Abstract

This research aims at (1) finding the needs process production in PT Cahaya Gentala Mandiri, seen from the input aspect; (2) knowing the needs, seen from the operational processing aspect process production in the PT Cahaya Gentala Abadi and (3) getting the information of the needs from the production aspect point of view in the coolling coil making process in PT Cahaya Gentala Abadi. This research was conducted in PT Cahaya Gental Abadi, Bekasi, West Java. Using evaluative approach, descriptive evaluative research was apllied to conduct the research as the best strategy which most suitable. This research did not use the CIPP models completely but it uses the part of CIPP evaluation model by using IPP evaluation (input, process and product). Using snaw ball sampling, this research applied the technique of data sampling by unlimited or unselected the informan as data resources. There were 38 data sampling which consist of Directors(4), Head of Units (8) and labors (26). Technique of data analisys used in this reasearch wass descriptive analitical techique or non statistic. The result of this research, is: (1) the necessity in this input aspect are: provision of working time that are tailored to the needs and limited by applicable laws, specifically UU no.13 of 2003; policies employee qualifications that are tailored to the needs of the company and to plan training and personal mentoring; Setting standards and workload; Setting standards of tolerance. (2) the necessity in the aspects  of process are: working time which is provided to execute well and discipline, and also supervision of the management company; Managing employees and increase the personal qualifications of the employees by conducting training and personal mentoring; Implementation and workload standards; implementation of standard tolerances established companies to improve labor productivity. (3) the requirement in the aspect of a product is: quality and quantity that should be achieved by optimizing input and process in the company management.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance grade XI students? motivation and achievement at SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta by applying cooperative learning type think pair share (TPS) for automotive chassis learning process.This is an class action research (CAR). In the basis of data analysis, the application of cooperative learning type think pair share (TPS) was able to boost students? motivation and achievement. The increase of students? motivation in learning automotive chassis subject could be seen from motivation observation sheet. The preaction percentage of students? achievement at class XI TOA was 49.10% with less active category, the first cycle of 65.95% with moderately active category and the second cycle was 80.29% with good activity category. Meanwhile, in class XI TOB the percentage was 47.22% with less active category, the first cycle of 63.54% with moderately active category and the second cycle was 81.60 % by category of activity either. The accomplishment value of the students preaction as shown by prettest score was 0% of the total 63 students of of class XI of automotive engineering, then there was increase on cycle I results-posttest completion percentage of 47.62% with low criteria. Later in the second cycle averages the percentage who completed the posttest score of 82.54% with a high criteria.It then could be inferred that the application of cooperative learning type think pair share was proved effective in enhancing students? motivation as shown by the increase on each cycle in which the target achievement was set to 75%. The students? accomplishment also reached the minimum target that was 75% for automotive chassis learning process at SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta

Abstract

            The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) Effect of the concentration ascorbic acid (AA) in a solution NaCl on the corrosion rate low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. (2) Effect of NaCl concentration on the corrosion rate low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. (3) Interaction of the effect between the inhibitor concentration AA with NaCl concentration on the corrosion rate low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. The study is an experimental study. The reseach procedure uses four steps of preparation, experimentation and data collection, data analysis, conclusions. The research site in Polytecnic Manufacturing Ceper and Laboratory Faculty of Chemistry UNS. This study uses a 3x5 factorial experimental design. The population of the research was low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. The sample of the research was AISI 1006 low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. The sampling technique using random sampling. The experimental treatments with three replicate that using 45 samples. The method of data collection used in study is the experimental method. The results of this study are: (1) There is an influence of variation concentration of inhibitor AA to the corrosion rate of low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint, the addition of AA with a concentration below 100 ppm is increase the corrosion rate, whereas the addition of AA with a concentration above 100 ppm is decrease the corrosion rate. (2) There is an influence of NaCl concentration to the corrosion rate of low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. The concentration of NaCl is directly proportional to the corrosion rate of low carbon steel after coating process of epoxy paint. (3) There is interaction effect between AA concentration of NaCl concentration on the rate of corrosion of low carbon steel after coating epoxy paint. The addition of AA concentration is directly proportional to the concentration of NaCl.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) To determine the chemical composition and aluminum alloy standard codification of cast wheel aluminum. (2) To determine the microstructure before and after welding with oxy - acetylene welding method with PWHT on the cast aluminum wheel. (3) To determine the level of hardness and level of impact strength before and after welding with oxy - acetylene welding method with PWHT on the cast wheel aluminum. The research was conducted in the laboratory INLASTEK Surakarta. The Object in this research used are aluminium cast wheels. Techniques of data analysis in this research using descriptive data analysis that is directly observed  experimental results and then analyzed and summing up the results of the research. As an input parameter in analyzing the data include:the testing of chemical composition, microstructure, hardness and impact. From  the research, we can conclude that  the  chemical composition on  aluminium  cast wheel including Aluminium  Silicon alloy,  because the element  Si alloy is the largest with 4.61% Si. Microstructure on  base metal granules the spread equally on the surface of  Al. Specimen hardness value of raw material is higher than oxy-acetylene welding specimens. The average value of raw material hardness results 42.69 BHN while the average value of oxy-acetylene  welding results 34.34 BHN. Average hardness oxy-acetylene welding specimens in the HAZ area 31.81 BHN. The average value of raw material impact results 0,092 J/mm² while the average value of oxy-acetylene welding results 0,078 J/mm². Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) was effect on the mechanical properties and microstructural that characterized by nearly changes in the microstructure between the weld region, HAZ , and base material after PWHT process .

The purpose of this researchare to know the application of 5R (organization, neatness, cleanliness, standardization, discipline) by employee have been done well and to know the measures and activities of 5R practice in Machinery and Tool Unit (UMT) Mega Andalan Kalasan, Ltd. to achieve superior industry as the basic to build international industry.This research used experimental method and the techniques of data analysis used descriptive data analysis.Based on this researchcan be concluded:the application of 5R practice by the employee in Machinery and Tool Unit (UMT) Mega Andalan Kalasan, Ltd. have been done well. Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate the effect of mold temperature variations on the flash formation and weld line, the mold temperature resulting in the rearview mirror case product with optimal quality on the injection molding process of the polypropylene globalene 7533 (PP) plastic product by using simulation software and on injection molding machine.  The correspondence between the simulation of the software and the production application in industry on injection molding process for the design of mold temperature of injection molding process of the polypropylene globalene 7533 (PP) plastic product.This research used the descriptive quantitative. The samples of the research were the rearview mirror cases of PS135. The data of the research were gathered from simulations by using the software of Autodesk Inventor 2013 with the mold temperature parameters of 20oC, 30oC, 40oC, 50oC, 60oC, 70oC, 80oC, and 90oC. They were then entered into a table, displayed in the form of graphs, and analyzed.The results of the research are as follows the mold temperature influences the flash formation and weld line, The parameter which is optimal for the injection molding process based on the measurement with the software of Autodesk Inventor 2013 prevails and on the injection molding obtained through the use of machine of HAITIAN HTF 160X exists at the mold temperature of 20oC. The result of simulation by using the software of Autodesk Inventor 2013 is the same as that of the process on the actual injection molding machine.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the bending characteristics of composite sandwich cantula fiber using a cardboard core thickness variation of type BC - flute. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The research began with the manufacture of sandwich composite material then the material given bending test using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Bending testing refers to ASTM C-393 which would result in another calculation, the bending stress and shear stress core face. Face is composed of a fiber composite cantula as filler, Unsaturated Polyester resin as a binder BQTN-EX Yucalac 157, and Metyl Etyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKPO) as a catalyst. Core uses cardboard type BC - Flute compiled by PV Ac - Fox with a thickness variation of 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, and 40 mm. Epoxy adhesive using Versamid 140. The results showed that the thickness variation affects the bending stress composites, core shear stress and bending stress face. The addition ofthe composite thickness resulting impairment the composite bending stress, core shear stress and facing bendingstress. The highest average value occurs at a thickness of 10 mm with a core voltage of 17,47 MPa composite bending, shear cores of 0,75 MPa, and face bending stress of 18,84 MPa.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) to find out the effect of Alkali on the bending strength of human hair fibre composite. (2) to find out the time needed on the alkali treatment to reach an optimum bending strength on the human hair fibre composite. This research was conducted  in Material Laboratory of Engineering Faculty of Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. The researcher used human hair fibre and polyester resin 157 BQTN which are added with MEXPO 1% catalyst as the main materials. Human hair fibre composite with variation of alkali treatment those are 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes was used as the research sample. The composite was made through press molding way with volume fraction ratio between matrix and filler in the amount of 60% : 40%. The composite was made based on ASTM D 790 standard. The results of this research show that alkali treatment give an effect on the bending strength of human hair fibre composite. Hair with longer alkali treatment shows higher bending strength. This is proven by the result of the research that shows the bending strengths without alkali treatment, within 30 minute of alkali treatment and within 60 minute of alkali treatment for each are 34,821 MPa; 38,012 MPa dan 43,679 MPa. Overlong alkali treatment (more than 60 minutes) will break the hair fibre thus it weakens the bending strength. This is proven by the result of the research that shows that the bending strength in 90 minute and 120 minute alkali treatment that is not higher than that reach 31,345 MPa dan 26,869 MPa. The conclution of this research are: (1) The longer of fibre alkali treatment is given, the stronger of bending strength of human hair fibre composite will be got. However, if alkali treatment is given too long (more than 60 minutes) it will decrease the bending strength of human hair fibre composite due to the damage of the hair. (2) The highest bending strength is reached when the alkali treatment up to 60 minutes that shows 43,679 MPa.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the variation of core thickness on strength bending characteristic of cantulas? fiber sandwich composite  with the type combination C-Flute and A-Flute of cardboard honeycomb core.         Cantulas? fiber is used to make the skin by applied it in the same way and get alkali ( 2% NaOH ) in 6 hours. Hand  lay up method  is used in the production process by using fraction 40:60 resin BQTN 157 with the thickness of skin 4 mm. in  making  the combination between C-Flute and A-Flute core honeycomb used Horisontal Gelombang Dua arah ( HGD ) method  with the variation of the core thickness 10 mm, 20mm, and 40 mm. then , adhesive epoxy versamid 140 is used to glue between skin and core.  the mechanical test is conducted using bending test according to ASTM C 393 standart.  the failure observation of the bending test is done by makro photo. The result shows that the variation of core thickness influence the  strength of bending sandwich cantulas?  fiber  sandwich composite  with the type combination C-Flute and A-Flute of cardboard honeycomb core . the maximum weight of the bending sandwich composite is in the 10 mm of the core thickness with the value 14,800 MPa,  on  core shear stress and facing bending stress is in the 10 mm of the core thickness with the value 0,634 MPa and 14,271 MPa. the pattern of failure is  in the core failure, delaminasi, deformasi and in  the skin is causes of  load tensile.

Abstract

The purpose of this research were: (1) To knew the effect of higher octane number on gasoline type to torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle. (2) To knew the effect 10.2:1 high compression ratio on compression ratio variation to torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle. (3) To knew the effect higher octane number on gasoline type and 10.2:1 high compression ratio on compression ratio variation to torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle.This research used experimental method and the techniques of data analysis used descriptive data analysis.Based on this research can be concluded: (1) The higher octane number on gasoline type influenced of  torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle. (2) 10.2:1 high compression ratio on compression ratio variation type influenced of  torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle. Torque and engine power was decreased on 9.1:1  low compression ratio (2 gaskets) and 8.7:1  compression ratio (3 gaskets). (3) The higher octane number on gasoline type and 10.2:1 high compression ratio on compression ratio variation  influenced of  torque and engine power on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle. (4) With used pertamax plus on 10.2:1 compression ratio can producted optimum torque 10.24 N.m at 5000 rpm and optimum engine power 9.8 HP at 7646 rpm on Suzuki Shogun FL 125 SP 2007 motorcycle.
