Abstract

ABSTRACTDrug management is an activity covering planning, provision, storing, distributing, administering andrecording or reporting on the drug used. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the management of the drugsin Departement of Pharmacy Inventories (DPI) of Semarang Health Office (SHO).This research was non-experimetal in nature in which the needed data were collected retrospectively. Thecollected data were in the forms of records on the drugs plans, Records on the Use dan Requests of Drugs (RURD)and results of interviews to the DPI head. The evaluation on the drug management used eleven indicators providedby the fixed procedures for drug management in central java province. The data were converted into percentages andrupiah values, which were then analyzed descriptively.The analyses showed that the drug management by DPI during the period of 2007 had produced effectiveresults as indicated by an effectiveness level of 97,59% for the drug provision, a accuracy level of 98,19% for drugplanning, an effectiveness level of 89,76% for safe provision of the drugs, a conformity level of 100% for the drugitems to the DOEN, a percentage of 0% for average drug supply, a percentage of 2,46% for the times during whichthere was a status of empty for the drug, an abuse level of 8,35% for the miss-distribution of the drugs, a percentageof 3,15% for non-prescription drugs, a percentage of 1,57% for expired drugs with a financial value of Rp.10.094.590 and a percentage of 3,94% for broken drugs with a financial cost of Rp. 43 2.537and a accuracy level of46,62% for delivery t imes for RURD.Keywords : evaluation, drug management, DPI Semarang

Abstract

ABSTRACTIt is assumed that the use of formalin in fresh noddles is still relatively high since its use not only prolongs the market life of the noddles but also make them tougher, brighter and non-adhesive. This research was intended to (1) analyze the presence of formalin in fresh noddles, (2) find out the levels of formalin contained in fresh noddles produced by three producers and sold in Johar Market, Semarang City and (3) find out the effects of bathing the noddles in warm water on the formalin contents.This was an experimental research with descriptive analyses. Employing a convenient sampling technique, the samples for this research were taken from the noddles produced by three producers and sold at Johar Market, Semarang City. To test the presence of formalin in the noddles, a chromatropatory-acid method was used. The samples containing formalin were analyzed using a spectrophotometer at an A of 569 nm. The samples were bathed for 15 minutes at temperatures of 40° C and 50° C. The effects of the bathing were analyzed by comparing the formalin contents before and after the bathingThe analyses showed that the fresh noddles produced by Kaligawe, Boja and Lamper producers contained 230,749 ± 18,092 mg/kg, 271,749 ± 18,088 mg/kg and 250,999 ± 18,090 mg/kg respectively. The comparison of the formalin contents before and after the bathing at 40° C showed significant differences. The comparison of the formalin contents before and after the bathing at 50° C also showed significant differences. The comparison of the formalin contents after the bathing at 40° C and 40° C also showed significant differences; the 40° C bathing reduced 39.77% of the formalin content, while the 50° C bathing reduced 65.42%.Keywords: Formalin, Fresh Noddles, Bathing and Warm Water

Abstract

ABSTRACTWormy represent one of factor which can degrade human resource quality, considering wormy will persue physical growth and also work productivity. Research which is taken is experimental research as a mean to know energy of antelmintik infusa of pumpkin seed toward worm Ascaridia galli by in vitro and also its active compound content. Substance intake by random and then sampling is made in infusa supply with a few concentration series that is hereinafter tested by its activity as antelmintik to worm Ascaridia galli with immersion method. The data observed is time of worm death and sum up the dead worm every one clock. Statistic analysis which is used is Kruskal-Wallis continued by Mann-Whithney and also Anova and continued by Tukey. Result of research indicate that mean of time of worm death of Ascaridia galli after soaked in infusa of pumpkin seed in concentration 2,5%b/v, 5,0%b/v, 7,5%b/v, 10,0%b/v and successively is 9,46; 8,63; 6,08; and 5,83 clock. While after soaked in piperazin sitrat of concentration 0,4%b/v and NaCl 0,9%b/v mean of time of worm death is 8,96 and 32,37 hours. All series of concentration of infusa of pumpkin seed in this research own difference that has a meaning negative control of Nacl 0,9%b/v, so that infusa of pumpkin seed equal to 7,43%b/v while value of LC50 after soaked in piperzin sitrat 0,73%b/v. Result of KLT inspection indicate that infusa of pumpkin seed contain compound of powered saponin of antelmimtik. Keyword : Infusa of pumpkin seed, antelmintik energy, worm of Ascaridia galli.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCommon Cold is a resporatory disturbance symptom which well-marked by cough, sneez, clogged up nose,painful red lane, fever, and headache. Nowadays, people tend to have self medication to cope with Common Cold byconsuming free medicines and limited free medicines which sold freely in market. The aim in this research was toevaluate Common Cold medicines utilizat ion by people in Karanggondang Mlonggo Jepara.This research is a non-experimental study. Data was obtained from field survey by using quetionnaire thathave been filled by people in Karanggondang Mlonggo Jepara. The result in this research have being analized byusing descriptive non analytical method. Sample was taken proportionally with convenient sampling method.This research showed that description of self medicat ion on Karanggondang Mlonggo Jepara peple wassufferer frequency 40,25% then action that have been taken by Common Cold sufferer who tried to do selfmedication 77,75%, their reason to do self medication based on experience was 33%, basic of medicines choice ofself medication who fiitted in with certain medicines was 23,75%, informat ion source of respondents from books ormass media was 44,75%. The result of evaluation with Common Cold medicines utilization on KaranggondangMlonggo Jepara people showed that correct indication 80,06%, correct medicines 80,06%, correct patients 65,59%,correct dosage 72,67% and on guard of sleepy side effect which occur oftenly 35,69%.Key words : Medicines Utilization , Common Cold, Self-Medication, Karanggondang People

Abstract

ABSTRACTGreen tea is one of a herbal nature which has been proved its special virtue anti acne. Green tea leafcontains of 30-40% polifenol which is known as katekin has a characteristic as antimicroba.To make it easierto use, the extrac etanolic of green tea leaf is made in cream formulation. The purpose of this experiment is toknow variation concentration effect of green tea etanolic extract in cream formulation to the physic andantibacteria activity especially for the acne bacteria, also in spesific concentration will be find the best ofextrac etanolic green tea leaf toward physic characteristic and anti bacterial activity.In this experiment, the thick extrac of green tea leaf is obtained by maseration way of the using 50%etanol liquid. The cream is made in five formulas that is using the extrac etanolic of green tea leaf for 1%, 3%,5%, 7% and 9% concentration with the modification formula of anti acne cream. Cream is tested the physicalcharacteristic including the homogenity , isolation percent, spreading, and adhesing and also for antibacterialactivity. The data is analysed by non parametric statistical using Kruskal Wallis test continued by doing MannWhitney test with 95% of trust capacity.The result in this experiment showes that the cream of extrac etanolic form of green tea leaf in anycream concentration have good homogenity and did not isolation. As biger concentration of cream extracetanolik of green tea leaf as a smaller spreading test and adhesing test but as a biger antibacterial activitytoward Staphylococcus aureus bacterial. Cream extrac etanolik of green tea leaf as a control positive in physiccharacteristic and antibacterial activity is 7% concentration.Key words : Green tea of extract etanolic, Cream, Physic characteristic test, Bacterial activity test.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGendar is a type of food produced by adding bleng, which is a chemical compound containing borax asboros. This research was intended to find out (1) the borax contents in the gendar taken from Ambarawa areas and(2) whether there were significant differences in borax levels contained in fresh gendar, dry gendar, gendar fried infresh vegetable oil and gendar fried in used vegetable oil.This was a non-experimental research with the data analyzed descriptively and analytically. The variablesmeasured were borax levels, acting is boros, contained in fresh gendar, dry gendar, gendar fried in fresh vegetableoil and gendar fried in used vegetable oil. The samples for this research were taken randomly from three householdindustried of gendar in Ambarawa areas. The contents of borax were measured using spectrophotometri UV-Vis.The analyses on the borax content in the four types of gendars (fresh gendar, dry gendar, gendar fried in freshvegetable oil and gendar fried in used vegetable oil) used Kruskall-Wallis non-parametric statistical tests followedby Mann-Whitney tests.The analyses showed that all of the four types of gendars really contained borax, as boros, but in diffirentlevels among the diffirent gendars borax contents in the four different gendars taken from Bandungan andSumowono had significant values 0,182 and 0,643 respectively (P > 0,05), contents in the four different gendarstaken from Ambarawa areas also had a significant value of 0,004 (P < 0,05), meaning also that there werestatistically significant differences in the borax contents.Keywords : Borax, Gendar, Spectrophotometri UV-Vis.
