Abstract

A curriculum consistsof a number of interrelated complex components. Theschool-based curriculum has several components: curriculumand learningoutcomes, class-based evaluation, teaching-learning activities,and school-basedcurriculum organization. These are completedwith the establishment ofcurriculum networking, the development of curriculum supplements (e.g.syllabuses), professional trainings for educational practitioners,and thedevelopmentof curriculum information system. The school-based curriculumimplementationand development strategies should include all of them. Therefore,it is necessary to continuously conduct researchon the school-based curriculum,especiallywhen the curriculum starts to be implemented. There are two importantpoints in the school-based curriculum development research. The first includesdevelopingand validating all the instructional kits used in the school to ensure that- the kits are ready to use and effective, and the second involves the comprehensiveanalysisof all the variables influencing the success of education. For the first point,the.researchand development (R&D) approach is appropriate in the developmentand validation of curriculum supplements. For the second point, regarding causalcorrelations among variables in education, the structural equation modeling isappropriate. There are anumber of educational variables that cannot be directlymeasured; latent variablesmust be formulated through other measurable variables.If the variables cannot be directly measured,we have to form the variables bymeans of variable indicators that can be directly measured by using measurementmodeling. Analyzing causal correlations among latent variables,we can use thestructural equation modeling involvingpath analysis and measurement modeling

Abstract

The effect of learning improvement success developed by teacher indirectlywill affect in the increase of the quality of education macro. In this context, studyinstructed to evaluation is interest to the implementation of teach by teacher in theclassroom.In this professional examination teacher expected by personating ofrenewal agent cCll1 be social, can act as the instruction organizer, responsibility toincrease its teachership efficiency. Method used in· research evaluate is programevaluate method, with the instrument which have directive to that format IPKG 1and IPKG 2. Result obtained can be categorized into its professionalism storey levelis good,where foquulation mean of is target of study 24,59 % and otherrangefrom17,10 - 23,42 %. While ability learn in executing study is .also categorized by agoodness,where interest mean developed by equal to 78,43 % and other rangefrom 10,36 - 11,21%. But there is also difficulty faced bythe teacher; namely explainthe indicator ladder do not sort from simple interest to complex interest, do notentangle the student in activity of making.or explQiting' of is source of learningmedia,do not trigger and look after the student involvement in openingopportunity for the discussion of group.

Abstract

Banyumas, as a region in Central JavaProvince~ is geographically locatedbetween two different ethnic groups, namely the Javaneseand the Sundanese. Thismakes Banyumas receive influences from two different culturesand have specificand unique characteristics. Banyumas has a variety ofarts such as, among others,lengger calung, ebeg, baritan, buncisan, angguk, wayang kulit gagrag Banyumas,aksimuda, cowongan, laisan, ·aplang/dhaeng, karawitan, ujungan dan Seni tutur Begalan.Seni Tutur Begalan is one religious or ritual art because it is performed in a specifictraditional wedding ·ceremony in Banyumas. The marriage is specific when it isbetweenthe eldest daughter and the eldest son, the youngest daughter and theyoungest son, the eldest daughter·and the youngest son, and the youngestdaughterand the eldest son. Educational values ·in seni tutur Begalan include,among others, the following;(1) religious values can be found in a variety ofcomponents in the offering .preparedfor the Begalan ceremony, reflecting therelationship between people and good, people and the nature, and people andpeople (habluminallah-habluminannas); (2). social values can be found in the advice orsayings throughpikulan (Brenong Kepang), suggesting a value that serious or trivialproblems canbe solved together; (3) moral values are presented through the lyricsof tembang eling-eling, reflecting three important points, namely tata krama(politeness), temen (seriousness), and .tepa selira.(tolerance), which are important insocial life

Abstract

This research discusses. the mini thesis development process which wasconducted by. Sports Science Faculty students· in the Scientific Paper Writingcourse. The. aimof this research is to· identify the·mistakes made by the students inthe mini thesis development..This research was· a descriptive study on mistakes.The. population consistedof 237 mini theses written by students of the. Faculty ofSports.. Science in the Scientific Paper Writing course in the academic year of2006/2007. The sample consisted of100 mini theses selected by using theproportional sampling technique. The data collection instruments were a check-listand a table developed from Pedoman Tugas Akhir UNY 2003 (Thesis GuidelinesYogyakarta State University2003). The data were analyzed by using the descriptivequantitative technique involving percentage. The results of this research showedthat in the mini thesis writing, technically, students made mistakes mostly ingrammar, spelling and punctuation, .writing rules,and content. In the writingorganization,the most common mistakes were made in the middle part, while themistakesin the introductory part and those in the closing were evenly balanced.

Abstract

Up to now, science educators are still confronted with· studentswho areunmotivated to learn science. They are generally unwilling to learn science forconceptualunderstanding. They relyon less appropriate learning strategies such asdistorting scientific knowledge to fit their existing knowledge, mindlesslyanswering questions, copying answers from others, or not completing their work.They also spend time and effort focusing·on less important learning.outcomes, .suchas memorizing science vocabulary or factual.information, rather than achievingscientific understanding. On the other hand,it is believed that motivation is animportant factor in the process of student learning for· conceptual understanding.This isa· sufficient reason for science educators to consider the .importance ofscience teaching strategies to increase students' motivation in the process ofstudent learning. In addition, they need to develop, refine, and reform the processof teachingand learning science itself. There are at least· three strategies they canuse to increase students' motivation to learn science for conceptual understanding:1) using immediate students' environment as learning· sources; 2) selectinginstruction materials related to students' existing knowledge;3) relating instructionmaterials to students' daily life needs. Finally, science educators haveto be awareof the importance of affective aspects and students' motivation to learn. They haveto decidehow to conduct instruction that can help students learn in meaningfulways, including understanding of why, where,and what for students learn science

Abstract

The Indonesian language teachingand learning is essentially focused on theability to use the four major language skills (writing, reading, speaking andlistening) in real life.An attempt to improve the skills can be made by changing theclassical teaching model into a modernand creative one. Such a change does notmean eliminating the existing teachingand learning models, but trying to developand combine them with a modern one. Therefore, an e-Iearning-based basedteachingand learning method needs to be implemented in the Indonesian languageteachingand learning process.. The use of e-Iearning in this process will·overcomesome problems related to time, distance,materials,. and costs which have been theproblems for teachers and· students. The useof this method .is expected to givecomplete·and various information and materials through internet downloading.Besides, other benefits, such as flexible. timeand space during the process, willresult in students' independence and creativity.
