Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce virtual mathematics learningmedia based on goodquality of TGT for use in learning mathematics and describe how well the mathematicslearning tools quality which was produced. The quality criteria used refers to the Nieveencriteria, which are valid, practical and effective. The material that was developed was thematerial of plane geometry. This research developed a mathematics learning tool using adevelopment model adapted from the ADDIE development model. The stages that need to bedone to obtain a valid, practical and effective multimedia learning mathematics is requirementanalysis and objective formulation, product design / development, trial, revision and finalproduct study. The experiments included expert trial / expert judgment, small group try-outand field try-out. The field try-out was done on two classes of VIII grade in SMP N 1 Sedayu.The research instrument used was validation sheet, teacher's appraisal sheet, studentassessment sheet, and Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) test. This research produces a qualifiedand viable virtual mathematics learning media. The results showed that multimedia learningmathematics which was developed is valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the problem-solving profile in Linear Equation of OneVariable (LEOV) by using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) based on the student’smathematics ability. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the studyare chosen by using purposive sampling and 7th grade junior high school students are selectedas the sample of the research. Furthermore, the data is classified into two categories, there arethe students with high and low mathematics ability categories. The data was analyzed anddescribed as the mathematics problem-solving profile based on Polya’s four steps method.The result of the study shown that the subject with high mathematics ability solved theproblem using all the Polya’s four steps method. The initial step derived by the subjects wereunderstanding the problem. Next, the subjects wrote the given information, the question, andthe missing data while they were solving the problem. In the carrying out the plan, thestudents perform any necessary actions such as formulating, modelling and computations.The problem was well-formulated by using appropriate steps and well-described in eachprocedure. The computation derived by the subject was examined after conclusion. Theappropriate computation derived by the subject attains well-outcomes. The obtained numbersare well described in each step of solving the given problem. It implies that the indicator ofproblem-solving were achieved based on the given description. However, the subjects withlow categories were lack to describe the devising strategy while solving the given problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical problem solving in solving story problems in terms of the extrovert introvert personality types of SMP N 6 Rembang students on a two-variable linear equation system. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were students of class VIIIB SMP N 6 Rembang. Selection of Respondents used a purposive sampling technique consisting of three students for each personality type. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques with data presentation steps, data reduction and conclusions. The results showed that the problem-solving ability for (1) extroverted students: were able to  understand the problem and were able to explain again in their own language, were able to draw up a problem-solving plan, were able to carry out calculations and writing very neatly, were able to check the results obtained, ( 2) introverted  students: have been able to understand the problem but have not been able to explain again with their own language, have been able to draw up a problem solving plan and are able to do calculations even though the writing is still messy, in general do not re-check the answers he has obtained.

Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the quality of emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of students in class VII-F of SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto by applying Quantum teaching to mathematics learning. After applying Quantum teaching emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of students increased. This research was conducted in three cycles. Data collection techniques through observation by observers and filling out questionnaires by students, and data analysis was done in the description with scoring techniques. Based on the results of the research that has been done it can be concluded the following matters: 1) There is an increase in students' emotional intelligence in the process of learning mathematics. This can be seen from the increase in the average observations and emotional intelligence questionnaire results of students from cycle I to cycle III. In cycle III, the average results of observation of emotional intelligence were 2.53 with the criteria of emotionally intelligent students and the average results of students' emotional intelligence questionnaire in cycle III was 2.87 with the criteria of emotionally intelligent students. 2) There is an increase in students' mathematics learning achievement in the material lines and angles. This can be seen from the increase in grade point average and mastery learning. The average value of the class before the application of Quantum teaching was 72.21 with a mastery of learning at 54.54% after the implementation of the Quantun teaching completeness of student learning rose to 74.194% with an average grade of 76.548. Thus the application of Quantum teaching in mathematics learning succeeded in increasing emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of VII-F graders of SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' critical thinking skill using IMPROVE learning model. The subject of this research were VII D grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Purwokerto in the academic year of 2016/2017, consisted of 18 male students and 18 female students. This research employed classroom action research with 3 cycles consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In order to know students' critical thinking skill, the researcher used intrument of essay test given in the end of each cycle. The results indicate that students' critical thinking skill improves in cycle I with the mean score is 53.56; then it improves in cycle II with the mean score is 67.87; and it improves in cycle II with the mean score is 77.44. It can be concluded that IMPROVE learning model can improve students' critical thinking skill at VII D grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Purwokerto

Abstract

This research aims to describe the composition of cognitive process and knowledge dimension of the item analysis of even final test on mathematic of the fourth grade of SMP cluster 1 Banyumas in academic year 2014/2015, to describe the quality of the even final test based on the theoretical and empirical analysis. Based on the analysis result, the composition of the cognitive process in the item consisted of cognitive process of understanding (35,14%) and applying (64,86%), the knowledge composition consisted of conceptual knowledge (35,14%) and procedural (64,86%). The analysis result of the content validity, multiple choice test, short answer, and essay with the accordingly percentages 96%, 90%, and 80% had fulfilled the criteria of good test. The analysis result of the contruct validity and face validity, multiple choice test, short answer, and essay with the accordingly percentages 92%, 90%, and 80% had fulfilled the criteria of good test. The empirical result analysis showed that the validity level of the item of multiple choice and short answer were dominant in fair category, the essay were dominant in high category, the coefficient reliability of multiple choice, short anwer question, and essay were accordingly 0,62; 0,50; 0,63, the distractor of multiple choice, short answer, and essays were dominant in fair category, the difficulty level of the multiple choice, short answer, and essay were dominant in fair category.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find: 1). Student's achievement in mathematics communication ability who followed the learning process using Probing Prompting strategy; 2).  Student's achievement in self-regulation who followed the learning process using Probing Prompting strategy; 3). Whether a student's achievement in mathematics communication ability who followed the learning process using Probing Prompting strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process; 4). Whether a student self-regulation who followed the learning process using Probing Prompting strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process.The population of this research is a whole of the 8thgrade students from one of the Junior High School in Purwokerto. The data-gathering process is determined by post-test and questionnaire. The result that can be inferred from the post-test are the class average which using Probing Prompting strategy for their learning process are 72,29 and the class average which using direct learning process are 65,62 and the result that can be inferred from the questionnaire are the class average which using Probing Prompting strategy for their learning process are 76,62 and the class average which using direct learning process are 67,85. The result of this research shows that that student's achievement in mathematics communication ability who followed the learning process using the Probing Prompting strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process. Student self-regulation who followed the learning process using the Probing Prompting strategy is better than a student who followed a direct learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to express spiritual values in mathematic learning of Relations. This study was a qualitative research with a case study method with a grounded theory approach. The research subjects were mathematics teachers and 2ndstudents of MTs 1 Banyumas who were selected using purposive sampling technique. Methods of data collection through in-depth interviews, observation, and document studies. Data were analysed with inductive method and discribed with narative. The results showed that the spiritual values in relation material can be extracted from the ontological concept of relations. Spiritual values in Relationships philosophically contribute to the development of the structure of human life
