Abstract

Lack of interest in learning multiplication math causes a lack of interest in learning math and provides unsatisfactory results. Researchers tried to conduct experimental research in applying the Index Card Match learning model to the learning outcomes of multiplication math at SDN 1 Danyang Purwodadi. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest Postest design. Data collection techniques used are tests, observations, interviews and documentation. While data analysis using normality test and Simple Paired T-Test hypothesis test. The results of this study are hypothesis testing on pretests and postests which get results of 0.000 <0.05 H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. From these results, it means that the application of the Index Card Match model has an influence on the cognitive learning outcomes of multiplication math of grade IV students of SDN 1 Purwodadi.

Abstract

Issues about gender seems to be endless in various countries in the achievement of student learning outcomes, even in mathematics learning between male and female students. This qualitative research aims to explore the levels of mathematical reasoning and communication abilities of students who attend language class programs in senior high schools based on gender. Respondents were students who had abilities with different levels of ability, two each representing male and female students. Data analyze from the results of tests of mathematical reasoning and communication abilities and in-depth interviews using method and time triangulation techniques. The results show that female students are superior in reasoning and communicating than male students in solving math problems.

Abstract

Educational math game creates a fun learning experience for students. Following this rationale, this research-and-development study aims to elaborate on the process of developing ICT-assisted instructional media named “GAMA”, an educational math game tailored to Contextual Teaching Learning approach. We analyzed the feasibility of the game media to support the instruction on the concept of numbers at the first grade of elementary education. The subjects of this research were the first-grade elementary school students. The study applied the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages with an evaluation at each stage. The research results demonstrated that the game achieved a decent validity score. The practicality test, conducted through questionnaires and observations, documented a practicality score of 90.36%. In addition, the game satisfied the effectiveness test as evaluated through the comparison of students’ learning outcomes based on the N-Gain score of 0.76. This implied a significant difference between students' understanding before and after using educational math games.
