The pedestrian pathway can interact socially between communities. A pedestrian should be able to ensure safety and comfort as well as aesthetic value for pedestrians. The pedestrian pathway is crucial in urban design elements, especially in areas with high activity levels. As in Taman Setia Budi Indah Football Field, the existing pedestrian path is not able to accommodate its users. Both of the pedestrian materials and pedestrian supporting elements do not meet the elements of comfort and security and aesthetic value. The researcher tries to find modeling of a pedestrian path in that area which fulfills the element of comfort, safe and aesthetic value. The research method used is a qualitative method of observation. The method is analyzed based on theoretical analysis based on the comparison of the variable that has been determined. Through the theoretical analysis found several criteria pedestrian that meets the elements of comfort. The results of the analysis are then made modeling pedestrian paths around the Football Field in Taman Setia Budi Indah in the form of additional pedestrian width and other supporting elements such as seating, lighting, bins etc. to improve the safety and comfort for the walkers and utilization of river potentials in the area such as the attraction when walking.

Pedestrian path is a space for pedestrian activities to carry out activities and to provide services topedestrians so that it can improve the smoothness, safety, and comfort of pedestrians when crossing it. Infact the pedestrian paths that exist are mostly unable to meet the passions of pedestrians. The length oftime pedestrians are less noticed, which should be passed comfortably suddenly blocked by poles, trees,trash cans, stops, and traffic signs because the placement is not adjusted to the place so that thecirculation of road users becomes narrow and disturbed. This study aims to find aspects of comfort in thepedestrian path. Research uses quantative methods. This study found that some of the pedestrian path inthe study area were comfortable, but some were uncomfortable.

Merdeka Square is a public open space which is intended for all people. Public open space is a place as aÂ general basis where people carry out functional and ritual activities that bind the community, both in theÂ normal routine of daily life or in periodic celebrations. Merdeka Square is a place frequented by some ofÂ the citizens of Medan City. Even visitors from outside Medan came to take time to stop at Merdeka SquareÂ when certain events were held at Merdeka Square. This is what attracts people - certain people use theÂ crowd to become the potential to run a business. So it is not surprising that in the Merdeka Square area atÂ certain events and days it will be crowded not only with the presence of visitors to Merdeka Square, butÂ also the presence of the informall sector such as street vendors. The purpose of this study is to obtain orÂ produce a design proposal to organize the Street Vendors in the Merdeka Square Area in hopes ofÂ increasing comfort for visitors in the Merdeka Square Area.

The purpose of this study was to find out the visitor's perception of the convenience of activities related to the presence of street vendors on Merdeka Square in Medan. The researcher collected data through the distribution of questionnaires consisting of three parts, namely in the first section containing Respondent Data, the second part contained eight Closed Questions, and in the third section contained four Open questions. This questionnaire was given to visitors to Merdeka Square as many as 45 respondents. The results of the Respondent's Answer are then tabulated, where each answer has an assessment weight. The first stage of processing the results of this assessment is to find the average analyzed based on Quartile on eight indicator variables, and test the validity of the questionnaire variables. Validity test is used to compare the correlation index r product moment Pearson with a significance level of 5%. which tells the assessment of all visitors to the presence of Street Vendors at Merdeka Square in Medan. The results of respondents' evaluations based on quartile analysis showed that the assessment score was at 958, which means that it was known that visitor perceptions of the presence of street vendors in Merdeka Square were quite negative. This is related to the convenience of Visitors in carrying out activities at Merdeka Square.

The society of Batak Toba in Huta Siallagan has customs inherited by their ancestors, where there areÂ customs and cultural patterns in the outer space including cultural ceremonies, customs and traditions.Â Based on the phenomenon found in the tourist village of Huta Siallagan, the researcher examines a cultureÂ pattern that has been formed and has its own attraction in the form of cultural tourism that makes it asÂ one of tourism assets based on the potential of rural areas. Qualitative descriptive research strategy isÂ where qualitative research is rooted in the natural setting as a whole, relying on human as a research tool,Â utilizing qualitative methods and conducting inductive data analysis. Qualitative research is concerned withÂ the process rather than results. Desiring the limits of the research on the basis of the focus that arises asÂ a problem, has a set of criteria for measuring the validity of data through agreement between theÂ researcher and the subjects studied and descriptive studies trying to describe and interpret what is andÂ can be about the conditions or relationships that exist, , ongoing processes, effects, or growing trends.Â Descriptive studies are primarily concerned with the present, although it is not uncommon to take intoÂ account past events and their effects on current conditions on the pattern of outer space on culturalÂ activities occurring in Huta Siallagan

Batak Tobaâ€™s traditional houses is one of the relics of batak tribe tradition that up to now still many abandon the values ofÂ philosophy and beauty and create a natural picture that is considered to have soul. Batak traditional house is a building thatÂ characterizes the house or typical of the tribe of Batak which symbolizes the culture and characteristics of theÂ batakÂ community. Discussion in this research about typology facade of traditional Batak Toba house building in Tomok Village, HutaÂ Bolon and Huta Siallagan. Facade typology discussed in this research is the front view, the use of materials, dimensions, theÂ use of color, the placement of doors and windows of traditional houses of Batak Toba in Samosir. The research method usedin this research is qualitative, that is describing the existing condition data of facade design from some custom house of BatakÂ Toba which is located from three different villages namely Tomok Village, Huta Siallagan and Huta Bolon. Data analysis in thisÂ qualitative research is to search and arrange systematically data obtained from the results of field notes and documentationby organizing into categories, describing in units, synthesizing, arranging into patterns and making conclusions.
