Abstract

This study aimed to improve the learning outcomes on Mathematics subjects and learning motivation in class VIII-3 of SMP Negeri 1 Sei Bingai in 2020-2021 academic year through the using of Google Classroom application during the Covid-19 Pandemic for "Relations and Functions" material. The results of data analysis showed an increasing in learning outcomes and student motivation. The initial cycle stage showed the number of students who have completed the KKM (75) as 29% of students. Although they do learning from home, the learning outcomes increased in the first cycle, there were 18 students (65%) had completed the KKM (75). After the second cycle, it increased to 82% of students who had completed the KKM (75). In cycle I, as 21% of students in the "very high" category of learning motivation, as 43% in the "high" category, then as 25% of students in the "less" category and 11% of students in the "very low" category. Then in cycle II, the results of the analysis of students' learning motivation increased with details; as 32% of students in the category of "very high" learning motivation; as 50% of students in the category of "high"; as 18% of students in the category of "less" learning motivation.

Abstract

This study is a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) that aimed to increase the active participation and learning outcomes for Social Science (IPS) subjects in class VIII-6 SMP Negeri 1 Sei Bingai in 2018-2019 through the application of the Group Investigation (GI) cooperative learning model. This study used the research methods from Kemmis and Taggart. The data collection techniques used are tests, observations and documentation. The test instrument used in the form of multiple choice questions and observation sheets consist of indicators of student active participation. The result showed that in the pre-cycle, the percentage of completeness was 40.6%, increasing in the first cycle to 87.5% and reaching 93.75% in the second cycle. The active participation also experienced an increasing in each cycle where in the first cycle active participation and the second cycle in the Good category. Based on the results of the Group Investigation (GI) cooperative learning model research, the active participation and Social Science learning outcomes for class VIII-6 students of SMP Negeri 1 Sei Bingai for the 2018-2019 academic year have increased.

Abstract

Mother's motivation is one of the supporting factors and indispensable in monitoring the growth of infants and toddlers. The purpose of this study is to describe the factors that motivate a mother why she needs to visit the Posyandu or not. This study used a phenomenological qualitative method. Data were collected using semi-structured interview technique. The results showed that there were three categories of responses, namely (1) two families did not use Posyandu as health facilities and infrastructure due to the habitual orientation of the previous generation; (2) two families did not go to Posyandu because they felt that their family was healthy; (3) one family worried that immunizing their child will get then into fever and illness. For the health of mothers and children, some informants simply breastfeeding and eat a complete meal and carry out the inherited habits from their parents. Meanwhile, the families who visited the Posyandu were because the four families who became informants said that the Posyandu was very useful for children's growth and development and one family visited the Posyandu because there were souvenirs such as sugar, green beans, as well as for children's health.

Abstract

Target-oriented learning in mastery of the material proved successful in 'short-term remembering' competitions, but failed to equip children to solve problems in long-term life. The aims of this study are: (a) to determine the increasing in Social Science learning achievement after the application of the directed teaching model active learning method, (b) to determine the effect of Social science learning motivation after the active learning directed teaching model was applied. This research used three rounds of action research. From the results of the analysis, it was found that student achievement increased from Pre-Cycle to Cycle-II, namely, Pre-Cycle (62.5%), Cycle I (75%), Cycle II (93.75%). The conclusion of this study is the active learning method with a directed teaching model can have a positive effect on the learning motivation of SMP Negeri 11 Binjai students, and this learning model can be used as an alternative for social studies learning.

Abstract

The aims of this study are: (a) To improve the science learning outcomes (b) to increase the activeness of students in learning Science (c) to increase students' interest in learning Science? The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) that consists of 2 cycles. The subjects of Class V students as 26 students. Data analysis used comparative descriptive analysis techniques by comparing the initial conditions with the results achieved in each cycle, and qualitative descriptive analysis of observations by comparing the results of observations and reflections in cycle I and cycle II. The results showed a very significant increase in student achievement. In the initial test, it was obtained that 60% increased to 91.43% in the final test of the second cycle of action. It was concluded that through the demonstration method, it was possible to improve the learning outcomes of students in Class V Semester I of the science subject "The Using of Energy" in SD Negeri 4 Muara Dua in 2018/2019 and could have a positive effect on students' learning motivation, and this learning model can be used as a an alternative science learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted in SD Negeri 4 Muara Dua, Class VI semester I with a total of 27 students. Data collection techniques used are observation, and tests. The results of initial observations in SD Negeri 4 Muara Dua, in learning mathematics in Class VI Materials for Right-angled Angles obtained data that students still have not mastered the material. This is evidenced by the value of student learning outcomes at the end of the lesson that has not reached the KKM. To overcome these problems, a learning improvement is needed, by applying the PAKEM approach as an approach to influencing student interaction patterns and aiming to improve academic mastery. The results showed that applying the PAKEM approach could improve the process and student learning outcomes in the Mathematics subject for right angles. This can be seen in student learning completeness in the first cycle, which is 77.78% and increases to 88.89% in the second cycle. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the PAKEM approach can improve student learning outcomes in Right-angled Materials. Thus, teachers can apply the PAKEM approach so that mathematics learning can increase student activity in learning.
