Abstract

The goal of this research is to get the view of (1) the effectiveness of odd semester exam  with rotating system in preparation aspect, (2) the effectiveness of odd semester exam  with rotating system in performing aspect, (3) the effectiveness of  odd semester exam  with rotating system in student?s assessment aspect, (4) Student?s studying motivation in attending odd semester exam  with rotating system, (5) Student?s studying achievement in odd semester exam  with rotating system on technique vocational subject. This research was held in SMK Yayasan Pendidikan (YP) Delanggu. This research was evaluative research type by using descriptive research method. The population of this research was 113 students from 4 classes. The technique for taking sample used proportional random sampling while for determining the sample size used Nomogram Harry King. The technique for collecting variable data of the effectiveness of intermittent used questionnaire technique and interview. Whereas in student?s studying achievement variable used documentation technique. Validation test was done with correlation product moment technique for Pearson while reliability test was done with Cronbach Alpha. The results of this research show that; (1) the effectiveness of odd semester exam  with rotating system in preparation aspect is classified as good; (2) the effectiveness of odd semester exam  with rotating system in performing aspect is classified as good; (3) the effectiveness of odd semester exam  with rotating system in student?s assessment aspect is classified as good; (4) Students? studying motivation in attending odd semester exam  with rotating system is classified as good, (5) Students? studying achievement on technique vocational subject for XI grade is classified as good.

Abstract

Purposes of the research are to know effect of fuel heating in cylinder block and ethanol addition in gasoline on torsion and power of Motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009.The research is an experimental one. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling technique. Sample of the research is Motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009 with machine number MH34D72039J261872. Data of torsion and power is obtained by using dynotest Sportdyno V3.3. Data of the research is, first, data of torsion  and power without fuel heating and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; second, data of torsion and power with one-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; third, data of torsion and power with two-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; data of torsion and power with three-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%.Based on results of the research, it can be concluded that, first, the fuel heating either one-pipe, two-pipe, or three-pipe types can reduce torsion and power of motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009; second, ethanol addition of premium gasoline can reduce torsion and power of the motorcycle; third, the highest torsion of the tests, namely 8.913 N.m., was found for 0% ethanol addition without fuel heating, whereas the lowest torsion, namely 8.493 N.m., was found with variation of ethanol additions of 20% and 25% and two-pipe fuel heating; fourth, the highest power, namely 8.467 HP, was found with variation of ethanol additions of 0% and 5% without fuel heating, whereas the lowest power, namely 7.933 HP, was found with ethanol addition of 30% and two-pipe fuel heating.

Abstract

The purpose of this reseacrch are to: (1) Investigate the effect of using electrolyzer with variety of  electrolyte volume to exhaust gas emissions CO and HC Supra X 125 in 2007 Motorcycles. (2) Investigate the effect of modified ignition timing to exhaust gas emissions CO and HC Supra X 125 in 2007 Motorcycles. (3) Investigate the effect of comparing electrolyte volume on electrolyzer and modified ignition timing to amount exhaust gas emissions CO and HC Supra X 125 in 2007 Motorcycles. This research was used experimental methods. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Automotive Mechanical Engineering Education Program, JPTK, FKIP, UNS Surakarta to the address on Ahmad Yani Street No. 200 Kartasura. The equipment that was used to measure CO and HC exhaust gas emissions was gas analyzer STARGAS 898 type. The population in this research was Supra X 125 in 2007 Motorcycle and sample in this research was Supra X 125 in 2007 Motorcycle with JB51E1915937 engine number. This research was analyzed using descriptive data analysis. This research was using variety of electrolyte volume: without electrolyzer, 300 cc, and 500 cc volume electrolyte of electrolyzer . This research were using 3 variations ignition timing which are magnet with a standard ignition timing (150 BTDC), 20 and 40 advanced ignition timing. Based on the results of this study concluded that the addition of electrolyzer with advanced ignition timing can reduce exhaust gas emissions CO and HC significantly. The lowest exhaust gas emissions level of CO is 0.558 %, produced in electrolyzer with 500 cc electrolyte volume and 170 before TDC ignition timing. The lowest exhaust gas emissions level of HC is 137,667 ppm, produced in electrolyzer with 500 cc electrolyte volume and 190 before TDC ignition timing.

Abstract

Purposes of the research are to: (1) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007; (2) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied solutions on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007; (3) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of  Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007. The research is a quantitative one with experimental method. Sample of the research is motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007 with machine number of JB51E2015321. The research was performed in Automotive Laboratory of Machine Engineer Education Program of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta assisted by Gas Analyzer Technotes type STARGAS 898 instrument. Data is obtained from CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of the motorcycle with addition of an electrolyzer tube containing varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions. The data is listed on tables and presented in form of graphics, and then, they are analyzed. Results of the research indicated that: (1) the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire had effect on CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007,based from the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. (2) The use of varied kind of solutions of the electrolyzer was also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007,basedfrom the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. (3) the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind of solutionswas also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D2007, based from the measurement data shows that the CO exhaust gas emission levels lower than before the use of electrolysis and HC exhaust gas emissions levels higher than before the use of electrolysis. The conclusions of this study is the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind ofsolutions  can reduce CO exhaust gas emissions Honda Supra X 125D 2007 the lowest CO exhaust gas emissions is in the amount of 0.072% from 1.669% without the use of electrolysis or down by 95.68% but increase HC exhaust gas emissions Honda Supra X 125D2007 which is an increase of at least 626.667 ppm is from the condition without elektrliser 605 ppmor increased 4.07%. Results of exhaust gas emissions of CO and HC are the best in the can on the use of copper wire of 1.5 mm diameter with KOH solution. the use of electrolyzer with varied diameters of copper wire and varied kind of solutionswas also affecting CO and HC exhaust gas emissions of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125D 2007 where the lowest CO exhaust gas emissions 0.072 % and HC exhaust gas emissions at the least increase 626.667 ppm.

Abstract

The purpose of this research were : (1) To knew how the effect of  heating premium fuel through a copper pipe installed between the fins of cylinder block to exhaust gas emissions (CO) and (HC) on Yamaha Vega R 2009 motorcycles. (2) To knew how the  effect of heating mixture of gasoline and fuel ethanol through a copper pipe installed between the fins of  cylinder block to exhaust gas emissions (CO) and (HC) on Yamaha Vega R 2009 motorcycles. (3) To know the value of the levels exhaust gas emissions (CO) and (HC) on the effect of heating fuel were installed between the fins of cylinder block Yamaha Vega  2009 motorcycles.This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The sample used was Yamaha Vega R 2009  motorcycles with the numbere of machine 4D71261848. The data obtained from the value of CO and HC with percentage variation mixture of premium ethanol E0, E5, E10, E15, E20, E25, E30 using a method without heating fuel and heating fuel using 1, 2 and 3 pipes. The data obtained from this research included in the tables and displayed in a graph, and then analyzed.Based on this research can be conclude : (1) The highest levels (CO) when  heating fuel on the 1 pipe,  while the lowest levels (CO) when without heating fuel. The highest levels (HC) when heating fuel on the 2 pipe,  while the lowest level (HC) when heating fuel on the  1 pipe. (2) The highest levels (CO) when heating fuel on the E0 variation of fuel while the lowest levels (CO) when heating fuel on the E0 variation of fuel. The highest levels (HC) when heating fuel on the E30 variation of fuel while the lowest levels (HC) when heating fuel on the E5 variation of fuel. (3) The highest levels exhaust gas emissions (CO) is 1.216 (% vol) and The lowest levels exhaust gas emissions (CO) is 0.083 (% vol). While the highest levels exhaust gas emissions (HC) 877 (ppm vol) and the lowest levels exhaust gas emissions (HC) is 99 (ppm vol).

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate:(1) Influence the use of water injection to exhaust gas emissions level of CO and HC on Honda Supra Fit2006 motorcycle. (2) Influence of variations the diameter of injector on the water injection to exhaust gas emissions level of CO and HC on Honda Supra Fit2006 motorcycle. Based on experimental result can be concluded: (1) The using of water injection gave the effect to exhaust gas emissions level of CO and HC on Honda Supra Fit2006 motorcycle. There is a positive effect on CO emissions because the use of Wa-I 21G has CO levels decreased by 1.901% and the use of Wa-I 23G  has CO levels decreased by 1,920%. Whereas for HC emissions there are negative effect on the use of Wa-I 21G has HC levels increased by 1236 ppm and the use of Wa-I 23G has HC levels increased by 1140 ppm. (2). The diameter of hypodermic needle as water injector gave the effect to exhaust gas emissions. There is a difference of exhaust gas emissions level of CO and HC when using Wa-I system with the 21G and 23G injector type. Based on the results of measurements, the use of Wa-I 21G produce levels of CO 0.019% higher than Wa-I 23G, whereas on HC emissions the use of Wa-I 21G produce levels of HC 96 ppm higher than Wa-I 23G.

Abstract

The aim of this research is: (1) to improve student?s activity by applying Quantum Teaching model and Mind Mapping method for teaching standard competence of working with lathe machine at class XI TP 1 SMK Murni 1 Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year, (2) to improve student?s achievement by applying Quantum Teaching model and Mind Mapping method for teaching standard competence of working with lathe machine at class XI TP 1 SMK Murni 1 Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year. This research was Classroom Action Research. The subject was class XI TP 1 SMK Murni 1 Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year which consist of 27 students. This research was applied to teach standard competence of working with lathe machine. This research was conducted in two cycles. In every cycle, there were four stages: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data was taken using observation sheets, interviews, test, and documentation. The validity of data was using triangulation. The validity of instrument was using the validity of construct and content. The quantitative data was processed by using descriptive percentage. The data from the observation was analyzed to describe student?s and teacher?s activity during the learning process. The result of this research showed that by applying the Quantum Teaching model and Mind Mapping method can improve student?s activity and achievement. Before applying Quantum teaching, student?s activity in pre-cycle (26,3%). After applying Quantum Teaching student?s activity in cycle I (65,6%) and in cycle II (83%). Student?s mastery in pre-cycle (14,81%), cycle I (51,9%) and cycle II (81,5%). Student?s average score in pre-cycle (48,81), cycle I (68,6) and cycle II (78,9). The conclusion of this research is by applying the Quantum Teaching model and Mind Mapping method improve student?s activity and achievement in standard competence of working with lathe machine at class XI TP 1 SMK Murni 1 Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are : (1) to improve student?s activity by applying Valve Mechanism of Internal Combustion Engine Trainerfor basic automotive competence at class X TO-D SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta in 2013/2014 Academic Year, (2) to improve student?s achievement by applying Valve Mechanism of Internal Combustion Engine Trainer for basic automotive competence at class X TO-D SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year. This research was Classroom Action Research. The subject was class X TO-D SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year which consist of 27 student?s. This research was applied to teach basic automotive competence sub-competence valve mechanism. This research was conducted in two cycles. In every cycle, there were four stages: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data was taken using observation sheets, interviews, test, and documentation. The data from the observation was analyzed to describe student?s and teacher activity during the learning process. The result of this research showed that by applying Valve Mechanism of Internal Combustion Engine Trainer can improve student?s activity and achievement. In cycle I percentage student?s activity (61,33%). In cycle II increased to (79,55%). Student?s achievement in pre-cycle (73,33%), in cycle I (80%) and cycle II (86,66%). Student?s average score in pre-cycle (63,63), cycle I (67,17) and cycle II (78,9). The conclusion of this research is by applying Valve Mechanism of Internal Combustion Engine Trainermethod improve student?s activity and achievement in basic automotive competence sub-competence valve mechanism at class X TO-D SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta in 2013/2014 academic year.

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the differences in students' interest in the practice and theory subjects. Students are more interested in the practice than theory lessons. According to Muhibbin Syah interest is a great inclination toward something. Interest is something that are influenced by internal factors and external factors in human beings. The purpose of this study was to describe the factors that influence students' interest towards practical subjects and the reasons why students are less enthusiastic on the subjects of theory. This study was held at SMK Negeri 2 Karanganyar. This study used a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Sources of data in this study were the teacher, the eleventh grade students and learning environment in SMK N 2 Karanganyar. The data collection technique were using the questionnaire, observation, interviews, documentation or records. The validity of the data were using triangulation methods and sources. Analysis of the data in this study was the interactive analysis model. The results showed that some of the internal factors that affect student interest are attention span which is high with 57,14%, curiosity which is high with 54.76%, motivation which is very high with 52.38% and the students? needs which is high with 70.24%. External factors that affect student interest are support from parents which is high with 61.91%, teachers which is high with 66.67%, friends which is 53.57% or high, school?s facilities is moderate with 40,48% and social environment which is high with 64.29%. The reason students are less interested in the theoretical lessons are (1) teachers, teachers are often too monotonous in teaching, are underestimating students, and are too rapid in conveying the learning materials, (2) motivation, most of the students assume the practice is more important, (3) friends, students are easily affected to their friend demeanor.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites on torsion of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007 at the revolution of 4500 rpm ? 9500 rpm; and (2) the effect of use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites on power of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007 at the revolution of 4500 rpm ? 9500 rpm. This research used the experimental method. The test of the effect of use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites on torsion and power of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007 was held at the liability limited company of PT. Motocourse Technology (Mototech), domiciled on Jl Ringroad Selatan, Kemasan, Singosaren, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta, with the testing device of Sportdyno V 3.3. The sample of research was Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007 with the engine number of JB51E1951246. The sample was taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of research were gathered by using the experimental method by utilizing print out of the result of testing on torsion and power with the aforementioned tool. They were analyzed by using the descriptive comparative technique of analysis. The results of research are as follows: 1) There is an increase of effect in the use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites on torsion of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007. The maximum of torsion increase is 0.039 kgf.m or 3.5% of the maximum torsion generated by the standard intake manifold. 2) There is an increase of effect in the use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites on on power of Motorcycle Honda Supra X 125 assembled in 2007. The maximum of power increase is 0.2 PS or 2% of the maximum power produced by the standard intake manifold. The increase in the torsion and power with the use of intake manifold with base material of pineapple leaf fiber composites can be used as a reference for the owners of motorcycles who are willing to increase the torsion and power of their motor cycle with a cheap cost.
