Abstract

Several kind of heavy metals that present in the environment are considered as toxic substance to human and animal. Lead (Pb) is one of  heavy metals that increase in use for the last decade. Lead toxicity to human had wide influence in medical aspect, from nerve problem, bone metabolics disturbance until liver and renal failure. This experiment tried to found out the effect of cronic oral lead consupmtion to lead plasma rate in mice. Design of this experiment is true research experiment to test wheater there is an effect of oral lead consumption to acumulation of   lead in blood plasma of mice. The dose devided to two kinds, medium dose (50 ppm) and high dose (100 ppm). The results show increase of lead accumulation in blood plasma of the mice compared to control group.

Abstract

A study to know kinds of epiphytic ferns and their host plants has been conducted in Forest Park Ronggo Soeryo Cangar (FPRSC). The method used to inventory kind of ferns and their host plants is cruising method on some defined areas. These areas include (1) the back of the tourist hot Tahura R. Soejo Cangar, (2) the forest area behind the inn of FPRSC and (3) forest areas that are included in the slopes of Mount Arjuna. Once the sample is collected then be identified in the Taxonomy Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Maliki Malang. The results showed that there were 12 species of epiphytic ferns type has been found and 19 of its host tree and plant species are generally included in the staging tree.

Abstract

Porang (Amarphophallus. oncophyllus) is a type of plant tubers that have the potential and prospects for development in Indonesia. In addition to readily available, plants are also capable of producing carbohydrates and high harvest index. The last few years a very large porang needs. Porang plant propagation is vegetative and generative in which to make the seeds are ready to harvest takes between 4-6 months. This study aims to determine kinds of the appropriate medium for growing plants porang network and determine the concentration  of  each  medium,  so  we  get  a  superior  porang  plants.  Research  using factorial completely randomized design. The first factor is a growth regulator BAP concentration: 0 mg / l, 0.5 mg / l, 1.0 mg / l, 1.5 mg / l and 2.0 mg / l, while the second factor is the concentration of IBA 0 mg / l, 0.5 mg / l and 1.0 mg / l, in order to obtain 15 treatments and each treatment made 15 replications. Data were collected for the pengkalusan, contamination callus, callus mortality rate, number of buds, leaf buds height, number of leaves and root. The results showed that the addition of plant growth regulators (hormones) BAP in MS medium effect on the number of shoots, buds and the high number of young leaves. The addition of hormone IBA in MS medium pengkalusan affect the process and the number of roots. The addition of hormone BAP and IBA on MS medium did not significantly affect mortality contamination callus and callus. The interaction between BAP and IBA hormone given on MS medium did not significantly affect the pengkalusan, contamination callus, callus mortality rate, number of buds, leaf buds height, number of leaves and root

Abstract

Perkembangan biologi modern telah menghasilkan keuntungan yang luar biasa bagi kesejahteraan hidup manusia, namun di sisi lain juga menimbulkan dampak negatif. Oleh karena  itu,  diperlukan  bioetika  untuk  mengawal  perkembangan  biologi  modern  agar memiliki  komitmen  terhadap  kemaslahatan  alam.  Pembelajaran  bioetika  perlu dikembangkan dengan orientasi utama pada pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Metode yang dapat dilakukan adalah melalui pengembangan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan model ABCDE. Selain untuk mengawal perkembangan biologi modern, bioetika juga penting untuk membelajarkan etika lingkungan yang bersumber pada etika biosentrisme dan etika ekosentrisme, sebab etika antroposentrisme cenderung mengantarkan perilaku manusia menjadi eksploitatif terhadap alam.

Abstract

Candida  albicans  is  the  most  oportunis  fungi  that  cause  flour  albus.  Cinnamomum burmanni have been widely known as therapy for flour albus. This efect caused by its chemical compound such as cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, cinnamic acid, limonene, cathecin, coumarin, linalool, and tannin. This research aims was to know the comparison of antifungal potency of Cinnamomum burmanni on Candida albicans in vitro. The design was true experimental. The decoction concentrations of Cinnamomum burmanni that were used were 8%, 4%, 2%, 1%, 0.5%, 0.25%, and 0.125% with three time repetition. The data was analized with One-way ANOVA test with convidence interval 95% (p 0.05). One-way ANOVA test gave result Cinnamomum burmanni had antifungal potency against Candida albicans. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Cinnamomum burmanni was 1%. Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC) of Cinnamomum burmanni was 2%. The conclusion was Cinnamomum burmanni had antifungal potency against Candida albicans in vitro.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui efek vitamin C dalam medium DMEM terhadap pertumbuhan sel paru-paru fetus hamster secara in  vitro dan untuk mengetahui pada konsentrasi berapakah vitamin C dalam medium DMEM yang berpengaruh paling efektif terhadap pertumbuhan sel paru-paru fetus hamster secara in vitro.  Penelitian  ini  merupakan penelitian  eksperimental dengan    6  perlakuan  dan  2 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan tersebut adalah vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 0mM (kontrol), 5mM, 10mM, 15mM, 20mM, dan 25mM. Vitamin C dengan berbagai konsentrasi tersebut ditambahkan ke dalam medium DMEM dan selanjutnya digunakan untuk menumbuhkan sel paru-paru fetus hamster. Sel paru-paru fetus hamster diisolasi dari fetus hamster berumur 2 hari, ditumbuhkan dalam medium DMEM yang sudah ditambah dengan vitamin C dengan berbagai konsentrasi dan diinkubasi dalam inkubator CO2 5% pada suhu 370C selama beberapa hari sampai biakan sel-sel tersebut konfluen. Setelah konfluenbiakan sel diamati persentase konfluen, viabilitas dan abnormalitas sel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 0mM (kontrol), 5mM, 10mM, 15mM, 20mM, dan 25mM dalam medium DMEM mampu menghasilkan persentase konfluen berturut-turut 50%, 65%, 72.5%, 82.5%, 87.5%, dan 92.5% dan  persentase viabilitas sel sebesar 89%, 94.5%, 94%, 93%, 94%, dan 96.5%. Sedangkan konsentrasi vitamin C yang efektif  terhadap  pertumbuhan  sel  paru-paru  fetus  hamster  secara  in  vitro  adalah konsentrasi 25mM.

Abstract

Air merupakan kebutuhan pokok dan esensial bagi manusia dan makhluk hidup di muka bumi ini, oleh karena itu keberadaannya merupakan anugerah teragung yang dilimpahkan Allah  Swt  kepada  seluruh  makhluknya, sebab  dengan  air  Allah  menghidupkan segala makhluk di atas bumi ini, menyebarkan rejeki melalui pemanfaatannya sebagai zat yang menumbuhkan  tanaman,  sebagai  minuman  bagi  binatang  ternak  dan  bahkan  sebagai sumber energi yang dapat diperbaharui. Disisi lain air juga dapat mendatangkan bahaya dan bencana besar bagi ekosistem makhluk hidup di muka bumi ini seperti datangnya banjir, air pasang di tepi laut dan longsor. Namun datangnya bencana tersebut apakah disebabkan oleh kesalahan alam ataukah manusia yang salah mengelola alam ini. Maka pada penelitian ini penulis akan mengungkap bagaimana pandangan al-Quran tentang air dari  segi  manfaatnya sebagai  sumber  kehidupan  sehingga  dapat  menambah  wawasan tentang air dari perspektif al-Quran.
