Abstract

Background Thyroid hormone stimulates the regulation of β-adrenergic receptors in order to increase the inotropic effect of the heart myocardium. Euthyroid sick syndrome is a disorder of non-metabolic thyroid function, which is characterized by a decrease in triiodothyronine (T3) levels in patients with non-thyroid systemic disease, such as sepsis. Low serum T3 hormone level is a potentially high-risk factor for mortality from sepsis. Objective To assess for a relationship between decreased serum T3 levels and mortality in pediatric sepsis patients admitted in the PICU. Methods This study used a nested case-control design. The subjects were children aged 1 month-18 years who were diagnosed with sepsis in the pediatric intensive care unit at Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, Bali, from September 2017 to January 2019. Results A total of 90 children were included, of whom 44 died and 46 survived. Median age was 10.5 (IQR 44) months in subjects who died and 9 (IQR 50) months in those who survived. The majority of subjects in both groups had well-nourished nutritional status. Bivariate analysis revealed that significantly more subjects who died had low serum T3 (≤1 ng/dL), PELOD-2 score ≥5, than subjects who survived. Multivariate analysis revealed that serum T3 £1 ng/dL (OR 55.1; 95%CI 9 to 334.8; P<0.001) and PELOD-2 score ³5 (OR 6.5; 95%CI 1.6 to 26.7; P=0.01) were significant risk factors for sepsis mortality. Conclusion Low serum T3 level and high PELOD-2 score are risk factors for death in sepsis.

Abstract

We will discuss a simple multitasking philosophy based on a close link among four (4) groups of scientific findings from the complicated forests, the shallow or deep seas, and the small islands future technologies, as well as its dramatically impacts in Maluku province economy. The results are then compared to world high multitasking technology system based on our proposed philosophy linked to biodiversity called as multitasking philosophy in diversity (MPD). The detail of simple explanations of such complicated multitasking diversity is presented. While the multitasking impacts in diversity of two to three different multidisciplinary fields are highlighted in a simple way step by step. This novel MPD has been analyzed to be able to increase the Maluku economy as large as 75%.

Abstract

Kisar is one of outside islands of Moluccas Province. The climate on the island is extreme so to guarding for food security against it Meher ethnic group use their traditional wisdom,”hapa”. Hapa is a traditional farming system which is effective for the agriculture cultivication. Hapa bring a lot of hidden rationality and full support to the farmers of Meherto guard their food security that can be developed to all small islands which have the same climate. Hapa also exsists with the Meher women as mam lele her that means the giver of life for the family. Hapa and mam lele her support gender division labor.

Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is one of the countries in Asia with the percentage of short toddlers besides Myanmar and Vietnam. Although Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore have stunting cases, the stunting prevalence is less than 20 percent. Objective: To determine the prevalence of stunting and malnutrition in the work area of the Rumah Tiga Health Center. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 954 children under five. Result: the prevalence of stunting in children under five is 17.9 percent. The Body Mass Index of toddlers with a below-normal category is 4.82 percent. Conclusion: Toddlers who experience stunting occur at the age of 1-3 years and are dominated by males. Toddlers who have a body mass index below normal are also at the age of 1-3 years and are male.

Abstract

Pendahuluan.

Abstract

Neonatal jaundice is incident biological on baby that appears because production cell blood red tall and marked low bilirubin excretion with symptom skin colored yellow baby seen weak, urine colored dark until tanned. Reasons neonatal jaundice among other caused because maternal factors, perinatal factors neonate. Study aim for know connection age gestation dan heavy born neonate with jaundice neonatorum at RSUD dr. M. Haulussy Ambon in 2018-2020. Study this is research using design case control, data obtained is secondary data from record medical patients at RSUD dr. M. Haulussy Ambon obtained 154 samples . Data obtained analyzed use Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) 26. Based on the results of the chi-square test, there was a significant relationship between gestational age (p=0.025) and the incidence of neonatal jaundice, as well as neonatal birth weight (p=<0.001). M. Haulussy Ambon 2018-2020.
