Abstract

Application of natural dyes in textile coloring has been widely used because it is more environmentally friendly than synthetic dyes and is able to produce various colors from one natural dye. In this study, cotton fabric was treated with chitosan at different concentrations (0, 0.25%, 0.5%, and 1%) to determine its effect on the color fastness using mango leaves extract as natural dyes. Fastness to ironing, washing and sun drying of chitosan-treated samples were measured and compared with untreated samples. The effect of using different types of mordants (ferrous sulphate and alum) was also investigated. Coloring of the dyed fabric was evaluated in terms of color parameters (L* a* b*) and the dye absorption was evaluated using K/S values. The results showed that the color fastness to wet and dry rubbing at each concentrations of chitosan and different types of mordants were good. However, the fabric processed with ferrous sulphate has a lower value of color fastness to ironing than that with alum. The color fastness to washing showed quite good results. The color fastness to sun drying showed that the cotton fabric with or without pre-treatment with chitosan showed good results. However, the value of fabric processed with ferrous sulphate showed very good values compared to alum. High values of K/S were obtained on fabrics pre-treated with chitosan for all types of mordants. Fabric processed with alum showed high color brightness.

Abstract

This research aims to design injection molding unit construction for combined spoon and fork products that are in accordance with industrial standards. The mold unit designed consists of two kinds of layouts, namely grid layout and radial layout, the combined product spoon and fork grid layout that will be used is the LKM AI 4050 moldbase standard and the radial layout spoon and fork combined product will be used is the LKM AI 6065 moldbase standard. The optimum mold construction uses a grid layout and block runner system with dimensions of 400 x 500 mm which have a clamping force of 1,587.08 kN. Examples of machines that can be used are JSW J180AD injection machines with a maximum clamping force of 1770 kN.

Abstract

Mesin-mesin di PT IJK bekerja selama 22 jam setiap hari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen yang tinggi. Sehingga perlu dilakukan perawatan mesin, PT IJK menerapkan corrective maintenance dan juga preventive maintenance pada beberapa mesin saja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ada dua. Pertama adalah membuat penjadwalan preventive maintenance. Kedua adalah mengetahui potensi kegagalan dan jenis tindakan perawatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada divisi refrigerator dan difokuskan pada mesin yang memiliki downtime paling tinggi dan metode yang dipilih pada penelitian ini yaitu Reliability Centered Maintenance karena bisa menentukan apa yang seharusnya dilakukan perusahaan untuk menjamin suatu sistem dapat berjalan dengan baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan delapan tahap, yaitu penentuan stasiun dan komponen kritis mesin, pengujian reliability, penentuan akar penyebab masalah, penentuan prioritas, menentukan kegiatan maintenance yang cocok, perhitungan interval waktu antar kerusakan, perhitungan Mean Time To Failure dan Mean Time To Repair, dan perhitungan frekuensi inspeksi optimal serta interval pemeriksaan. Stasiun yang memiliki frekuensi downtime paling tinggi yaitu Cabinet PU dengan kerusakan komponen mesin yang paling tinggi yaitu mixing head dan conveyor. Komponen mesin mixing head dan conveyor diperoleh hasil inspeksi sebanyak 1 dan 2 kali dalam satu bulan. Sedangkan untuk hasil kegiatan maintenance yang cocok yaitu time-directed life-renewal task dan time-directed life-renewal task & failure finding task.

Abstract

Bule-bule Garmen adalah salah satu industri garmen yang memproduksi berbagai macam variasi dari kain batik seperti kemeja, dress, tas, dompet, dan lain sebagainya. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, diperoleh dugaan sementara bahwa terdapat masalah postur kerja yang tidak ergonomis sehingga dapat menimbulkan gangguan musculoskeletal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang alat bantu untuk mengurangi risiko postur kerja operator. Proses analisis risiko postur kerja menggunakan metode Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), sehingga diperoleh nilai postur kerja yang paling tinggi yaitu pada aktivitas penjahitan dan menginspeksi produk. Pada penelitian ini berfokus pada aktivitas mengispeksi produk. Tahapan selanjutnya yaitu perancangan alat bantu menggunakan proses pengembangan produk Ulrich dan Eppinger. Pada tahap ini diperoleh tiga alternatif konsep desain yang selanjutnya akan dipilih satu konsep desain yang paling baik. Konsep desain yang dipilih yaitu konsep desain dua. Konsep desain dua yaitu bak dengan sistem penggerak semi otomatis, mekanisme berupa automation use induction motor yang dioperasikan dengan menggunakan push button. Material rangka yang digunakan yaitu aluminium profil. Bentuk wadah yaitu bak, dengan material kayu. Simulasi dilakukan menggunakan software Jack dan diperoleh skor postur kerja yaitu 5 (sedang), dimana sebelum dilakukan perbaikian skor postur kerja yaitu 10 (tinggi).

Abstract

There is no system used for booking a photo studio, making it quite difficult for customers to book a photo studio at Reflection Photography Yogyakarta. To book the photo studio, clients have to come in person, through WhatsApp chat, or by phone call. However, the studio is often slow in replying to WhatsApp chats from customers. Additionally, the recording of ordering data is still done manually using paper and transaction reports made using Microsoft Excel. The purpose of this research is to develop an information system to overcome these problems. The system built is web-based and uses the prototyping method. This system was tested by two tests, black-box and usability testing. For black-box test results, all the features tested show conformity as expected. As for the usability test results, all tested technical aspects showed 94.29% that the system considered as easy to use by users.

Abstract

Micro hydro power plants are small-scale power plants that use hydropower as their driving force. Hydropower can come from irrigation channels, rivers or natural waterfalls, which are used by utilizing the waterfall height (head) and the amount of water discharge. The main components of this plant are the turbine and generator. The load on the micro hydro generator will affect the value of the voltage and frequency generated. This research attempts to make a micro hydro generator with automatic frequency control using dummy load in the form of inductance which is obtained using variac. The generator output voltage and current will be read by Arduino as a control center using the ZMPT101B AC voltage sensor and ACS712 current sensor. The generator output frequency is read by reading the travel time of 1(one)full wave. This research is also equipped with a variable monitoring system for micro hydro generator using Labview. From the observations of the research data, it was revealed that the frequency output of the micro hydro generator with an automatic dummy load controller was close to the value of the mesh frequency, namely 51 - 52 Hz.
