Abstract

Implementation of character education in elementary school level of its effectiveness is strongly supported by the design of learning environment and classroom with characteristic character. Initial phenomena indicate that many classrooms in elementary schools are not supported by the design of the nuanced space character education, so the implementation of character education is less effective. This study aims to determine the model of nuanced classroom character education in primary schools. The method of research is development research using the procedural development model of Borg and Gall. The trial was conducted at the target school, SD 08 Nanggalo Padang which is a pilot project for the implementation of character education in elementary school. The results showed that the design of learning environment of character education consists of group position, classroom equipped with wet and dry garbage bin, findings of lost items, suggestion box, list of lessons and picket list.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the ability of PJOK teachers in writing scientific papers and following technological developments, especially at the elementary school level. Classroom action research is a form of scientific work that aims to solve problems that exist in the learning process. The method used in this activity is participatory learning and action (PLA), including: 1) coordination with partners in the process of preparing program implementation and contacting a team of experts who will later provide training, 2) preparation of activity guides to be carried out, 3) training on making scientific papers and training on the use of information and communication technology, 4) program assistance and evaluation. The result of this activity is that partners have the insight and ability to utilize information and communication technology to produce scientific papers. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru PJOK dalam menulis karya ilmiah dan mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, khususnya pada tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian tindakan kelas merupakan bentuk karya ilmiah yang bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang ada dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah participatory learning and action (PLA), meliputi: 1) koordinasi dengan mitra dalam proses persiapan pelaksanaan program dan menghubungi tim ahli yang nantinya akan memberikan pelatihan, 2) penyusunan panduan kegiatan yang akan dilaksanakan, 3) pelatihan pembuatan karya tulis ilmiah dan pelatihan penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, 4) pendampingan program dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah mitra memiliki wawasan dan kemampuan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi untuk menghasilkan karya tulis ilmiah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic is a worldwide health problem at this time, including Indonesia, with a massive spread. Various issues arise due to the COVID-19 pandemic in economic, social, cultural, educational, and social welfare. This research was conducted on the people who lived in the COVID-19 red zone at Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) area, with a total sample of 311 people. This study's data are political data collected using the Family Resilience instrument distributed using the Google Form application and data analysis using the Rasch Model and SPSS. Based on the research, it was found that the level of family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic was in a suitable category. Therefore, it is necessary to increase parents' understanding in maintaining harmony and stability in the family conditions.

Abstract

Effective schools are schools that demonstrate high standards on academic and non-academic achievement and have a culture that is oriented towards the goals to be achieved and this is marked by the formulation of a vision that is established and promoted jointly between school residents consisting of principals, teachers, staff, other employees, school committees, students, and other stakeholders. The quality of school leaders is one of the basic factors that influence the quality of the teaching and learning process significantly at every level of the education system. Competencies that must be possessed by effective principals are 1) interpersonal and communication skills, 2) It is important that principals master the transformation of technology-based education; 3) Competency in the field of management manages the development of schools as an institution that manages human resources.Keyword: Principal, Effective Schools

Abstract

Technology mastery is one of the most important competencies for teachers. In Permendiknas No. 16/2007 concerning Academic Qualification Standards and Teacher Competencies, there are four competencies that must be mastered by teachers, two of which are pedagogical and professional competencies. Both of these competencies are very closely related to the use of technology in learning. In curriculum 2013, every teacher is required to utilize technology in the learning process. This study aims to see the extent of the use of technology by teachers in the learning process in schools in Padang. This research is a field survey research. The subjects of this study were 60 public junior high school teachers in Padang. The research method used is quantitative descriptive percentage with data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale of 5. The results obtained from this study are: (a) the use of information and communication technology by teachers in planning to get 70.1% results including the high category, (b) the use of information and communication technology by teachers in the learning process to obtain 69.1% results including high category, and (c) the use of information and communication technology in learning evaluation obtained 68.9% results included in the high category.Keyword: information and communication technology, curriculum 2013

Abstract

The study aims to determine whether Budaya Alam Minangkabau subject is able to shape the character of students in accordance with Minangkabau cultural values. The selection of learning strategies, the availability of teaching materials, and learning media determines the success of students' character planting. A Mixed Method was carried out where the population of this study was elementary school teachers in Padang. Budaya Alam Minangkabau is taught in grades 4, 5, and 6. The numbers of elementary school teachers are 939. For quantitative data, a sample of 100 teachers was determined, while for qualitative data the headmaster and school supervisor were assigned. Based on the results of research that has been done, the subjects of the Budaya Alam Minangkabau play a role in the formation of character, namely the planting of cultural values, ethics, morals and local wisdom. Thus, students have a high sensitivity to the cultural values of the region in order to remain sustainable and not uprooted from its own cultural roots. The formation of character in students is a value education, character education, and formal education, character education that aims to develop the ability of all school members to provide good and bad decisions, exemplary, maintain what is good and realize goodness in everyday life to the fullest heart. Through Budaya Alam Minangkabau subjects, students are expected to be able to recognize and become familiar with their own natural, social and cultural environment. Students have the stock, abilities and skills as well as knowledge about the area that is useful for themselves and the community in general, and develop noble values of local culture in order to support national development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of student understanding of the personality and social competence of teachers. Personality competence is part of teacher competence that must be known by prospective teacher students. This study uses quantitative research methods with a sample of 173 PGSD students in the fourth semester. Based on the results of the study, it was found that 20% of the students did not understand the competence of teachers, especially the personality competencies that prospective teachers must possess to become teachers in the future. Personal competence is a competency that must be possessed by every teacher. Personality competencies do not just appear, but must be instilled since the teacher is still a teacher candidate at a teacher training college.
