Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic non-communicable disease, the cases of which are increasing every years. Hypertension is caused by heredity, age, food and unhealthy lifestyle. The consequences of hypertension include heart disease, stroke, myocardial infarction, atherosclerosis, kidney failure and other diseases. One of the effective and easy non-pharmacological treatments for lowering blood pressure is using Benson relaxation. Benson's relaxation is a concentration of relaxation by harmonizing blood pressure so that it reduces the work of the sympathetic and initial sympathetic nerves to affect heart rate, pulse, respiration and activities that use the workload of the heart. This study aimed to analyze the effect of benson relaxation in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This study was a pre-experimental research with a pretest and posttest design approach. The population in this study was hypertensive patients with a sample of 18 respondents selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of being willing to become respondents and participating in Benson relaxation activities for 2 weeks. The hypothesis testing used the T test (Paired sample Test). The results of the pre post systole study obtained p = 0.000 and pre post diastole p = 0.007 indicating that Benson relaxation is done regularly and is effective in reducing blood pressure in people with hypertension. It is hoped that people and families with hypertension can apply Benson in reducing and controlling blood pressure

The population of all patients undergoing surgery was 30, and data was collected through interviews and observations. The results of the study: preoperative nursing diagnosis consisted of sensory perception and anxiety disorders 30 (100%), impaired physical mobility, activity intolerance, and risk of falling 3 (10%), knowledge deficit 2(6,7%), body image disorders 1 (3,3%). Intraoperative nursing diagnosis: impaired tissue integrity 30 (100%), acute pain 7(23,3%), hypothermia 4 (13%), hypothermia risk 3 (10%). Postoperative nursing diagnosis, all participants experienced sensory perception disorders 30 (100%), acute pain 7(23.3%), infection risk 5(16,7%), impaired physical mobility, activity intolerance and fall risk 3 (10%), knowledge deficit 2(6.7%). Comorbidity affects the enforcement of nursing diagnoses. The correct nursing diagnosis is a reference for nurses in providing continuous intervention so that quality nursing services are obtained

Abstract

Stunting occurs due to chronic malnutrition that has been going on for a long time, namely from the time the child is in the womb until the child is 2 years old. Limited access to antenatal care is one of the causes of stunting. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on health services, including maternal and child health services. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between the history of antenatal care visits during the COVID-19 pandemic and the incidence of stunting. This was a quantitative study using an observational case-control research design with a retrospective approach. The population was all mothers who had babies aged 0–12 months in Kebonagung Village area, Pakisaji District, Malang Regency. The sampling technique used total sampling. The sample was 70 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-squared correlation test with a p value of 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between antenatal care visits during the COVID-19 pandemic and the incidence of stunting in the Kebonagung Village area, Pakisaji District, Malang Regency, with a p value of = 0.000 (p  < 0.05). with moderate closeness and a correlation coefficient value of (r) = 0.2352. It is expected that health workers will provide counseling, information, and education to pregnant women about the importance of prenatal checks to prevent stunting

Abstract

Health is one of the important elements in human life, so the utilization of health services is an important factor in determining health. The utilization of health services has been recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a primary health concept. However, many people do not take advantage of existing healthcare facilities. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors related to the utilization of health services by families. The research method used an analytic observational research design/analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a total sample of 61 respondents. Bivariate analysis to determine the relationship of each factor was the chi-square test. The results showed that there was no relationship between age and family utilization of health services (p>0.05), there was a relationship between education level and family utilization of health services (p<0.05), there was no relationship between employment status and health service utilization by the family (p>0.05), and there was no relationship between distance (access) and utilization of health services by the family (p>0.05). In this way, families can take advantage of the nearest health service when they are sick so they can find out what disease they are suffering from and get the correct treatment/care

Abstract

The prevalence of overweight and obesity among children has become a global epidemic. The causes of obesity are multifactorial. Changes in lifestyle that lead to westernization and sedentary result in changes in eating patterns in children. The objective of this study was to determine the differences in maternal nutritional knowledge before and after counseling on balanced nutrition using e-booklets and their correlation to the consumption level of elementary school children who experience excess nutrition. The research design used was a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 31 mothers and children who are experiencing excess nutrition from SDN 1 and 2 Sambirejo, Trenggalek regency was selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis employed the Paired Sample T-Test and Chi-Square test. There was an increase in the average score of mothers' knowledge from 69.03 to 77.41 with a p-value = 0.003 with  = 0.05. However, there was no correlation between a mother's knowledge and intake of energy, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Nutrition counseling using e-booklet media can increase mothers' knowledge but it is not related to the intake of elementary school children who have more nutrition
