<![CDATA[Profil perusahaan merupakan instrumen penting bagi suatu perusahaan untukmemperkenalkan perusahaan tersebut kepada masyarakat dan investor yangmemiliki potensi sebagai sebuah genre. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatankualitatif dengan kecenderungan semi kuantitatif. Pendekatan semi kuantitatif digunakan untuk menghitung presentase fitur-fitur linguistik seperti tipe proses,tenses, circumstantial elements, dan modifiers dalam nominal group, sedangkanpendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk menginterpretasikan fitur dan strukturlinguistik, serta fungsi sosial dari profil perusahaan. Data penelitian diambildengan teknik random sampling yang terdiri dari 134 klausa dari profil-profilperusahaan yang diambil dari situs resmi lima perusahaan yaitu Sony Corporation,Chevron Corporation, Martha Tilaar Group, Telkomsel, dan Manulife Indonesia.Dalam menganalisis data, penulis mengaplikasikan konsep genre dari Gerot danWignell dikombinasikan dengan teori Transitivity dan konsep nominal group dariHalliday dan Matthiessen, serta metode distribusi dan teknik permutasi olehSudaryanto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil perusahaan sebagai sebuahgenre memiliki fitur dan struktur linguistik, serta fungsi sosial tertentu. Sebuah profilperusahaan memiliki fitur linguistik yang didominasi oleh partisipan spesifik,Classifier dan specific Deictic dalam nominal group, proses Material, dan SimplePresent tense. Struktur linguistik profil perusahaan terdiri dari dua bagian yaituidentifikasi dan deskripsi. Fungsi sosial profil perusahaan adalah untukmendeskripsikan suatu perusahaan dari hal yang umum ke hal yang khusus.]]>

<![CDATA[Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince is a novel written by J.K. Rowling in 2005. The purpose of research is to discuss Lord Voldemort’s character through individual psychology theory by Alfred Adler. In order to collect the data, the writer uses library research method that uses many books or sources as the reference to support the analysis. The writer also uses exponential and psychological approaches. Exponential is used to analyze the intrinsic element of the novel. Meanwhile, the individual psychology theory is used to analyze the extrinsic element of the novel. The individual psychology theory consists of striving for superiority, subjective perception, unity of personality, social interest, style of life, and self creative power. The findings of the research include the psychological problem of Lord Voldemort’s character which is called superiority complex. Each individual needs to be superior in his/her environment, but it is his/her decision to develop the superiority into positive or negative superior. In Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, Lord Voldemort’s character shows that he develops his superiority into negative superiority; that is why it can be stated that he has a psychological problem called superiority complex.]]>

<![CDATA[This research deals with the situations and conditions happened in England at the end of the seventeenth century especially about domination the man over the woman who was reflected in William Blake’s poem Earth’s Answer. Based on the fact that there are relations between history and literary, this thesis analyzes the domination the man over the woman who was reflected in William Blake’s poem Earth’s Answer. The aim of this research is to understand the poem of William Blake. Besides understanding the poem, this thesis also tries to analyze social problem about domination the man over the woman reflected in William Blake poem. The writer not only uses the library research methode but also structural approach. By using the library research method, the writer gets much information as the reference of writing this thesis. Whereas, by using structural approach the writer could understand the poem supported by history of England at the end of the seventeenth century. The result of this analysis is that focussed on the domination the man over the woman that happened in England as the result of the revolution of industry. This condition became more serious as the result of the slavery and prostitution of the woman.]]>

<![CDATA[Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang penting bagi manusia untuk menyampaikan informasi, gagasan, ataupun pertanyaan. Bahasa yang digunakan dalam berkomunikasi dapat berupa bahasa tulis dan bahasa lisan. Interaksi antara manusia dalam berkomunikasi akan menimbulkan suatu keberagaman dalam berbahasa khususnya dalam hal kosakata. Keberagaman kosakata dalam bahasa dapat dilihat didalam proses pembentukan kata dan hanya dapat dipahami sesuai dengan konteks dan komunitasnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang strukur kata baik bahasa tulis maupun bahasa lisan yang dipakai dalam komunikasi sehari-hari oleh para santriwan dan santriwati Pondok Pesantren Addainuriyah 2 Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami makna istilah yang dipakai, menjelaskan proses pembentukan istilah tersebut, dan menguraikan alasan mengapa istilah tersebut sering digunakan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang menunjukkan bahwa data yang disajikan berupa kata, bukan angka. Data berasal dari penggunaan bahasa sehari-hari santri Pondok Pesantren Addainuriyah 2 Semarang. Metode dalam pengumpulan data tersebut menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap yang meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan pencatatan kemudian dalam menganalisa data penulis menggunakan teknik Agih. Penulis menemukan 45 kata yang termasuk dalam 5 dari delapan jenis proses pembentukan kata, yaitu compounding (1), abbreviation (21), blending (20), clipping (3), dan coinage (1). Berdasarkan hasil analisis, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa proses abbreviation merupakan yang paling banyak digunakan dalam komunikasi sehari-sehari. Alasan santri Pondok Pesantren Addainuriyah 2 Semarang menggunakan istilah/kata tersebut adalah untuk efisiensi tempat dalam penulisan, memudahkan dalam pengucapan dan untuk membuat variasi dalam bahasa komunitasnya.]]>

<![CDATA[The poem entitled “Out, Out” is a poem which was written by American poet Robert Frost in the 19 th century which is set in New England. This poem tells the story of a young boy who suddenly dies after accidentally cuts his hand with a saw. The poem focuses on people's reactions to death, as well as the death itself. The aims of this thesis are to describe the intrinsic and extrinsic elements, which explain about death. The writer used two methods to compile the data; they are library research and structural approach. To get the needed data namely theories about death and moral values, the writer used library research. Meanwhile, structural approach is used by her to support the analysis in her thesis. The writer takes intrinsic and extrinsic aspects todescribe figurative language, imagery, tone, theme and explain about people’s reactions to death especially sudden death that happen to the boy in the poem. Finally, the writer concludes that Frost explains that death may occur suddenly and without warning and as a human being, we must continue our lives even in theface of tragedy.]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis is entitled “ Motivasi Tokoh Eliza dalam Memperjuangkan Hak dan Kebebasan dari Perbudakan dalam Novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin karya Harriet Becheer Stowe”. The aims of this thesis are to analyze the characters of the novel, Eliza, George Harris and Haley. This thesis using a theory of Abraham Maslow which is related with Eliza’s motives. The theory could also be used to know the impact of Eliza’s escape. The method used in textual library research. To get the data, the writer read some books and took some notes related to the topic, either from library research or internet. The conclusion of this thesis shows that Eliza makes a great attempt to gain freedom from slavery.]]>

<![CDATA[Perkembangan teknologi mempunyai dampak positif terhadap perkembangan sebuah pengajaran. Pengajaran menggunakan media adalah sarana untuk menyampaikan informasi atau pesan dari sebuah pengajaran. Dengan menggunakan sebuah media dalam proses belajar mengajar diharapkan dapat membantu pengajar dalam menyampaikan sebuah materi yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Banyaknya hambatan yang dialami seorang murid dalam proses pengajaran seperti susahnya mereka menangkap apa yang disampakan pengajar, kurangnya konsentrasi pada waktu proses pengajaran, proses pengejaran yang monoton membuat murid cenderung bosan mengikuti pengajaran, dan susahnya murid dalam mengingat kosakata baru dari bahasa kedua yang mereka pelajari. Masalah seperti ini, diperlukan sebuah media pengajaran yang menarik minat siswa dalam belajar. Animasi adalah penggabungan unsur media lain seperti audio, teks, video, image, grafik, dan sound yang menjadi satu kesatuan dalam penyajian, sehingga mengamodasi sesuai dengan modalitas belajar siswa. Media ini sangant memiliki banyak manfaat diantaranya adalah mempermudah siswa menerima materi dan mendorong keinginan murid untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut informasi yang sedang mereka pelajari. <![CDATA[This thesis talks about a love affair, but this affair is different from the common love affairs. This scandal is not with people out of their environment but with a step cousin. This research is based on Ethan Frome novel by Edith Wharton and the affair that happens is between Ethan Frome and Mattie Silver, the cousin of Zenobia Pierce. Zenobia Pierce is Ethan Frome’s wife. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characters in the novel with their internal and external conflicts, and to express the love affair they have. In writing this thesis, the writer applied several methods, namely library research to collect data and information related to the thesis and structural approach method to analyze the characters and conflicts, psychological approach method to analyze the love affair that happens in this novel. The result of this study shows that Ethan makes a love affair scandal and the love affair scandal does not end happily.]]>

<![CDATA[Love the One You’re With is a novel written by Emily Giffin in 2008. The novel tells about the love of an obsessed woman over a man in the past. The purpose of this research is to identify Ellen Dempsey’s love and obsession as the main character of the novel. Library research is conducted in this study. The writer uses intrinsic and extrinsic theory. The analysis of intrinsic elementincludes character, setting, and conflict of the novel. Extrinsic theory includes Obsession and Sigmund Freud’s concept of id, ego, and superego. The result of the research shows that Ellen's obsession and conflicts has affected her behavior that makes her fell hesitated. This condition brings her to a conflicts that happen with herself and external conflicts with other people. Thus, it can be inferred that love is deciding to be truly committed in Love the One You’re With.]]>

<![CDATA[Lyric is a kind of poetry, an artistic work with extraordinary language, extraordinary meaning and multi-unpredictable interpretation. Lyric as a kind of artistic work is one instrument to criticize a problem in war. System of A Down in “B.Y.O.B.” and “War?” used it to criticize various social problems in a war. The objectives of this thesis are to comprehend the poem, to analyzed condition and situation of the society in Iraq War and Persian Gulf War. The methods used were library research, exponential approach and sociology approach. By applying the method of library research, the writer tried to collect some information and other important documents supporting the process of analysis. The exponential approach used to reveal and to comprehend some intrinsic elements of the poem with the idea inside of the poem. On the other hand, sociology approach used to see the description of the society in Iraq War and Persian Gulf War; the description of its society and its problems in a war. Finally, the writer concludes that System of A Down’s “B.Y.O.B.” and “War?” as critic song to various social problem in Iraq War and Persian Gulf War had given clear information about what had been done by the war to the society. By this poem, System of A Down wanted to share his feeling by criticizing the war.]]>
