Abstract

Studies about the role of music therapy to the completion of mathematical questions on three subjects (N=3), children with attention deficit symptoms were placed at psychology service center for children with special need, at Malang. Music therapy was applied, where the children is only listening to the music without any activities in 10 minutes. The aim of music therapy are to condition the children in order to be more calm and ready to accept the lesson well. Data collection used were within-subject design. Data analyzed used a chi square for one sample test. The result showed that there were effect of music therapy to the completion of mathematical questions on children with attention deficit symptoms. The accuracy effect turned into two from three of the subject (p= 0,05) and the speed effect turned into two from three of the subject (p= 0,05).

Abstract

Basically preschool age children should be aware that each individual has thoughts, feelings, desires, and other mental conditions which is different from himself. This awareness is known as theory of mind, and one of the factors that could be expected to stimulate the ability of theory of mind is the intensity of the interaction between children and their siblings. The basic concept of the theory used in this study is the cognitive development of sociocultural perspectives of leading experts Lev Vygotsky. The study was conducted in three schools Kindergarten (TK) in Yogyakarta, with the subject as much as 31 children aged 47-69 months. The measurements used are false belief task, and Scale "intensity of interaction between children and siblings" were made by researchers. Siblings age limit is a maximum of 12 years of age brother and sister at least 1 year of age. Data analysis using binary logistic regression analysis, the results of analysis show that the value of Wald 1.036 (p 0.05), so it can be concluded that the intensity of the interaction between children and siblings are not able to predict the ability of theory of mind. It is suspected the influence of siblings and their age difference in the way children interact with siblings between Western and Eastern cultures, including cultures in Indonesia

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parenting on social anxiety in adolescents. This study involved 230 adolescents with authoritarian parenting with an average 30.37. Retrieval of data using Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ), Liebowitz Anxiety Scale- Children and Adolecents (LSAS-CA). Significance test shows F count 107.678. Significant conclusion of this model and can be used to predict the role of authoritarian parenting to social anxiety in adolescents. The result showed that social anxiety in adolescents can be affected by direct authoritarian parenting.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify and explains the bullying behavior among adolescent, especially in the orphanage. The research was also to investigate the effect of peer attachment and self-esteem on orphanage adolescent of bullying behavior. This research involved about 270 adolescent (13-18 years old, M=15,40 years old, S.D.=1,275) which stayed in 14 orphanages in the Malang city. The collection of data was using the instruments of the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument (APRI). The results of this research show us that peer attachment and self-esteem is take effect very significant on orphanage adolescent of bullying behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the educational playing game based on media to improve numerical ability on second grade student at SDN Wonotirto, Bulu, Temanggung. The subject were 10 student, that divided into two groups, experimental group (5 students) and control group (5 students). They are second grade student at SDN Wonotirto, Bulu, Temanggung. The design of experiment which used is pretest and posttest control group design. The methods of data analysis techniques use Mann - Whitney U. The result of the data analysis showed a significant differences between post-test of experimental group and the control group with level of p = 0.032. It means there are differences numerical ability between the control group and the experimental group. The mean score of the experimental group after the treatment was given greater compared with the control group (7.5 3.5). So, educational playing game based on media is effective to improve the numerical ability

Abstract

This reserach aimed to determine the effectiveness of the training of career planning to improves the self efficacy in career decision making. As the design of study, the research used randomized pre test post test with control group design. This study used 30 students as the subjects, which divided into two groups: 15 subjects as the experimental group and 15 subjects as the control group. Scale of the self efficacy incareer decision making was used to collecting the data, which was prepared by researcher. The results of the analysis using the Independent Sample t-Test showed that, t= 4.412 and p=0,000 (p0,05). The results of the analysis using thePaired Sample t-Test showed that, t=-6.400 and p=0,001 (p0,05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the training of the career planning could be increased the self efficacy in career decision making.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the psychological dynamics of child sex offenders. This research was social psychology. Method of the research was qualitative method with phenomenological strategy. Participatns were 5 children from LP Anak Kelas II A Blitar. Participants were sexual offenders. Results from this study show that child sex offenders due to factors impulse or peer support, teenage sex drive increases, and with a broken family relationships.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine differences in happiness of married couples with preparation and without preparation. The subjects were members of the community Young Mommy Tuban (N= 44) . The method used was quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. Retrieving data using two scales, the scale adaptation of Authentic Happiness Scale developed by Martin Seligman (1980) consists of 23 items and the scale of Marriage Preparation which is based on the theory of Blood (1978), which consists of 26 item. The main analytical method used is the analysis of T-test. Based on the results of the study, showed that a married couple with the preparation had higher happiness than married couples without preparation. Resilience was found to be a major shaper aspects of happiness in a married couple with preparation and without preparation. Wedding happiness is found decreased based on length of marriage. The findings of other studies further discussed in the description below.

Abstract

This study aims to determine adversity quotient of students with disabilities (blind) in resolving and overcoming difficulties while studying in college. The informants are three visually impaired students who are already taking classes for four semesters and follows the student college organization. This study used qualitative methods of phenomenology. The data in this study comes from the words and actions of informants obtained by using observation and interviews. The data analysis used coding techniques. Results from this study indicate adversity quotient obtained from the collaboration of the four dimensions of adversity quotient, which is control, origin and ownership, reach, and endurance. Adversity quotient students with disabilities (blind) are influenced by internal and external motivational factors, perseverance, learning, risk taking behavior, competitiveness, and independence. In addition, a sense of gratitude for the conditions experienced, the experience of all the difficulties, and extensive network of friends also affects their adversity
