Abstract

To reach the regional development equity, it is necessary to spread central activities in sub-region. This is a land use planning need to gain. According to development paradigms, industry is a leading sector that will influence its hinterland. This research was aims to know the strategic location for industrial area in Purbalingga, that have consideration in phisichal, economic, social, and stakeholders’ interest. The result indicate that industry should not located in central region as we saw in existing. The best alternative location for industrial area are Bukateja, Kutasari, Rembang, Mrebet, Karangreja , and Karangmoncol.

Abstract

A common problem which occurred on a network router is bottle-neck phenomenon. This problem appear if the router is connecting high speed network (e.g. a 100 Mbps fast ethernet LAN) to low speed network (e.g. 512 kbps DSL internet line). To avoid traffic congestion, there must be a mechanism to control the link sharing. This paper discusses the use of Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) algorithm, which is embedded in Linux kernel, to share the bandwidth on a link in a controlled fashion. Hierarchical link sharing allows multiple hosts, agencies, or protocol families to share the bandwidth. By implementing the HTB algorithm, we intend to achieve a fair bandwidth sharing according to the policy

Abstract

A Groundsill is built with main purpose to control river bed. When groundsill is placed in a river there will cause water surface raises and creates backwater in upstream of the groundsill. It influences elevation of flood and inundation. The backwater will inundate riverbank or structures along backwater distance, and drainage become difficultier as well as cause dangerous spill. Different type of groundsill will give different inundation impact. Therefore it needs to analyse water surface raises caused by different type of groundsill. This study is aimed to analyse water surface profile in upstream of groundsill with two different type, i.e. broadcrested and ogee. Serang River data is used to analyse. HEC-RAS Version 4 Beta assist the calculation and analysis. The calculation result shows that at the same height of sill, Ogee type give higher backwater level than broadcrested type. Nevertheless, the backwater distance is not different significantly.

Abstract

Decomposed of tire waste is too difficult. The tire waste has good resistance against sea water and acids attack in long time and cause not significantly damages. The tire waste as fiber has moderate tensile strength, so that can used on concrete structure very well. This research is conducted to find the influence of viscocrete-10 towards slump value and compressive strength of fiber concrete. The viscocrete-10 dosage is 1 liter per cubic meter of concrete. The waste tire fiber sizes are 1 mm x 1 mm cross section and 1 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm and 75 mm length. Concentration of the waste tire fiber is 2.5% by volume. The research results show that the using of viscocrete-10 can increase workability of fresh fiber concrete, waste tire fiber can increase flexural strength of concrete except fiber 75 mm length decrease slump value amount 4 cm. Normally fiber addition cause decrease workability of fresh concrete. Meanwhile, fiber 10 mm length cause concrete compressive strength decrease 19.77% and fiber 75 mm length decrease compressive strength of concrete up to 28.88% than normal concrete.

Abstract

Lawa Cave in Purbalingga Regency is a special type of cave as it formed not at calcareous rocks like at the usual cave. It is formed by lava flow processes. So, it is made of an igneous rock and it has an andesit basaltic rock type. Lawa Cave formed due to lava flow of the volcanic eruption of the Old Slamet Volcano. The rocks composition of Lawa Cave consists of primary minerals that are plagioclase and volcanic glass and some secondary mineral like calcite and ferri oxide which is fill the previous gas pores. Generally, rock fractures in Lawa Cave is formed as primary joint when the lava flow was cooling down, tectonic joints is found very limited. Lawa Cave’s direction is controlled by the flow direction of the melting lava. It’s direction indicate the paleomorphology of the volcano.

Abstract

The main problem of domestic wastewater treatment in term of bacterial removal using conventional septictank in many developed towns is lack of land to purify domestic sewage into 10 m minimum safety distance according to WHO regulation. It is necessary to develop new treatment system to ensure bacterial will be removed 100 percent less than 10 m distance. Channel System Filter Septictank (CSF Septictank) is designed to solve the problem above. CSF Septictank is a common septictank equipped with filter tank separated by several partition walls to shape channels. CSF will consist of three parts: initial storage tank, filter tank and final storage tank. The Filter tank is fully filled with fine sand as filter medium. Wastewater will flows from the initial storage tank then pass the filter tank and entering the final storage tank as product of CSF Septictank treatment. Dimensions of the filter tank are analyzed using Huisman formula. Performance of CSF Septictank is measured by comparing water quality between water in the initial storage tank and the final storage tank. Water quality test result shows significance effect in bacterial removal. The other parameters also show increasing of water quality. By using CSF Septictank, bacterial contents could be removed 99,15%, BOD5 contents decreases 27,24%, COD contents decreases 29,01% meanwhile DO contents increases 27,78%
