Abstract

Settlement and fire constitute complex problems facing large urban cities such as Semarang. The article attempts to examine how and to what extent the utilization of remote sensing techniques for mapping the vulnerability of fire in the city of Semarang. Where are the areas in Semarang who have a high vulnerability? Based on this research, it can be concluded among other things, (1) Quickbird satellite image year 2006 can be used to extract physical parameters fire vulnerability with an average accuracy of 85.8% (2) the level of vulnerability to fires in the study area was divided into 3 classes the details: the potential of low fire Southern District of Semarang 17.327 ha (1.02%), Middle District of Semarang 18.768 ha (1.11%), and the Eastern District of Semarang 9.712 Ha (0.57%). Are potential fire, District of South Semarang 207.946 ha (12.27%), Middle District of Semarang 217.855 ha (12.85%) and the Eastern District of Semarang 186.625 ha (11.10%). High fire potential Southern District of Semarang 109.66 Ha (6.47%), Middle District of Semarang 98.68 Ha (5.82%) and the Eastern District of Semarang 117.591 ha (6.94%). Residential area that is prone to fire hazard is characterized by a solid physical condition of buildings, the layout is irregular, and low quality of construction, coupled with the lack of fire fighting facilities

Abstract

Peanut industry is an important sector in the field of processing industry enterprises in Pati regency. This study uses a stratified proportional random sampling technique. Samples taken from four groups in peanut industry are 116 people. The results showed the fluctuation rate of labor absorption peanut industry between 2006 and 2010. Based on the demographic characteristics, the average workers female age 35 years and comes from the District of Pati. Based on the social characteristics, the education beckground of the are primary education. Based on the economic characteristics , the workers household has income per month Rp.1.890.000, 00 Rp.1.280.000 with family expenses, 00. Peanut industry locations in 18 villages of 7 districts. The raw material for the domestic industry comes from the district, from inter-district for small industries, and from other provinces and countries for big industry. The marketing of the product of household and small industry only reach the district, while the big industry is able to export to other countries.

Abstract

The improvement of road network using tools of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can play a role in regional development, especially on the tourism potential. This study aims to examine how the hierarchy of road classification system based on GIS-based functions and how it influences the level of service roads to the development potential of tourism in the district of Apex. Study sites are located in the District of Apex with the object of research in the segment - which includes roads primary roads, secondary roads and local streets and sights. The results showed that the hierarchical classification of roads in the district of Apex function is divided into three sections: the main highway / arterial primary, secondary road / primary collector, local road or street between the environments. The low value of the LOS path the higher the level of service, which means the higher the development of its tourism potential to be developed as shown in the tourist district Lodan Embung nest with a value of 0.12 LOS belonging to the characteristic level of service A

Abstract

Changes in ecosystems with cultivation in Sub DAS Garang Hulu led to problems of erosion in the uplands and sedimentation in downstream areas, so it needs to be done through the calculation of the prediction results of the sediment. The purpose of this study is to calculate the sediment in Garang Hulu using MUSLE (Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation). The results showed the results of sediment (sediment yield) is out of Garang Hulu varies. The largest sediment occurred on February 6, 2010 at 23.1313 tons / events and the smallest occurred on February 15, 2010 amounted to 1.4025 tons / occurrence of rain events on 19 January to 4 March 2010. Prediction the result of analysis using the method MUSLE with constanta a = 11.6 and b = 0.56 shows that results are significantly different from an analysis using field measurements. Having made application for a method with constants a = 309.350 b = 0.332 and the results obtained sediment was not significantly different from field measurements at 95% significance level. While the application of the method remains significantly different from the results of field measurements of sediment due to the high surface flow

Abstract

Carelessness in determining the location of ponds and pond management is not only a huge waste but also affect the fish production. This research is aimed at assessing the characteristics of coastal land in Kendal with the application of geographic information systems technology (GIS) and analyzing land suitability classes aquaculture in the coastal region of Kendal. Study sites are located in the coastal region of Kendal district that includes seven sub-districts namely Kaliwungu, Brangsong, Kendal Town, Patebon, Cepiring, Watercress, and Rowosari. Analysis of the data used is the method of scoring. The variables in this study were: (1) land slope, (2) soil texture, (3) soil pH, (4) land use, (5) precipitation, (6) accessibilities, (7) the distance from the river, (8) the distance from the sea. The results showed that in the coastal region of Kendal, there are 3 variations of land suitability classes for the pond that is highly suitable class (S1) area of 2076.2 ha, according to the class (S2) 19,606,3 ha and the area is quite appropriate class (S3) there is an area of 2817, 1 ha. Dominant factor affecting the growth of the pond is that it contains high salts
