<![CDATA[This study aims to determine effect of boiling time, concentration of curing materials: salt, palm sugar, ginger and lemon grass, and interaction between boiling time and concentration of curing materials on the hedonic quality test of shredded broiler chicken. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with factorial pattern with 2 factors namely factor boiling time (P) with 3 levels of treatment and factor concentration of curing materials (C). The observed parameters include colour, smell and flavour of shredded broiler chicken performed using the panels to assign values of the samples characteristic. The research showed the hedonic quality test of colour and smell characteristics of shredded broiler chicken had no significant effect, while the hedonic quality test of flavour characteristic had very significant effect. <![CDATA[The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of various probiotics product on the growth and egg production of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica). The study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment 5 replicates. The results showed that use of various probiotics product very significant effect on feed intake at fifth week. The use of various probiotics product effectively improve body weight gain at first week and fifth week. The efficiency of feed use is indicated on feed use of probiotics at fifth week. Various probiotics product effective in improving hen day up 66.43 to 67.62% compared with no probiotics. Key words : Quail, probiotics, growth, production.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine optimal stocking density of Climbing perch larvae were reared in container. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications that was stocking density 10 larva/L (A), 20 larva /L (B), and 30 larva /L (C). The observed parameters were the survival of the Climbing perch larvae and water quality include water temperature, DO (dissolved oxygen), and pH. The results showed the highest survival rate in treatment A in the amount of 55%, followed by treatment B 45.8%, and the lowest by treatment C 38%. Water quality parameter were in the tolerance range of Climbing perch larvae with temperature 27.1 – 27.0OC, DO (dissolved oxygen) 3.8 - 5.3 mg / L and pH 4.6 – 6.6. <![CDATA[This study aims to determine the weight ratio for crossbreeding between male brood of Clarias nieuhofii and female brood of Clarias batrachus . The observation of the fertilized eggs, shows that: Treatment C, fertilized eggs reached (89%); treatment B (86%), and treatment A (63%). It showed that the ratio of male and female parent was very significant effect on the success of fertilization, as well as on the level of hatching eggs: Treatment of C (38.202%); B (33.72%); and A (15.87%). Survival rate of crossbred seeds had a level of normalcy: 83.335%. The results of this study prove that this crossbreeding is feasible to do. <![CDATA[This study aimed was to know the effect of Trichoderma sp compost on the growth and production of Setaria grass (Setaria spachelata) and to know the dosage of Trichoderma sp compost that giving the best result to the growth and production of Setaria grass. This research was designed by using Completely Random Design (CRD) with single factor experiment that was the dosage of Trichoderma sp compost : 0 ton ha-1, 10 ton ha-1, 20 ton ha-1 , 30 ton ha-1 and 40 ton ha-1. The result showed that the applications of Trichoderma sp compost giving the effect to the number of tillers (4, 6, 8 week after planting), the crop height in 6 and 8 week after planting and the crop wet weight. <![CDATA[This study aimed to examine the preference of Chironomidae (Diptera) to choice the types of water media for ovipositor sites. Water media types that used in this study were: (A) water of African catfish pond (B) water media with 12.5 g of dry waste of African catfish pond (C) water media with 12.5 g of dry chicken manure ( D) water media with 12.5 g of dry grass and (E) water media as a control. The parameters observed, covering the days there were eggs and larvae of Chironomidae on water media, population of larval Chironomidae, body length of Chironomidae larvae and water quality. The results of this study indicated that Chironomidae tend to preferred places to ovipositor in water containing high nutrient and media that have the complexity of the habitat structure. Chironomidae began to ovipositor in the media provided on day 5th. The highest population Chironomidae larvae were obtained in water media containing dry grass. Average body length of Chironomidae larvae at 8th day age was 5.943 ± 0.875 mm. The water quality in this research was still in the optimal range for survival of Chironomidae larvae. The water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and TDS during the study ranged from 28.83 to 29.37 OC, 6.73 to 7.71, 3.40 to 6.93 mg/L, and 24 to 158 mg/L respectively. <![CDATA[The research aims to get new innovative work to process fishstick which is rich of fiber and nutritious by adding seaweed through diversification technology of fish processing by using fish caught and seaweed which are quite abundant in several areas in Central Kalimantan Province. The research using experimental method using simple RAL with 4 treatments on the additional seaweed flour (Eucheuma cottonii) 0%, 1%, 3% and 5%. Research activities including chemical test (water, protein, and fiber) and organoleptic test. Based on chemical test on water, protein, and fiber content show different results. The lowest of average water content is showed by adding 3% of seaweed flour. The higest precentage is showed without additional of seaweed flour treatment (control) the higest colour average will get by adding 5% of seaweed flour. The higest aroma will show on additional 1% seaweed treatment. The higest taste and crispiness show on additional 3% of seaweed flour. Key words : Seaweed, snack, fishstick.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the level of adaptability of Tambakan (Helostoma temminckii) were caught from Sebangau river through the process of domestication, and to know the stages in the domestication process. Study was done from April to July 2016. The research method used was observation. For domestification, 500 fishes were reared in plactic tank with the size of 3x2x1 m, and 75 cm of water depth. Feed were given as much as 3% of the fish weight/day, and feeding was done twice a day (morning and afternoon). Survival rate (SR) of fishes during the rearing period amounted to 81%. Feed Conversion Ratio obtained was 3.3. The average weight gains of fishes were 3-4 g / fish every two weekly sampling. The condition of water quality of domestification tank were dissolved oxygen (DO) 3.6 mg/L, pH 7.2 and temperature 29 0C. Key words : Domestication, Helostoma temminckii, water quality.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the growth and survival of snakehead fish (Channa striata) seeds fed with different types of feeds. The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replicates that were fed with earthworms, snails, and pellets. The results showed that the different types of feeds very significant effect on the growth of snakehead fish seed. Absolute weight growth of earthworms treatment, snails treatment and pellets treatment were 0.26 g, 0.12 g and 0.08 g respectively. The survival of snakehead fish seeds during the study were 100% in all treatments. Water quality during the research was still in range for growth and survival of snakehead fish seeds.
