Abstract

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan data-data kualitatif. Data–data dikumpulkan melalui studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah Sanggar Musik Aritonang di Jl. Jaring Udang 1 Kecamatan Medan Labuhan. Setelah analisis dilakukan, ditemukan hasil bahwa pemanfaatan pipa paralon dalam pembuatan alat musik taganing pada Sanggar Musik Aritonang di Jl. Jaring Udang 1 Kecamatan Medan Labuhan telah berhasil dimanfaatkan, hal ini dapat dilihat dari apresiasi masyarakat yang sangat mendukung berdirinya sanggar ini, yaitu dalam hal pembuatan alat musik taganing dari pipaparalon. Susra atau bunyi yang dihasilkan alat musik taganing yang terbuat dari pipa paralon memiliki suara yang sama dengan alat musik taganing yang terbuat dari kayu.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that cause Gondang Batak Toba used in Javanese wedding in Asahan District, to determine the presentation of the Toba Batak Gondang Javanese wedding ceremony in Asahan District, and to know the functions and Meaning Gondang Batak Toba in Javanese wedding ceremony in Asahan.In this study, the deepening of discussions Gondang writing Batak Toba, music theory, form of presentation, concept shape theory, theory of functions and meanings.The metode in this study uses a qualitative description method. Location of the study was conducted in Asahan area.In the present study found that the form of presentation of the data at this party Gondang Batak used after the event is finished izab. ie at the time of the event manortor and entertainment events. Functions and Gondang here used as entertainment, because the functions held are no longer used as a means of culture that is traditional, which typically has a sacred values ​​when its use as used in Javanese wedding. 're Right Gondang meaning in this event only as a means of connecting the social interaction between ethnic Batak and Javanese.

Abstract

This research is intend to find out Youth Jazz Community existence in Medan, be in members, band and every activity that Youth Jazz Community do.Theory used includes the notion of the existence,development and community. The research method used is descriptive qualitative role in the study population is a resource that is a Youth Jazz Community. While the sample were 30 persons. To compliment the data’s in this study researchers conducted observation, interviews and documentation as well as the study of literatures. The research conducted in sei petani street 20th Medan. Youth Jazz Community is a community in wich there are a bunch of young people to jazz fan’s, they joined in a community that aims to popularize jazz music in Medan. The community began to take shape in 2010 and still active up to now. This community has a lot to hold and follow jazz event in Medan, they do this so that people in Medan can enjoy jazz music easily. This community event will be held in addition to also perform activities of gathering and discussing jazz music. They also always active in the hold and follow jazz events in the area as well as national.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the history of the discovery of stone Gordang. How to play rock Gordang and discusses the tone sounds on the stone gordaqng Limbong rural districts early Sianjur samosir district. Population and samples in this study amounted to 150 people in rural communities Limbong districts Sianjur samosir first district. The method used in this study is qualitative deskruptif. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and literature study documentation. Processing techniques and data analysis using qualitative descriptive research type. Simple in this research were 14 people districts Limbong Sianjur mula-mula district samosir. Author conducted research "is an heirloom stone Gordang Batak Toba people who can produce sounds of musical instruments in the hands taganing and Limbong ompu.borsak clan". The results of the interview with the father of nutrient Five Limbong stated that "Stone Gordang found by Limbong Mulana in 1845 in the village Limbong". Results of interviews with Mr. Hara five Limbong "The tones contained in a tone stone Gordang do, re, re, mi, fa, sol, la. Society in the Village Limbong at this time had planned to maintain and preserve the stone Gordang to be.

Abstract

Keragaman dan pluralitas budaya di Sumatra Utara sangat menjadi satu daya tarik dalam mengembangkan potensi daerah. Batak Toba merupakan salah satu etnis yang mempunyai banyak kebudayaan. Ansambel Gondang merupakan bagian dari ritual yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan sehari –hari.  Peranan dari ansambel gondang digunakan dalam mengiringi tor-tor sigale-gale menjadi satu hal yang menarik untuk di kupas dalam jurnal ini. Ansambel musik Batak Toba gondang yang berperan untuk mengiringi tor-tor sigale-gale merupakan salah satu kebudayaan masyarakat Batak Toba, yang pada masa lalu tor-tor sigale-gale lebih difokuskan pada upacara ritual, namun pada saat ini keadaan itu sudah berubah kadang kala banyak dijumpai sebagai sarana hiburan saja. Dalam jurnal ini di ulas bagian-bagian dari ansambel gondang serta peranan gondang dalam mengiringi tari tor-tor. Dalam jurnal ini juga mendeskrifsikan gondang secara keseluruhan, dari istilah-istilah hingga pada tatanan fungsi gondang dalam adat kebudayaan Batak Toba.

Abstract

The results of this study based on the data collected, the researcher can conclude that this community was formed with the aim of develop the skills of drummer in Medan that still play by way of self-taught by means of routine educational activities such as Coaching clinic and Master Class. But this educational activity will not be fulfilled if it is not supported by the means and supporting infrastructure that comes from sponsorship, Raja Music and Sonor drums. With the support that has been given by the Raja Music and Sonor drums, it was enough to help the Medan Drummer Foundation Community to further develop its presence. It all proved of positive responses from the community or audience about how the development of this community from the beginning formed until right now.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development the role gamelan as accompainist wayang kulit di Group Krido Laras Kota Medan. Method in this study uses a qualitative description of the method in which the data is examined through interviews, data collection in the form books, scientific papers, and electronic materials based on topics of research material. The study chose location at Sanggar Musik Campursari Group Krido Laras di Jalan Bromo No. 26 Kota Medan. The population in this study were taken 1 dalang, 3 pesinden dan 13 music performer and informants related to being this research study.After analysis, it was found that results of Group Krido Laras was esthabilised in 2000. The Group Krido Laras one music group that still maintains the traditional gamelan musical instruments as accompaniment shadow puppets. The Group Krido Laras in the city of Medan actually exist and still active to perform a shadow puppet performances accompanied by gamelan. In this case the Group Krido Laras is taken as the study sample for this thesis because this group is a group whose that still maintains gamelan as accompanist shadow puppets in the city of Medan.

Abstract

The results of this study indicate that the presented music brings an important role in attracting tourists to visit Lumban Silintong although the music is not the main attraction at this attraction but music has been a contributing factor in the development of its tourism industry. As for the presentation of musical elements that exist in Lumban Silintong ie musical instruments, where the instruments used are the keyboard but once there is a guitar and flute. Music players, coming from people around Lumban Silintong. Music, usually served there generally is pop music, dangdut, and House music, a song is usually sung pop songs and Indonesian Batak, old song and song House music dangdut whereas normally served starting at 11 pm. Visitors, the tourists who come to Lumban Silintong, stopped at a cafe to enjoy a meal while enjoying the view of Lake Toba. Time and place penellitian, music usually presented on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, while his place is at a floating cafe built on the lake or on the lake. Travelers interested in the presentation of the music made in Lumban Silintong cafe where music becomes a means of entertainment for tourists and can also as a means of expression.
