Abstract

Government-Owned Property (GOP) management, including the bookkeeping of GOP transaction, is part of GOP Officer responsibility to ensure the quality of transaction data. This responsibility also applies to GOP Officer in Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics ‘Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika’ (BMKG). GOP data as the source for the Central Government Financial Report is expected to be well-maintained. It must be presented as accurate as possible, although there are still inaccurate data presented in the latest BMKG GOP Report. This qualitative research using document study and some interview sessions aims to measure how well the Data Quality Management (DQM) maturity of GOP transaction in BMKG using Loshin’s Data Quality Maturity model. Thus, the result of maturity assessment is analyzed to recommend and implement DQM activities from the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK). The purpose is to improve GOP DQM. The research shows that the level of DQM maturity is at a repeatable level to defined level. Moreover, 52 maturity characteristics need to be followed through with DQM activities.

Abstract

The students consider learning Javanese script to be difficult particularly in distinguishing and memorizing Carakan, and memorizing Sandangan and Pasangan with its writing rules. This work intends to develop a supporting medium for learning Javanese script. The development process is started by defining the game functionalities by using the use-case diagrams, and then, the activity diagram is created to describe the workflow of the game algorithm. The database to support the game is also created and displayed by using the physical data model. Afterward, the game algorithm script is created using JavaScript so that the game can be played through a web browser. There are 27 respondents requested to test the game and to fill in questionnaires about the web application. The results suggest that 100%of respondents agree that the web application is necessary and useful to learn Javanese script. The application provides positive benefit to the users such as students who still need to learn Javanese script in schools with 97% average success rate to run the game

Abstract

Developing a chatbot becomes a challenging task when it is built from scratch and independent of any Software as a Service (SaaS). Inspired by the idea of freeing lecturers from the burden of answering the same questions repetitively during the pre-registration process, this research has succeeded in building a textbased chatbot system. Further, this research has proved that the combination of keyword spotting technique for the Language Understanding component, Finite-State Transducer (FST) for the Dialogue Management, rulebased keyword matching for language generation, and the system-in-the-loop paradigm for system validation can produce an efficient chatbot. The chatbot efficiency is high enough as its score on Concept Efficiency (CE) reaches 0.946. It shows that users do not need to repeat their utterances several times to be understood. The chatbot performance on recognizing new concepts introduced by users is also more than satisfactory which is presented by its Query Density (QD) score of 0.80.

Abstract

The computer ability to detect human being by computer vision is still being improved both in accuracy or computation time. In low-lighting condition, the detection accuracy is usually low. This research uses additional information, besides RGB channels, namely a depth map that shows objects’ distance relative to the camera. This research integrates Cascade Classifier (CC) to localize the potential object, the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) technique to identify the human and nonhuman image, and the Kalman filter technique to track human movement. For training and testing purposes, there are two kinds of RGB-D datasets used with different points of view and lighting conditions. Both datasets have been selected to remove images which contain a lot of noises and occlusions so that during the training process it will be more directed. Using these integrated techniques, detection and tracking accuracy reach 77.7%. The impact of using Kalman filter increases computation efficiency by 41%.

Abstract

With more accessibility to the Internet and modernization of e-payment systems, the approach to address the travel requirements has dramatically changed over the years. The service offered by the Online Travel Agents (OTAs) has a huge impact on a very competitive online marketplace. The purpose of this research is to observe, examine, and analyze key factors which a consumers’ decision to use a particular travel agent website for e-hotel booking can be predicted. The data are compiled using IBM SPSS. The key methods are applied for data analysis in addition to other statistical methods including factor analysis and multinomial logistic regression analysis. The analysis of data reveals a positive association of website quality factors, product related factors, and consumer relationship factors with consumers’ decision to book from a certain travel agent website. Viewing the big picture, consumer relationship factors are found to be more influential as compared to website quality and product related factors. Moreover, the researchers reveal product price as the most influential variable, but it indicates no statistical significance with consumers’ decision. There are many different price products which are available across different travel agent websites. The convenience of payment method is found to be a significant attribute associated with the consumers’ decision to book from a travel website. In addition, attributes of travel products variety and online reviews provided by the travel websites are observed to be statistically significant. This research indicates the trends of consumer decision-making for e-hotel booking in Indonesia.

Abstract

In recent years, smartphones have become more popular. Along with the increasing number of smartphone users, more features are requested by the users which can be used to solve their daily life problems. One of the most popular applications is related to location-based detection. Almost all smartphones have a feature of Global Positioning System (GPS). It can help users to go from one place to another place without getting lost by connecting to Google Map. However, there are some limitations to the GPS. When the GPS is used inside a building, it is difficult to search where the users are located, on which floor or room they are, and how to access the room inside the building. It is because GPS cannot show the user which level or room location the users are currently at. One of the possible solutions is using an Indoor Positioning System (IPS) which can detect an object or person inside a building by producing some signals that can be received by smartphones. This research aims to develop an application to monitor the movement of humans inside a building with low cost and low energy by using Android smartphones as the medium. It can get the coordinate of location by using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon inside the building. It can also be used to detect multiple users in the same room.

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a network consisting of several sensor nodes that communicate with each other and work together to collect data from the surrounding environment. One of the WSN problems is the limited available power. Therefore, nodes on WSN need to communicate by using a cluster-based routing protocol. To solve this, the researchers propose a node grouping based on distance by using k-means clustering with a hardware implementation. Cluster formation and member node selection are performed based on the nearest device of the sensor node to the cluster head. The k-means algorithm utilizes Euclidean distance as the main grouping nodes parameter obtained from the conversion of the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) into the distance estimation between nodes. RSSI as the parameter of nearest neighbor nodes uses lognormal shadowing channel modeling method that can be used to get the path loss exponent in an observation area. The estimated distance in the observation area has 27.9% error. The average time required for grouping is 58.54 s. Meanwhile, the average time used to retrieve coordinate data on each cluster to the database is 45.54 s. In the system, the most time-consuming process is the PAN ID change process with an average time of 14.20 s for each change of PAN ID. The grouping nodes in WSN using k-means clustering algorithm can improve the power efficiency by 6.5%.
