Abstract

Application of nuclear technology is very useful, but it is very risky for human health and safety. Therefore, it is necessary to control the radiation for humans and the environment.Radiation dose measurement in radiotherapy unit is considered to be a critical factor for optimizing radiation protection to the healthcare practitioners, the patient and the public. This paper presents an overview of average radiation dose measurement in public area around radiotherapy units at dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital Malang. The recomendation of critical radiation dose from BAPETEN is bellow 50 mSv/ year for radiographer and bellow 5 mSv/year for public area. The measurement of radiation dose has been done around radiotherapy units (Co-60 teletherapy and brachiterapy) using RGD 20791 surveymeter.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the most dominant factors that make domestic tourists interested in visiting Batu city. The sample of this research is 100 domestic tourists. The sample was taken by using accidental sampling method. Data collection was done by distributing closed-ended questionnaires and using likert scale. The questionnaires were analyzed by using factor analysis of software SPSS 16. The findings show that factors which make domestic tourists interested in visiting Batu city are the atmosphere of townsquare at night (tourist attraction), the availability of communication facilities (amenity), transportation to tourist sites (accessibility), and tourism promotion activities (ancilliary services).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the management of records in the general and academic sub-divisions in University of Brawijaya This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. Informants in the study are the Head of the general and / or academic sub-divisions in Vocational Education, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Animal Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science. Instrument used are observation sheet, interview guide and questionnaire. The findings show that factors influencing the management of records in UB include lack of budget to support archival unit: working environment archival that include temperature, humidity, lighting; availability of the archive room; lack of employees majoring in archive; unavailability of SOP regarding record keeping in the Faculty of Brawijaya University; inadequate facilitie; and not standardized recording system. Regarding this, the faculties in University of Brawijaya, including Vocational Education Program, are suggested to have better record management for dynamic archives in the general and academic sub-division.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the readiness of the government of Malang in implementing accrual-based government accounting standards. Data were collected through observation and indepth interviews with managers and employees of the financial section on education which includes the village chief and the village secretary in Malang. The data collected was then analyzed using qualitative method by using an interpretive approach. The results show that the readiness of the government of Malang in the implementation of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards (SAP) is a reflection of a formality. This is supported by the government regulations that require all local governments, including the government of Malang, to implement accrual-based Government Accounting Standards. The complexity of the financial statements is the main factor that make the financial managers of 31 SKPD in Malang city government deny to implementat of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards. In addition, the other findings show that: 1) the understanding of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards in Kedungkandang district. (agricultural- based district) is still low; 2) the implementation of accrualbased Government Accounting Standards in Klojen district (trading-based district) is still low; 3) the understanding of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards in Klojen district. (industrial-based district) is good enough; 4) the understanding of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards in Sukun district. (industrial-based district) is fairly good; 5) the understanding of accrual-based Government Accounting Standards in Lowokwaru district. (teacher-based district) is highly good. Regarding this, in terms of organizational culture, Malang city government is obliged to apply accrual-based government accounting standards. Malang City government should conduct training for different bases of districts as well as regularly Kedungkandang agricultural base training intensity must be more than the other districts.

Abstract

The plentiful company inventories are associated with the high storage and order cost. However, the limited number of inventories results in the lack of supply shortages that could hamper the process of buying and selling on trading companies and loss of profits. During this time, PT. ABC has ordered fertilizer X and Z using rough estimates. Thus, the company sometimes has excessive or even limited amount of fertilizer X and Z which results in providing unsatisfactory service for the customers’ demand. This research was aimed to evaluate the inventory management of fertilizer X and Z at PT ABC using EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) method. Data collection was done through observation and interviews with the company. Data were analyzed using the EOQ method. The results showed that the inventory management by using the EOQ method is more efficient than the inventory management policy that has been done by the company. This is because by using the EOQ method the frequency of order is lower so the order cost will be low as well. Therefore, the company should consider using EOQ method because this method can help the company to get the optimal quantity of inventory purchases with a minimum order fee compared to the previous company policy.
