Abstract

Globalization that occurs today does not necessarily make da'wah in Indonesia can be felt evenly by the community. One of the factors that cause some people to get da'wah opportunity is poverty. In additions there are also other problems such as low audience spirit and quality of d’ii, facilities and infrastructure are not adequate, and the low relevance of da'wah with needs. With the development of technology, ideally da’wah in Indonesia is efficient, effective, has a clear standardization and produce quality output as needed. Da'wah by using technology is something that can not be denied. Theoretically, McLuhan (1964) states that we have a symbiotic relationship with technology that uses media. Man creates technology, and instead technology makes man. The theory of media ecology has the assumption that: 1). Media encompasses every action in society, 2). Media improves our perceptions and organizes experiences, 3). The media brings the whole world together. Communication technology has a great effect on people's lives (especially da'wah). Almost all human activities and actions can not be separated from the influence of technology. Then it should be used wisely by the Muslim community. With quality education is expected to prepare people to face this global era.

Abstract

The initial process of communication that often occurs in inter-cultural communication, as is done by foreign students in Ma'had Al-Jami'ah is the process of assimilation, namely the acceptance of another culture in a new environment in the form of a system, customs, habits, lifestyle and even language. This is reinforced by the involvement of foreign students in the habits of Indonesian students at Ma’had Al Jami'ah. communication that is often carried out by santri is transactional communication, where interactive communication also occurs but more to the ongoing communication in a relatively long period of time. in the process of intercultural communication that has a different cultural background. For santri immigrants, this is the first step so that the process of intercultural communication runs effectively. And this attitude also aims to assist the adaptation process in an effort to blend in with Indonesian students at Ma’had Al-Jami'ah which will impact on good acceptance by Indonesian students because communication is going well. The use of language in the process of intercultural communication is fundamental, as is the case with the daily activities of foreign students at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah who use Indonesian. Migrants who only understand their local language (their country) when they are in a new environment that has a different language, will not be able to understand the meaning of the message sent by other people in different languages such as Indonesian. By referring to the ethnographic approach of interaction that occurs in communicative activities (Communicative Practices) which consists of communi- cative situations (communicative situations), communicative events (communicative events) and communicative actions the reality of communicative activities found in different cultural students. This can be seen from the pesantren communication which includes Construction and Application of Identity Through Communication Activities, Construction and Implementation of Islamic Boarding Schools Through Communication Situations, Events of Communi-cation and Action Communication, Communication Activities Through Socialization in Pesantren Environment, Communication Activities in Pesantren Education Process.

The history of Islamic dynamics in Indonesia has been widely seen through educational instruments, trade routes, and networks of tarekat scholars. Still few see the mass media as a motion instrument. In fact, growing Islamic thoughts and movements in a place, also possible occurred on the insiprasi elsewhere through the mass media. The character of mass media capable of arousing the public subconscious has been used by Muslim scholars to jointly build a line against colonialism and liberate the nation. Abstract

Development strategies using top-down approaches have an impact on: First, the loss of public confidence in the government. Second, it does not provide opportunities and opportunities for the community to participate in development programs. Third, low public participation in maintaining the results of development.  To that end, the development approach that is offered is a buttam up approach, that is development by utilizing the resources and local wisdom or known as community empowerment. Parties who have competence in building awareness of their potential, motivate, and guide the community in developing the existing potential is the Facilitator or Village Assistant. The problem is that the Facilitator or Village Assistant has been appointed by the government, but the level of community participation in development is relatively low. Therefore, it should be questioned about the role of village facilitators or facilitators in community empowerment, and on the competencies of village facilitators or facilitators. To answer the research questions the researchers determined a sample of 374 pupulations with snow ball sampling technique using interview method, observation, and documentation in data collection. The data that have been collected will be analyzed by analytical content method then using inductive and deductive thinking method in taking conclusion. The results show that Mulang Maya Village Assistant only performs mentoring role and technical facilitation role which is administrative characteristic, such as facilitation and facilitation in arrangement of work program, preparation of financial accountability report, and supervision of physical construction implementation (inprastruktrur). Efforts to melt away with the community, provide motivation, and utilization of human resources in addition to village government apparatus, the use of natural resources, and social resources has not been done. Meanwhile, the competence of facilitators or village facilitators, such as general competence, core competencies, and core competencies supported by academic and social capacities are not sufficient. The Facilitator or Assistant of Mulang Maya Village has a high school academic capacity and technical administration experience

Abstract

In the perspective of social change based on the empowerment paradigm, development communication activities as a process of change are also carried out in a participatory manner. The process of participation and empowerment can be studied through awareness theory. a process of awareness to them about the circumstances of the environment, needs, desires, and abilities. The awareness process must be done through a dialogue process. While the process of dialogue is a continuous two-way communication process so as to find an understanding and understanding that form an awareness.  This awareness will happen to the dialogue parties. Such parties can be individuals in the community as well as individuals in government institutions. Communication process is often referred to as a model of convergence communication. Implementation of participatory extension approach is the most appropriate approach to be used in the process of community empowerment, because besides it will naturally give rise to a collective awareness of the problem and its potential, it will also place the community as subject and responsible actors of change.

Abstract

Social media can be a propaganda tool for misleading disseminators such as terrorism. Otherwise, it can also be a positive propaganda tool to counter negative efforts and actions. At the beginning of its emergence, ISIS, the world's terrorist organization today announced its founding through social media twitter. ISIS also continues to propagandise and spread threats to a number of countries through videos uploaded to YouTube and other social media. What is worrisome is that terrorist movements and networks have entered the world of education and among young people whose understanding and networking is also gained through the internet, such as blogs, websites and social media. Propaganda and counter-terrorist campaigns can also be done in social media. The use of tags (#) especially on twitter can build hot topics (trending topics). A topic can be a trend because of the integrated effort of the Internet citizen or because of an event that encourages people to talk about a particular topic like #Kami Tidak Takut (we are not afraid). Good and positive ideas through the use of tags can continue to be echoed to open discourses and discourses in society.
