Jurnal ini merupakan terbitan berkala 6 bulan, dengan jadwal terbit bulan April dan Oktober di setiap tahunnya. Artikel pada jurnal ini ditujukan untuk mewadahi publikasi artikel yang bersumber dari mahasiswa, guru, dosen, dan pemerhati bidang pendidikan matematika maupun matematika sain. Artikel yang dimuat di jurnal ini adalah artikel hasil penelitian atau hasil kajian dengan format penulisan mengikuti kaidah ilmiah.

Abstract

This research aims is to increase the need of achievement together with the learning outcome for the students of the first grade of SMPN 4 Madiun using cooperative team game tournaments. Moreover, the use of Classroom Action Research (CAR) is indispensible. This research is done by applying  2 cycles as well. The subject of this research is the students of VII-H, in SMPN 4 Madiun, in the school year of 2015/2016. Moreover, the students who get involved in this research consists of 22 students. The data analysis shows that:The pecentage of minimal students in the high motivation achievement category of pre-action research cIass is 18,18%, the first cycle is 22,73% and the second cycle is 63,64%. The completion rate score due to Pre-CAR: 18,18%, cycle I: 22,73 %, and cycle II: 68,18%. The average score during the learning activity in cycle I is 3,06 which is classified as “good”. While, in cycle II the average score during the learning activity is 3,57. Which is classified as “good”. Teams Games Tournaments is considered as the effective way in ascending the need to achievement together with the students learning outcome. Abstract

This research aims to increase students’ interest and achievement in mathematics, using cooperative learning model of type Make a Match.  The research was conducted from April 23 up to May 3, 2016. The object of this study was the seven-year students of class-I SMPN 4 Madiun in the academic year 2015-2016 (second semester). The total number of the object was 29 students. It is a classroom action research (PTK) performed in 2 cycles. The results of the research showed that the students' interest in learning mathematics increased from the prior (PTK) to cycle I and cycle II. The students' interest in learning mathematics was 26.92% in the prior PTK,  38.46% in the first cycle, and 46.15% in the second cycle. In spite of the increase, the students' interest in learning mathematics has not reached the determined indicators of success, so it needs improving in the next cycle. The students' achievement in learning mathematics increased from the prior (PTK) to cycle I and cycle II. The students’ completion was 38.46% in the prior PTK, 61.54% in the first cycle, and 65.38% in the second cycle. The findings above might arrive at a concusion that  cooperative learning model of type Make a Match can increase students’ interest and achievement in mathematics Key words: interest in learning mathematics, achievement in learning mathematics, cooperative learning model of type Make a Match

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) determining the students mathematical reasoning ability by TAl scientific approach learning, (2) examining the student mathematical reasoning ability among the TAI scientific approach learning better than  the student mathematical reasoning ability among the expository learning. The population in this research was the 8th grade all of students from one of Junior High School at Sragen. The sample of this program was taking by cluster random sampling technic. The data obtained through of  test. The data analyzing of students mathematical reasoning ability include test for normality using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, proportion test, One Way Anova test, and further tests with LSD. The conclusions obtained were (1) mathematical reasoning abilities of students with TAI thoroughly scientific approach learning reached 89%, (2) the students mathematical reasoning abilities  with  TAI scientific approach learning (81.48) was better than the students mathematical reasoning abilities with expository learning (69.04).

Abstract

This correlational research was aimed to find out whether there is a positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding of students who was  taught by direct instructinand STAD model. The population of this research was all students of grade eighth of a Public Junior High School in Lampung Selatan. By cluster random sampling technique, there were two classes of research sample. The test method was applied to collect the data. The instruments of this research were GEFT and test of mathematical conceptual understanding of line equation material. Based on the result of hypotesis test, it was concluded that (1) there is a positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding on students who was taught by direct learning model and (2) there is no positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding on students who was taught by STAD learning model. This result implies that learning model affects mathematical conceptual understanding of student who has field dependent cognitive style.
