kunci yang dipilih adalah penelitian kebijakan pengembangan koleksi perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dan mulai tanggal/tahun 2020-2022, kemudian hasil penelusuran yang muncul berjumlah 90 artikel. Selanjutnya peneliti melakukan penyaringan untuk menyesuaikan kriteria sehingga dihasilkan 40 artikel, kemudian peneliti mengkaji lebih mendalam (pengkajian kualitas) yang relevan dengan tujuan penelitian dihasilkan 5 artikel. Langkah selanjutnya, artikel tersebut dianalisis dengan pengambilan data berdasarkan data-data penting dalam artikel yaitu nama penulis, tahun terbit, judul, jurnal, tujuan, metode dan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang ditunjukkan adalah implementasi pengembangan koleksi mendapatkan kendala, yang sering atau umum terjadi yaitu mengenai masalah anggaran, fasilitas, dan tenaga kerja. Perpustakaan belum memiliki otonomi penuh dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan. Akibatnya, tidak mungkin untuk kontekstualisasi kebijakan pengembangan koleksi. Selain itu, peneliti mendapatkan bahwa partisipasi pemakai dalam kebijakan pengembangan koleksi masih rendah. Namun, guna melengkapi persyaratan data pemakai yang benar, keharusan pustakawan untuk mengetahui apa yang sangat mereka butuhkan.

Abstract

The library's continued existence as a hub for information resources has been impacted by the current developments in information technology. This study looks at information literacy initiatives as a means of strengthening madrasah libraries in Indonesia using a literature-based approach. What kinds of crucial elements are included in the information literacy program offered by the madrasah and library? The findings of this study suggest that enhancing the role of madrasah libraries as hubs of knowledge and information can be achieved by providing them with information literacy programs. It is anticipated that this program will enhance students' aptitude for finding, evaluating, and critiquing information in addition to producing well-educated graduates who are prepared to compete in the global marketplace. The madrasah librarian must prepare a planned process and foster collaboration among madrasah stakeholders in order to strengthen the implementation of the information literacy program in the madrasah library.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tulisan ini membahas mengenai Kebijakan Pengembangan Koleksi Berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan (PERKA) N0.08 Tahun 2017. Kajian dalam tulisan ini mengenai bagaimana proses pengembangan koleksi pada perpustakaan umum berlandaskan Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan (PERKA) No. 08Tahun 2017. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode library research. Data yang diperoleh berasal dari sumber yang ditulis oleh penulis lain, bukan oleh peneliti sendiri. Teknik pengumpulan data melibatkan proses membaca dan mencatat, di mana pengumpulan data dianggap selesai setelah informasi dari dokumen yang dikumpulkan telah dianalisis dan dicatat. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah menggunakan model Milles Huberman, yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa proses pengembangan koleksi di perpustakaan umum dilakukan beberapa tahap, yaitu kebijakan koleksi, proses seleksi koleksi, pengadaan, dan penyiangan serta pentingnya Standar Nasional, Fokus pada Kebutuhan Lokal, Strategi Pengelolaan Koleksi, Evaluasi dan Perbaikan Berkelanjutan, kemudian juga, Kolaborasi dan Sinergi. Kata Kunci: Kebijakan, Pengembangan Koleksi, Standar Nasional ABSTRACT This paper discusses the Collection Development Policy based on the Head of Library Regulation (PERKA) No. 08 of 2017. The study in this paper examines the collection development process in public libraries based on the Head of Library Regulation (PERKA) No. 08 of 2017. This paper uses the library research method. The data obtained comes from sources written by other authors, not by the researcher themselves. The data collection technique involves reading and noting, where data collection is considered complete after the information from the collected documents has been analyzed and recorded. The analysis method used to solve the problems employs the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results conclude that the collection development process in public libraries is conducted in several stages, namely collection policy, collection selection process, procurement, and weeding, as well as the importance of National Standards, Focus on Local Needs, Collection Management Strategies, Continuous Evaluation and Improvement, and also Collaboration and Synergy.
