Abstract

AbstractLocal press problems in facing the contestation of the election of Regional Heads in West Sumatra Province can be grouped into two broad lines: first, the local press is dragged into a conflict of interest in the election of the Regional Head including 1) The Press supports one candidate pair, 2). Incitement of the success team, 3). The interests of media owners and stakeholders in media companies. Second, the intervention of the Regional Head towards local media includes 1). Change the Regional Head changes journalists, 2). Contract termination threats and 3). Media blockade. As for the solution to the problem, an alternative solution can be proposed that: 1). Re-guided Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning Press. 2). Balancing the press as a business industry with the press as a professional institution (social control). 3). The media owner should not use and manipulate his press company into the realm of practical politics. 5). In establishing cooperation with local governments, strive to stick to the principles and ethics of the journalistic profession. 6). Journalists must increase the capacity and quality of journalistic products, adhere to journalists code of ethics, and not bring the profession into the realm of practical politics. 7). Report regional heads or parties who attempt to intimidate the media and journalists in carrying out their profession, to the Public Information Commission (KIP), police and Ombudsman at certain levels of government.Keywords: Local Press, Problems, Pemilukada Contestation. AbstrakProblematika pers lokal dalam menghadapi kontestasi pemilihan Kepala Daerah di Provinsi Sumatera Barat dapat dikelompokkan pada dua garis besar: yaitu pertama, pers lokal terseret dalam konflik kepentingan pemilihan Kepala Daerah meliputi 1) Pers mendukung salah satu pasangan calon, 2). hasutan tim sukses, 3). kepentingan pemilik media dan pemangku kewenangan pada perusahaan media. Kedua, intervensi Kepala daerah terhadap media lokal meliputi 1). berganti Kepala Daerah berganti wartawan, 2). ancaman putus kontrak dan 3). blokade media. Adapun solusi untuk permasalahan tersebut, dapat diajukan alternative penyelesaiannya bahwa: 1). Mempedomani kembali Undang-Undang Nomor 40 tahun 1999 tentang Pers. 2). Menyeimbangkan antara pers sebagai industry bisnis dengan pers sebagai lembaga professional (control social). 3). Pemilik media jangan memanfaatkan dan memperalat perusahaan pers miliknya ke ranah politik praktis. 5). Dalam menjalin kerja sama dengan pemerintah daerah, upayakan tetap berpegang pada prinsip dan etika profesi jurnalistik. 6). Wartawan mesti meningkatkan kapasitas dan kualitas produk jurnalistiknya, menaati kode etik wartawan, dan tidak membawa profesi ke ranah politik praktis. 7). Melaporkan kepala daerah atau pihak-pihak yang berupaya mengintimidasi media dan wartawan dalam menjalankan profesinya, ke Komisi Informasi Publik (KIP), polisi dan ombusman pada level pemerintahan tertentu.Kata Kunci: Pers Lokal, Problematika, Kontestasi Pemilukada.

Abstract

Perubahan media lama ke media baru diikuti dengan budaya baru masyarakat informasi. Mereka menyerbu internet dengan berbagai kompleksitasnya. Hal ini telah menguatkan budaya jurnalisme warga yang telah muncul beberapa tahun sebelumnya. Era kini bisa disebut sebagai era netizen journalism, yang harapannya dapat memberikan manfaat besar bagi masyarakat. Namun, saat ini tidak bisa dielakkan, dampak negatif internet begitu nyata, terbukti dengan banyaknya pelanggaran dan penyalahgunaannya. Ketidakpahaman atau keterbatasan pengetahuan netizen mengenai etika dan prinsip yang harus digunakan dalam bermedia sosial, maka dampak buruk terhadap penggunanya tidak bisa dihindari. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan literasi media yang menyeluruh dan kontestual untuk menjelajah seluruh netizen agar memahami netiket di media baru. Kini netizen telah Social media bahkan harus dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana dakwah. Para ulama perilaku mencari format strategi yang jitu untuk berdakwah di media sosial.

Abstract

Religion based charity organizations, including those inspired by the Islamic teachings regarding caring for others, are prevalent around the world. They play significant role both in supporting the state to deliver social welfare services to the poor and the less fortunate and sidestepping or competing with the state in such provision. This paper, thus, aims at exploring the dynamic interplay between Islamic teachings regarding charitable practices and social welfare services provided by the state. Discussion on this paper suggests that Islamic charitable practices such as Zakat, shadakah, and others, can be observed through different lenses; as a charity of the rich and as rights of the poor. In Indonesia and other Muslim countries, such giving practices are widely accepted as charity of the rich partly because the idea of providing social welfare to the poor is perceived as the duty of the state. Hence, the rights of the poor lies on the obligation of the state, not the rich.

Abstract

Digital media creates a gap in the definition of the communication context created by West & Turner (2010). Situational boundaries are increasingly unclear when in the whole process the number of participants, distance, space, feedback, media functions, and variety of channels are integrated. This study aims to analyze the implications of digital media functions in elaborating interpersonal communication to successfully mobilize groups. The study was conducted by reviewing the literature on new digital media theories. As a result, connectedness occurs as a character of interpersonal communication in digital new media. When these context is elaborated by digital media so that integrating more participants, interaction is not just merely connection anymore, but focuses on shared meaning. Abstract

The study of the challenges of dawah in the Sumber Makmur Palembang rubber and oil palm plantation area has not been done much by the researchers. The focus of the problem to be explored is the response and the pioneering paradigm of the pioneers of the Sumber Makmur religion towards cultural and religious diversity, as well as how the dawah strategies they developed in maintaining inter-faith harmony. Data from the research shows that the views and attitudes of the pioneers of religion in Sumber Makmur towards cultural diversity and religion, generally refer to the paradigm of respect and respect for each other. To find an effective dawah strategy and solve socio-religious problems of the transmigration community in Sumber Makmur village. In order to realize an effective Islamic dawah strategy so that it can change the condition of the community, it must be encapsulated in the components of dai, such as daI, dawah material, methods of dawah, media and the presentation of dawah in accordance with the conditions of the transmigration community. Therefore the strategy of Islamic dawah in transmigration areas must not be carried out by one institution, but must involve various parties. Obviously the government, dawah bodies, Islamic organizations, rich people and the daI themselves, should cooperate and work together in smoothing out the activities of dawah. Dawah in Sumber Makmur village focuses on improving the economy, education, health, transportation facilities, and other facilities.

Abstract

Abstract               Headscarves are something that is familiar to Muslim women who function as someones Muslim identity. The change in the standard veil mode to the shariah that occurs in Madrasah Aliyah students is a new thing out of the ordinary in the Madrasah. The change in the veil style is feared to trigger a negative response from the public who often perceive as a dangerous Islamic group. This study discusses the process of change using the hijab syari on students, the motive behind it and the changing attributes after using the hijab syari. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection is done through interview and observation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the process of change towards the headscarf is done slowly by learning the source of books and the internet without studying the scholars who understand the problem of syara about hijab. Furthermore, there are two motives behind the students decision to switch to the hijab syarI, which is first: the motive for (motive because) in the form of: religious motives, psychological motives and defense motives. Second, the goal motive (in-order-to-motive) is: the motive for receiving charity and the motive for improving worship. While aspects that change after students wear the hijab syarI, namely: first, changes in physical attributes, changes in aspects of psychology and changes in idealism in worship.

Abstract

The growth of islamic literature keeps a problem. For some critics, many works of fiction labeled "islamic literature" are problematic in terms of writing techniques and the value of aesthetic. Amidst the stream of criticism that highlighted the weaknesses of islamic literary products, emerged several literary works, which although not specifically labeled "islamic literature", contained symbols and islamic moral teachings that won prestigious literary awards. One of them is the novel Kambing dan Hujan by Mahfud Ikhwan. Using Robert Stantons structural analysis approach, this article intends to describe how the values of dawah and aesthetic values are combined in the novel Kambing and Hujan. Based on the analysis, two conclusions were drawn. First, the novel Kambing dan Hujan has structural density. Every intrinsic element is interrelated in harmony. Second, the novel Kambing and Hujan succeeded in combining aesthetic values (marked by structural density and harmony between elements) with the value of dawah (which was marked by the existence of the content of Islamic teachings in it).

Abstract

Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan literasi media yang menyeluruh dan kontestual untuk menjelajah seluruh netizen agar memahami netiket di media baru. Kini netizen telah Social media bahkan harus dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana dakwah. Para ulama perilaku mencari format strategi yang jitu untuk berdakwah di media sosial.
