Abstract

Bali has been well known as the jewel of the tourism in Indonesia, and its beautyfulness can enchanted all the tourists who visited it. Despite the tragic incident of terrorist bombing in 2002 and 2004, Bali still become one of the most visited place by the tourists from all over the world. However one article from TIME magazine, has been delivering quite a heavy blow for Bali tourism. The article stated that having a holiday in Bali is just like having a holiday in Hell. Eventhough its only due to the garbage waste in the Kuta beach, this article is refering to all tourist destination in Bali as a whole. Some major action should be implied by the local government and its people so the pride of Bali tourism can be saved.

Abstract

Art will constantly evolve in term of its function as time passes. The same goes with the art in Bali, with regard to Barong Keris dance in particular. To Balinese people, Barong Keris dance is an expression of beauty and religious values are considered to be inherent. In Bali economic development can go in harmony with cultural development. Tourism, as it has gone through its spiral process, has helped thrusting creativity in art creation. That is because the people of Bali are able to accomodate the incoming foreign culture.

Kontroversi atas peran bahasa pertama dalam pemerolehan bahasa kedua telah dihasilkan dari istilah yang tersamar dan berbagai istilah dari “pencampuran” dan “pemindahan.” Bila berbagai istilah tersebut dijelaskan dan ketika data empiris dikumpulkan, tampaknya ada suatu konvergensi / titik temu mengenai pendapat tentang peran bahasa pertama dalam pemerolehan bahasa kedua.

Abstract

The fact that ownership and usage of some ICT-based electronic devices have been so widespread should not be ignored by the teaching of foreign languages, especially ESL. Some subjects of English teaching can make the most of some computer / Internet applications that have been previously popular, such as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, Blogging Platforms, and so on. The ways that those applications could be integrated in the process of ESL teaching is described and whether the integration could conform to the norms of effectiveness of application (PICCA) is analyzed.

Abstract

The role of transportation in developing the tourism industry can not be underestimated. The tourism industry is supported by transportation without the 'well organize' is not likely to experience progression. This is experienced by the tourism industry in Bali. With the development of the tourism industry in Bali, the role of transportation could no longer be separated. Taxi transportation in Bali is growing rapidly. Taxis operating in Bali are over quota. This gives rise to unfair competition. As happened in early 2010, in Bali had been a confusion between the taxi and its driver. As a result of confusion between the taxi fleet in Bali would also affect the development of tourism in Bali. The tourists were afraid to use taxis. One of the efforts undertaken to address problems that occur related to taxi transport is by conducting education and training.

Abstract

Kuta Beach is the most famous tourist destination in Bali. People from all over the world come to Kuta Beach for sunbathing on the white sand, watching the sunset, swimming, and surfing. Sometimes people are too excited in doing water activities, and Kuta Beach is not a risk-free tourist object. Every water activity might cause accident, injury, or even death. Therefore, the supervision of Balawista Kuta as a lifeguard team is very important for preventing unexpected water accident in the area of Kuta Beach.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendiskusikan hubungan antara bahasa dan komunikasi. Aspek yang dibicarakan mencakup hal-hal berikut: theori-teori komunikasi, peranan bahasa dalam komunikasi, dan beberapa benang merah yang yang dapat disimpulkan dari berbagai teori komunikasi tersebut. Dari analisis berbagai teori tersebut ditemukan tiga benang merah (common threads) yaitu bahwa bahasa merupakan alat utama kmomunikas, bahwa dalam proses komunikasi selalu akan dijumpai kemungkinan kesalahpahaman, dan bahwa kesepahaman dalam komunikasi itu sifatnya bertingkat.
