Abstract

The effect of manitol 20% on changes in blood pressure after traumatic brain injury is unknown. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in blood pressure before and after the administration of 20% mannitol in traumatic brain injury patients at the Intensive Care Unit. This study is a quasi experimental research which uses a pre-post test without control one group design, a method used in observational analytic techniques. The population of this study were all traumatic brain injury patients who were given a manitol infusion of 20% 100ml, with consecutive sampling technique, obtained 12 samples. With a significance threshold of p 0.05, the test was performed using the Paired T test on systolic and MAP data and the post hoc Wilcoxon test on diastolic data.   paired t-test systolic p=0.000, MAP p=0,000. Wilcoxon test diastolic p=0,002. Decreasing blood pressure 15 minutes after administration of 20% mannitol occurs because half live mannitol which lowers blood pressure and responds to decreased blood pressure autoregulation, at 30 minutes resulting in decreased intra-cranial pressure, improves cerebral perfusion and brain autoregulation that affects systemic blood pressure 60 changes in blood pressure may be due to diuresis effects. During the administration of mannitol there is a change in blood pressure that needs to be monitored

Abstract

The participation or involvement of Birth control program acceptors in selecting and using long- acting contraceptive methods (LACMs) in Indonesia still needs to be higher. The factors contributing to the minimal participation of KB acceptors in the selection or use of LACMs include the low level of knowledge among acceptors regarding the use of LACMs. The objective of the study was to explain the relationship between KB acceptors' knowledge and the selection of LACMs. This literature review used a systematic literature review of 10 articles related to the topic, which have been screened. Ten journals that had been selected say that all agree that there is a relationship between knowledge and LACMs. According to the researcher and the data obtained, it could be concluded that there was a match between the researcher's literature review results and current theory, as well as previous research results

Abstract

Emesis occurs in 60-80% of primigravida and 40-60% of multigravida. These symptoms become more severe in one hundred out of a thousand pregnancies. The feeling of nausea is caused by an increase in estrogen and HCG hormone levels in the serum. 40% of women have used lemon scent to alleviate nausea and vomiting, and 25% of them have acknowledged that citrus aromatherapy is an effective way to control these symptoms. This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of lemon aromatherapy in reducing emesis gravidarum in the first trimester of pregnancy. The method used a literature review. Research articles were searched using Google Scholar by entering the keywords "Lemon Aromatherapy," "Emesis Gravidarum," and "First Trimester Pregnant Women" from 2019 to 2023. Out of 15 published journals identified from 2019 to 2023, 10 journals met the criteria. Based on the 10 reviewed journals, lemon aromatherapy had been proven effective in reducing nausea and vomiting in the first trimester of pregnancy. Based on the results of the literature review, the administration of 2-3 drops of lemon aromatherapy for 5 minutes once a day for one week is effective in reducing the frequency of nausea and vomiting in the first trimester of pregnancy

Based on Shapiro Wilk's statistical test, it was found that p value = 0.000, so that p value = 0.000 < α = 0.05. The influence of health education on health education about the benefits of katuk leaves to increase milk production in nursing mothers. Conclusion: There is an effect of health education on mother's knowledge about the benefits of katuk leaves to increase milk production

Abstract

People with comorbid diseases have a high risk of contracting COVID-19, because the immune system has decreased, thus increasing the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and even potentially increasing the risk of fatality. This study aimed to determine the comorbidity and mortality among COVID-19 confirmed cases during May to September, 2021. The study was a retrospective cohort with secondary data from the COVID-19 with in Hospital report from May to September, 2021, with a total sample of 178. We extracted demographic and clinical data, including hospital outcomes (discharge or death). The result of the research showed that the respondents separated in to two groups, half of them are patients with comorbidity (89 patients) and the rest are patients non comorbidity. From 89 patients with comorbidity, 62 % were died and 38 % were discharged. The most comorbidites were 67,4% diabetes mellitus, 33% hypertension. The fatality rate of COVID-19 patients was 34% devided to 61,8% were comorbidity patients and 5,5% were non comorbidity. The comorbidity related to fatality rate of COVID-19 patient’s (p=0.000). It is important for society to avoid and control comorbid factors of COVID-19

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which a child experiences developmental delays so that their height does not match their age, due to health problems during pregnancy, illness during infancy, and long-term lack of nutrition. One of the reasons for stunting is eating unbalanced, including exclusive breastfeeding as a baby. The impact of stunting besides growth, also causes minor illnesses, impaired brain development and intelligence, in the long term it can cause decreased mental capacity, decreased immune system so that it becomes weak easily, obesity, diabetes, stroke, heart and blood vessel disease, and old age disability. The aim of this study was to analyze the history of exclusive breastfeeding for the incidence of stunting. The research design was a quantitative correlation retrospective cohort approach, a population of 100 people with a sample of 50 people using the technique of simple random sampling. The study used Microtoice to measure the child's height was confirmed in table Z-Score and interview sheets for exclusive breastfeeding data. Analysis using Fisher Exact showed that the calculated P value (0.00) < error rate (0.1) had a relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting. Based on this research, further information was needed on how to prevent stunting regarding the importance of clean and healthy life, especially for family members who smoke, because smoking had a negative impact on stunted toddler growth hormones

This study was to analyze the relationship between anxiety levels and blood sugar levels in the elderly. The research design uses a cross sectional approach. The sample for this research was 87 respondents who were taken by purposive sampling from 111 elderly people.  The results of the Pearson correlations test showed that there was a relationship between anxiety and blood sugar levels in the elderly with a p value = 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore, the elderly can control their anxiety to reduce the risk of increasing blood sugar levels which have an impact on the health of the elderly
