Abstract

The Growing up of Informal Sector is slowly affected space use and the morphological forms Kampung Sekayu, views of the circulation or movement changes and changes in space for. The model changes of Kampung Sekayu shown in matrix form, diagrams, and mapping by using symbols was adapted from Zahnd theory (2008) which were previously done  uantitative analysis to know the category changes.Based on the theory of Lazarus (1984) about the adjustment, the results of this study shows that the activities of people in Kampung Sekayu is an adaptation because people trying to be part of the formal trade sector that grows rapidly. Each activity requires space as a container. In this case, the changes is happening in Kampung Sekayu is a form of adjustment due to some space available (such as public space) is intended to support the work done by street vendors and parking attendants.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a spatial model based on Geographic Information System (GIS) that can be used to identify landslide prone areas. The model uses map overlay and tabular weighted methods involving seven variables, i.e. slope, geological condition, rainfall, soil water, water infiltration, earthquake zone, and land cover. Output of the model are classified into three categories: very vulnerable, somewhat vulnerable and safe. To ensure that the model can work well, it is applied in Semarang City due to the consideration that it has various topographical conditions, i.e. flat on the North side and hilly on the South side. Besides, the high population density has been increasing population activities, which in turn increses environmental vulnerability. To validate the model, its output is compared with the real situation on the field using some sample points. The result has shown that the model can work well, with a validity of approximately 92.5%. The output map shows that the very prone landslide area of Semarang City is about 306.82 hectare or 1% of the city’s area. Furthermore, the model is supposed to be aplicable in other areas having the same characteristics as Semarang City.

Abstract

The construction of Nusa Dua – Ngurah Rai – Benoa Toll Road in coastal area which has vulnerability of tsunami so for measure the level of vulnerability use the Building TsunamiVulnerability (BTV) from Omira et al (2009), Tsunami Matrix from Sengaji and Nababan (2009),and Coastal Vulnerability Indeks (CVI) by Kumar et al (2010). The result of BTV is 30%, this value included in the class risk D1 which has meaning slight no structural damage. Then with the result showed the value is 4 and include in the class risk 4 which the meaning is high risk. Lastly, measuring with CVI model the result is 16,53 this included in the class risk moderate. We had different results, it is because the parameter and the coefficient value were calculated also different. Furthermore, the parameters tsunami run-up and the type of building materials are parameters which need to be most consider, these parameters are the most dominant factor. It can be concluded that the Nusa Dua - Ngurah Rai - Benoa toll road has vulnerability to Tsunami. Thus, we must preparing the mitigation or adaptation plan, such as, evacuation routes plan, if forece majeur happened.
