Abstract

Nowadays, infertile incidences in young married couple are increasing and the women got unreguler menstruation cycles that pretend a Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) predisposition. Accretion of PCOS incidences coincide with accretion of junk food (JF) consumption life style in women. This study is description from some literatures of predisposition of JF consumption life style towards PCOS incidence accretion. JF is being PCOS predisposition because its refined carbohydrate increasing insulin resistance risk; high glucose-salts-fats ingredients disturbing hormones balance; JF is processed using partial hydrogenated oil; frying of JF using oxidized oil that producing radical damage of the cell; JF is fried using high temperature over 100° celcius that inducing aldehid and keton formation; JF is fried using over 4 times heating. Thus, importance of education about JF consumption and healthy foods in family must be done since the child has born; socialization of JF hazard in the household scale; education of JF consumption and healthy foods in the school; restriction of business permit in JF; restriction and regulation of business advertisement in JF; accretion of business tax in JF; tightening of public regulation about healthy life style.Nowadays, infertile incidences in young married couple are increasing and the women got unreguler menstruation cycles that pretend a Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) predisposition. Abstract

Diabetes is a disease characterized by increasing blood sugar. People with diabetes continue to increasing number each year, so it needs better prevention of diabetes. Chromium is a cofactor in improving insulin action in the transfer of glucose into cells. In addition to chromium, vitamin C and vitamin E also plays a role in the prevention of diabetes, which is an antioxidant that can capture free radicals and prevent a chain reaction result in no cell damage. The aim o thi study was to analyzed the effect of chromium, vitamin C, and vitamin E on blood sugar rats that induced by alloxan. This research is an experimental laboratory. Sample were 20 male Wistar rats during 6 weeks. The independent variables consist of 5 treatment groups namely normal diet; normal diet + 1 g / day chromium; normal diet + 2 mg / day of vitamin C; the normal diet + 0.5 mg / day of vitamin ; a normal diet + 1 g / day chromium + 2 mg / day of vitamin C + 0.5 mg / day of vitamin E. The dependent variable is blood sugar levels. To know the differences of each treatment used statistical tests One Way ANOVA, followed by Tukey HSD Post Hoc test with p <0.05. There were significant differences in blood glucose (p = 0.000) between the control group and group 1, 2, 4, but between control group and  groups 3 showed no significant difference in blood glucose (p = 0.718). Chromium, vitamin C, and a mixture of chromium, vitamin C, vitamin E showed an effect on blood sugar, while vitamin E alone had no effect on blood sugar.

Abstract

Sport achievement basically depends on four main factor readiness, that are physical, technical, tactical and mental readiness (Bompa, 1990). Physical readiness is a base or foundation for sport achievement, because superfine physical ability will also provide fine technical, tactical and mental ability. Athletes physical ability determined by one of the main body fit parameters, that is VO2 max. This study wants to measure the difference between influences of endurance exercise with carnitine supplement administration and endurance exercise without carnitine supplement administration toward the increased free fatty acid and VO2 max. This is a kind of experimental study and, according to the place, is a field experiment with Randomized Pretest – Posttest Control Group Design. Treatment at group 1 was provided continual endurance exercise with low intensity three times a week for two months supplemented with carnitine administration of 1.6 g carnitine/exercise. Group 2 was provide endurance exercise treatment continually with low intensity 3 times a week for two months supplemented with carnitine administration of 0.8 g carnitine/exercise and group 3 was provided with continual endurance exercise with low intensity 3 times a week for two months. After the treatment completed for two months, each tested person from group 1 through group 3 was given a posttest by their blood sample withdrawal to measure Free Fatty Acid using Calorimetric method and VO2 max measurement using Treatmill. With anova statistic it was obtained F = 11.924 and p = 0.000. Because p < 0.05, then, there was a significant difference of Free Fatty Acid for the three study groups. Group 1 increment (1.6 g of carnitine supplement each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) was higher than group 2 (0.8 g of carnitine supplement for each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) and group 2 increment (administration of 0.8 g carnitine supplement each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) was higher than group 3 (continual endurance exercise with low intensity without carnitine supplement administration). With anova statistic test it was obtained F = 23.756 and p = 0.000. Because p < 0.05, then, there was difference meaning of VO2 max for the three study groups. Group 1 increment (1.6 g carnitine supplement administration each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) was higher than group 2 (0.8 g carnitine supplement administration for each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) and group 2 (0.8 carnitine supplement administration for each continual endurance exercise with low intensity) was higher than group 3 (continual endurance exercise with low intensity without carnitine supplement)

Abstract

Moringa Oleifera is a plant that contains chemical compounds that are useful, such as flavonoids. The ability of this flavonoid compound that can capture free radicals cause damage and hepatoprotektan hepar. Purpose of study was to determined levels of Moringa leaf extract which can overcome the effects of liver damage caused by toxic doses of paracetamol through MDA, SGOT and SGPT Method used in this laboratory experimental study is a Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design with the following stages: 1. Moringa Leaf Extraction with Ethanol 96%; Try 2.Preparasi animals, 3. Treatment of Animals Try the extract of leaves of Moringa 3 dose is: 250mg / 200BB rat (dose of A), 500mg / 200BB mice (dose B), 1000mg / 200BB mice (dose C) for 14 days in combination with paracetamol 2 g / 200BB mice, compared to the negative control group (group given just paracetamol 2 g / 200BB rat) and the positive control group (the group who were given regular feed) for 14 days. Results : turned out to be no difference in the reduction in SGOT levels are statistically significant between the negative control group with high-dose treatment group ie the dose C with =0,016 smaller than 0.05, whereas a decrease in ALT levels were significantly decreased in the treatment group high dose is the dose C with =0,009 smaller than 0.05. While MDA group treated with the negative control group experienced an overall decline for the dose A with =0,05, dose B with =0,0011 and dose C with =0,001. Conclusion of this study showed that the extract of Moringa leaves can be potentially as an antioxidant in all doses at once can be as hepatoprotektor at high doses is 1000mg / 200BB Rattus Novergicus.

Abstract

Exposure to cigarette smoke can cause oxidative stress, which characterized by increased activity of g-GT serum. The skins of the mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) contain anthocyanins pigments, which can act as antioxidants to reduce free radicals. This study mainly aims to investigate the effect of mangosteen skin extracts to decreased activity of g-GT serum in rats exposed to cigarette smoke. This study was true experimental designs with randomized post-test only control group design. This study used thirty male rats were dividing into six treatment groups. Rats exposed to cigarette smoke, which came from two cigarettes, for 4 weeks lead to an increase free radicals in the body. The increased activity of g-GT serum to damp the free radicals. Mangosteen skin extracts can reduce free radicals so that the activity of g-GT serum decreased. The conclusion of this research is the mangosteen skin extracts can decrease the activity of the g-GT serum.

Abstract

Strongyloidiasis is a parasitic disease caused by the roundworm Strongyloides stercoralis. The roundworm is found in soil contaminated by feces containing the worm, which then burrow through the skin and enter the bloodstream. They then enter the lungs and burrow through the tissue separating the airways from the esophafus and enter the digestive tract, where they lay eggs and reproduce. Many people who are infected with the roundworm have no symptoms of the disease. Strongyloides infections are more common in tropical and subtropical climates than in cooler temperate areas. Strongyloides stercoralis is a parasite that has both free-living and parasitic life cycles. In the parasitic life cycle, female worms are found in the superficial tissues of the human small intestine. There are no parasitic males.

Abstract

To determine acute Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnant women, is of interest worldwide due to the risk of congenital toxoplasmosis. Ability to diagnose recently acquired infection in the pregnant woman and congenital infection in the fetus and newborn was improved. Interpreting on maternal serological screening tests by new methods  should not rely on a single sample test but need confirmatory testing through a nationally recognized reference laboratory if results of serological tests are positive.
