Abstract

The Predation behaviour and biology of predator Sycanus aurantiacus (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) on the different larvae of Tenebrio molitor L. and Crocidolomia Pavonana FAB Sycanus sp. belongs to the family Reduviidae which is a fairly large family and it’s known to be a predator of a killer or blood-sucking ladybug. The research to determine aspects of biology predators Sycanus sp. in the key pests of cabbage plants and larvae Tenebrio molitor, as well as know the rate of predation imago Sycanus sp. The research was conducted in Laboratory Integrated Pests and Disease Control of Agroecotechnology Program Study Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University Bali. Predator Sycanus sp. obtained from the land planting cabbage at Pancasari Village, Buleleng. The prey species used are C. pavonana larvae and T. molitor. Larvae C. pavonana obtained from lands cabbage planting in vegetable center and larvae T. molitor obtained from local market around Tabanan regency. The results showed that the life cycle of Sycanus sp. in prey C. pavonana is longer that is 104 – 113 days compared with prey T. molitor is 88 – 99 days. Longevity of imago female 70,4 ± 7,88 day and imago male 94,9 ± 5,04 day in prey C. pavonana, whereas longevity of imago female in prey T. molitor 83,1 ± 5,00 day and imago male 106,9 ± 10,46 day.

Abstract

Abstract

The utilization of Bacillus thuringiensis and Compost Plus Trichoderma sp to Control the Key Pests and Diseases of Cabbage (Brassica oleraceae) in Bangli Village Baturiti District, Tabanan Regency. The experimental design was used Factorial Randomize Complete Blok Design, with two factors: Factor I : (A) Seedling of Trichoderma sp., Soil containing compost and Trichoderma sp., (B) Seedling of Trichoderma sp., Soil containing compost but without Trichoderma sp., (C) Cow manure and spice extracts bali. Factor II : (a) B. thuringiensis and (b) Without B. thuringiensis. The results treatment of seedling with Trichoderma sp., Soil containing compost and Trichoderma sp. showed the lowest percentage of the disease (32.5%), and disease severity (19.37%) if compare with other treatments. On the order hand B. thuringiensis was effect to the population of C. binotalis and total of cabbage production. The population of C. binotalis was lower on cabbage with BT treatment (2,33) if compare without BT treatment (9,65 ). Treatment of seedling with Trichoderma sp., Soil containing compost and Trichoderma sp. showed the highest total yield (16 kg/plot), as well as the treatment of B. thuringiensis was highest total of yield (16.20 kg/plot).

Abstract

Effect of the Attack of Rice Steam Borer to Rice Yields (Oryza sativa L.) in Subak Cemagi Let, Cemagi Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency. Rice stem borer is one of the pests that can cause a decrease in rice yield. In Indonesia there are four types of rice stem borer namely S. incertulas, S. innotata, C. suppressalis and S. inferens. This study aims to determine the effect of rice stem borer attack on rice crop yields. The study was conducted for three months in February to April 2019 located in Subak Cemagi Let, Cemagi Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, using a diagonal sampling method, the effect of rice stem borer attack on yield reduction. Observations were made on the percentage of rice stem borer infestation, rice stem borer type, wet weight of rice plants. Observation test shows that rice stem borer attack changes every week and affects the rice crop yields.

Abstract

The Effect of Giving Various Kinds of Fertilizer on Growth and Yield of Gumitir Plants (Tagetes Erecta L.) Gumitir flower is one of the flowers used for ritual facilities by Balinese Hindus, besides it is used for tourism purposes. One of the efforts to increase growth and development as well as the quality of gumitir products is to provide adequate and balanced nutrient supply through fertilization. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of giving various kinds of fertilizer on growth and yield of gumitir plants (Tagetes erecta L.). This study used a Randomized Block Design with four replications and six treatments namely TP (without fertilizer), PG (Gandasil B fertilizer), PN (NPK Mutiara fertilizer), PU (Urea fertilizer), PB (Bio Urine fertilizer), and PS (fertilizer SP-36). The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of branches per plant (fruit), time of flower buds appearing (days), fresh flower weight (g), diameter per flower (cm), number of fresh flowers per plant (grains), total weight of fresh flowers per plant (kg), fresh crop weight per plant (g), and oven dry perchart weight per plant (g). The results showed the type of fertilizer treatment gave a real effect on all observed variables. The NPK pearl fertilizer treatment yielded the highest total fresh flower weight per plant which was 2.15 kg, a markedly higher increase of 65.11% compared to the treatment without fertilizer and 53.48% compared with Bio Urine but not significantly different from the treatment of SP-36 fertilizer, Gandasil B fertilizer and Urea fertilizer.
