Abstract

The challenge for planning in small island is to ensure efficient use of limited land resources, ensure balanced regional development and balanced use of resources, including natural resources and landscape resources. Based on carrying capacity and small island destination, spatial planning of tourism in Sapeken archipelago which contaian several small island, done by suitability analyze Sapeken archipelago for several tourism. Furthermore,carrying capacity calculated referring Yuliandaetal(2010) to assess how much tourism can commodate without causing disruption the nature. The result suggest Sapeken archipelago have suitable area for dive tourism (164.42 ha); snorkeling (361.56 ha); fishing tourism (1493.38 ha), mangrove tourism (3927.09 ha) dan beach tourism (39.77 ha). Carrying capacity for tourism activities,Sapeken archipelago can commodate 4260 person/day for dive tourism; 3590person/dayfor snorkelling; 14 900people/day for fishing tourism; 321. 000people/day formangrovetoursm;and 199 people/day for beach tourism.

Abstract

This study aimed at obtaining factual information and overview to the development of land use patterns for buildings in urban areas by interval time period, both spatially and aspatially, by utilizing high-resolution satellite photo image (high resolution spatial image) combined with field observations. This research used survey method approach. The data of this study consisted of primary and secondary data classified into spatial and aspatial data in the form of time series obtained through documents recording techniques, field observations, previous mapping sources, as well as depth interviews. The analysis technique used Image Processing Analysis through programs and software Arc View. The result of research showed that there was a quite rapid development of land use patterns for building in Palu within the last 50 years (≤ 1970 till 2010) It had building addition in 65,173 units (82.28%), from 14,032 units in ≤1970 to 79,205 units in 2010, and the addition of extensive use of land for building was 4723.52 ha (89.06%), from 516.98 ha in ≤ 1970 to 4723.52 ha in 2010. The development level of land use patterns for building was getting along with the size of distribution and population growth in Palu.

Abstract

In Indonesia, decentralization and globalization has introduced a new spirit for localism. Since decentralisation, regions have been motivated to accelerate economic development through local endowment and resources. The democratic Indonesia government has been interested to follow economy theories and case studies develop in the advance countries. Over the years, government policies have supported and strengthen technology development through industrial clusters and national and regional innovation systems. This research aims to explore current progress of Indonesia innovation system through industrial clusters. The research found the presence of industry clustering and very limited innovation system in Indonesia. The research argues that these activities has significant impact on employment growth, but does not increase the industry's value added.

Abstract

Fisherman settlements are physically different to common urban settlements, because it has a uniqueness reflect to their tradition and culture. Some periodical observation has been made in Tambakmulyo fisherman settlement-Semarang shown different phenomena, which the fisherman’s urban space has visual similarity to the common open space. The settlement image has been melting away because of some unique activities has been less dominant conducted. This research has a purpose to get more understanding about the urban space transformation in both physical and socio-spatial point of views, while deductive-rationalistic approach also have been used to support research objectives. In addition, a descriptive-qualitative method has been proposed in order to reveal the urban space transformation phenomena. The urban space transformation in the fisherman settlements has been occurred, based on the physical form analysis and socio-spatial observation. Furthermore, this study has been successfully finding the urban space transformation phenomena, from the sea oriented toward the mainland, which is the fisherman unique activities are no longer dominated their urban space.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to measure and identify the factors that can enrichment social skills, both for the government and society in rearrangement urban slum with a case study in Kelurahan Cigugur Tengah Cimahi city. Research methodology is Participatory Research Appraisal (PRA), to ensure the active involvement of the people who became the subject group. Based on the results of the study, the researchers have concluded that the success of social assistance in rearrangement urban slums depend on increasing the capacity of governments and communities governansi. Increased capacity of government governance can be done by encouraging the Regional Executive, gave a commitment to establish priority areas for quality improvement of social areas. Forming a business unit area that has the task of improving the quality of social structuring slum. Increase the capacity of communities governance be done with the commitment of citizens, actively involved in decision-making, planning, implementation, maintenance, monitoring and improving the quality of social contribution in structuring slum priority.
