Abstract

The final stage of life in the elderly experienced changes of physical, psychological, or social that can effect instability of self concept. The aim of this research was to analyzed the effect of cognitive function, social interaction to self concept of elderly widows and widowers. The location of this research in Timbulharjo village, Sewon sub-district, Bantul district, Yogyakarta who chosen purposively with the consideration of the region which have the most elderly. The sample of this research was the elderly people aged more than 60 years old that have been abandoned by partner of life during grater than or equal to 2 years a go. Sample total of this research were 30 elderly widows and 30 elderly widowers. This research showed that there were not difference of cognitive function and social interaction between of elderly widows and elderly widowers, however there was difference of self concept between of elderly widows and widowers. In addition, ages and education have correlation with cognitive function, and social interaction have correlation with self concept. Meanwhile, marital status have negative influence and social interaction have positive influence to self concept so that widows status can decrease self concept of elderly, and better social interaction than better of self concept of elderly.

Abstract

The success of elderly life is characterized by the comforting conditions of loving care and attention from family and relatives, health and happy. This study aimed of this research are to determined the different, correlation and effect of communication with children and children in law and social support to success of life on elderly men and women. This research sample are choosen purposively as many as 60 young elderly aged 60-69 years old which is divided into 30 elderly men and 30 elderly women who still have a partner, children and children in law. The largest proportion of elderly on variabel communication elderly-children, communication elderly-children in law, social support and successful in elderly is in the medium category. Communication elderly-children and communication elderly-children in law has a significant positive correlation with social support. Social support is related and has a significant positive effect on the success of elderly life ,it mean that the higher social support will increase the success of elderly life

Abstract

Aim of this study is to examine the influence of social support and financial management toward family well-being in early marriage. Research was located in Cibeber II village and Karehkel village, Leuwiliang sub-district, Bogor district, West Java. Samples of this study are 60 women from an early marriage family (under 20 years old) whose children are under five years old, and willingly participate in this study. Samples were chosen purposively. Social support were positively significant correlation with financial management, objective well-being and subjective well-being. The factors that affect objective family well-being are per capita income and financial management. On the subjective family well-being, the factor of affect is per capita income and emotional social support

Abstract

Aim of this study is to examine the influence of marital adjustment and family function toward family strength in early marriage. Research was located in Cibeber II village and Karehkel village, Leuwiliang sub-district, Bogor district, West Java. Samples of this study are 60 mothers from an early marriage family (under 20 years old) whose children are under five years old, and willingly participate in this study. Samples were chosen purposively. There is of correlation showed that age of husbands and age of husbands when married were negative significant correlation with family strength. Income per capita, marital adjustment, and family function were positive significant with family strength. The factors that affect family strength are income per capita, marital adjustment, and family function

Abstract

Domestic violence is action commit by a person to harm a family member. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between domestic violence, social support with self esteem of women as a victims. The sampel were 31 women victims of domestic violence in Bogor, West Java. Sampels were selected by purposive sampling, considering that the sampel had experienced domestic violence by her husband. The result showed that there was a negative correlation between age sampel with domestic violence. In addition, the results found showed a significant positive relationship between the length of education with social support and there is also a significant positive relationship between domestic violence with self esteem of this wife
