Abstract

There are 5 highest causes of maternal mortality which include bleeding, hypertension in pregnancy, infection, prolonged labor, and abortion. One of the prevention and management efforts is to provide immediate and efficient help through hospital services (Ministry of Health, 2014). This research has aims to find the quality of nursing services on patients after cesarean surgery using the SmartBook. Methods: This is Quasi-Experiment that provides treatment with the SmartBook for 4 days in the hospital and assessed nursing services quality. Samples were taken using accidental and random sampling (20 for the intervention group and 21 for the control group). Data was collected using observation sheet and questionnaire, then analyzed with a t-test. Result: There are four variables of nursing service quality (p-value<0.05) indicating significant difference: patient safety, self-care, anxiety, and knowledge of discharge planning, while 2 others (comfort and satisfaction) are not (p-value>0.05). Application of the SmartBook for women following cesarean surgery improves nursing service quality. We suggest further research on nurse and midwife perception about the use of the SmartBook as media of care, both about its use and how far can improve job satisfaction of nurse/midwife.

Abstract

The incidence rate of Diabetes in Indonesia is increasing every year. In as much as 8.7% of Diabetes sufferer, they suffer from diabetic ulcer, and 1,5% undergo body amputation. This condition reveals that the problem needs special attention to treatment. Some researches show benefit and effectivity of wound care with honey and virgin coconut oil (VCO) at some nursing clinics. Nurses and patients have a complaint on the high cost of pharmacy product for wound care available in the market. This research aims to compare 3 types of preparation for diabetic ulcer care. Those are VCO, honey, and pharmacy product, which the last is for group control. This research uses experimental quasi method to compare wound healing in 3 groups using 3 types of solution: honey, VCO, and pharmacy product. It involves samples, 11 respondents for VCO group, 10 respondents for the honey group, and 10 respondents for pharmacy product which serves as a control group. Analysis using dependent t-test proves that there is a score difference between wound care before and after treatment using all types of preparation. Analysis using independent t-test show that there is no difference in wound healing between using VCO and using pharmacy product, also, there is a difference among honey, VCO, and pharmacy product. This research recommends VCO preparation, which has benefit nearly equal to pharmacy product to be an alternative in wound care for rural residents with middle and lower-income.

Abstract

Stunting cases in North Lampung continuously increase due to lack of visits by mothers to perform stimulation, detection, early intervention for toddler development (SDIDTK). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of cadre empowerment on SDIDTK completion among children under five. The intervention of SDIDTK training for 50 cadres. The study used a Quasi-experimental Pre and Post-Test Design without control. Univariate data analysis with proportion, average, and standard deviation. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon-test and Pearson Chi-Square Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the average score of knowledge of the cadres before and after the empowerment of cadres (p-value = 0.000). There was a significant correlation between cadre empowerment and the measurement completion of height, head circumference, and measurement of development (p-value = 0.000), however, there is no significant relationship between cadre empowerment and the completion of body weight measurement (p-value = 0.317). Suggestions for Health workers and health offices to carry out training on SDIDTK to all cadres, to provide guidance and motivation, and to provide SDIDTK facilities and infrastructure at Posyandu.

Abstract

The regulation of Nursing Practice increasingly encourages nurses to carry out independent practice legally. 447 practitioners in mid-2021 provide health care in Lampung, but there is no data about services available. This study aims to get an overview of the health problems served by practitioners. The research was held with a descriptive design. Data was collected by internet through a consecutive sampling of the population and gaining a sample of as many as 178 respondents. They were obtained and spread over 227 sub-districts throughout Lampung Province. The data is processed through cleaning and editing stages, equating terms, and then calculating the frequency. The results showed most cases are respiratory tract disorders (infections) with 167 cases. But non-communicable health problems become dominant such as gastrointestinal disorders and hypertension. Suggestions are given to professional organizations related to problem management in interprofessional collaboration, forming clinical pathways, and planning to increase understanding and application of standard diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions with a uniform nursing language in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to produce paper-based forms that meet the needs of nurses in home care. The method is development research referring to the concept of the Technology Acceptance Model. The results of the analysis show the nurse's belief in the form: believes and feels its usefulness, thinks and feels the ease of use, has a positive attitude towards the form as evidenced by the appreciation conveyed, socialization and advocacy plans to professional organizations, great interest in using it in practice and actual positive behavior demonstrated by multiplying the forms, applying them in practice and using them at the puskesmas home visits. Practitioners expect improvements in column size, increased nursing care content, and standardization. In conclusion, the forms produced in this study can be accepted by independent practice nurses, are ready to be applied, and can be adapted into electronic systems. Nurses have felt its usefulness and ease of use and have continuously proven its use in practice. Keywords: Documentation, Forms, Acceptance, Independent Nursing Practice
