Abstract

The background of this study is the low literacy pehaman students, it nini caused by: (1) the ability of students to understand the content of the discourse is still low, it can be seen that only a fraction of the number of students who were able to mention the basic ideas and explanatory discourse; (2) the difficulty of students to identify the views or mandate contained in a discourse, it is seen when asked to mention the views or mandate in the discourse of only one to two students who are able to mention properly; (3) the ability of students to infer the contents of a student discourse is still struggling, it is seen when asked to infer the content of a discourse is also only one or two students to infer the contents of a discourse well; and (4). The difficulty students find important sentences in a discourse, it is seen when given the task of daily tests, most students is difficult to answer. To overcome the lack of ability of the students' reading comprehension strategies writers apply DRA (Directed Reading Activity). This research is a class act who performed two cycles each cycle performed in two meetings. The research was conducted in SDN003 Pagaran Tapah Darussalam, the research subjects were students of class V with the number of 20 students. This study was conducted with four stages, namely: (1) planning; (2) the implementation of the action; (3) observation; and (4) reflection. Based on the survey results revealed that students' reading comprehension before action classical gained an average of 49.80, in the first cycle increased to 63.50, while the second cycle increased by an average of 86.00 with a classical high category.

Abstract

The background of this study is the low interest in learning civics class V students SD Negeri 008 Bukit Kayu Kapur. It is caused by: (a) very few number of students active during the learning process by using group work; (b) the need for students to ask questions or submit proposals to the lack of teachers is organized so that the impression received by the students are less significant; (c) although the number of students is ideal, but the enthusiasm of students in learning is still less visible, especially at the time of the question and answer; (D) of the 23 students were only 11 or 47.8% of students are serious in taking into account the subject matter of civic education takes place, whereas other students do not pay attention to lessons with enthusiasm; and (e) although the teacher has done a variety of ways, but have not been able to increase students' interest in learning, meaning ways done to date has not brought significant progress to increase their interest in learning. For that conducted the research with the aim to increase students' interest in learning civics through the implementation of cooperative learning model STAD. This classroom action research conducted in SDN 08 Bukit Kayu Kapur, the research was conducted pad from January to June 2009. The subjects were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 008 Bukit Kayu Kapur amounting to 23 students. Parameters measured research is student interest, teacher and student activity. Results showed that student interest has increased in the first cycle average student interest obtained a score of 86 (62.60%), the second cycle increased by an average score of 108 (78.30%). Additionally teacher activity also increased, in the first cycle average teacher activity score was 30 (67.00%), increased in the second cycle with an average score of activity of teachers and 38 (84.00%). Student activity also increased in the first cycle an average score of student activity is, increased in the second cycle with an average score of 164 (79.10%). It can be concluded from the results of class V students studying civics A SDN 08 Bukit Kayu Kapur can be increased through the implementation of cooperative learning model STAD.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low results of third-grade students learn math SD Negeri 009 Tembilahan, as seen from the mastery learning students, from 31 students only 11 students (35.48%), which reached the specified KKM is 70. To be improved learning through research by applying a talk think write strategy (TTW). The purpose of this research is to improve mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the strategy talk think write strategy (TTW). This research is a class act who performed at SD Negeri 009 Tembilahan with third grade students study subjects with the number of students 31 students. This study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings and one daily tests. Research carried out through four stages: stats phase, the implementation phase, the stage of observation and reflection stages. The data used in this study focuses on improving learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used in this research is the engineering test, and analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis. The study states that the results of students' mathematics learning has increased after applied talk think write strategy (TTW). This is evidenced by the thoroughness and the acquisition of mathematics learning outcomes of students has increased. On the preliminary data the number of students reaching the KKM is 13 students (41.94%) with an average of 61.55 learning outcomes. In the first cycle increased with the number of students who completed or reached KKM total of 20 students (64.52%) with average learning results obtained at 68.71. And the second cycle mastery increased by 28 students (90.32%) with the average achieved learning outcomes at 79.68.
