Abstract

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the commodities as a foreign exchange earner in addition to oil and gas. However, Indonesian cocoa imports have increased from year to year due to low cocoa productivity. Whereas in terms of region, Indonesia has the potential to become a new cocoa power country in the world of cocoa production. This study examines the effect of rainfall, the number of rainy days, and air temperature on cocoa production in the Gunungkidul district. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of time series data on rainfall, rainy days, air temperature, and cocoa production in 2016-2020 in Gunungkidul Regency. The regression analysis results showed that all observed climatic factors such as rainfall, rainy days, and temperature did not have a significant effect on cocoa production in Gunungkidul Regency. However, the time-series data shows that the highest cocoa production was in October 2017 and November 2018 to January 2019, when rainfall and intensity (rainy days) began to increase. Meanwhile, the air temperature in Gunungkidul Regency for five years is around 24-26°C, which is the optimum temperature for cocoa growth. This study concludes that rainfall, rain intensity (rainy days), and temperature affect fluctuations in cocoa production.

Abstract

Abstract- The purpose of this research is to find out the basic system in the supply chain, and the dynamic system of the brown sugar supply chain in Banyuwangi Regency. This research is a combination of explanatory research and causal research and uses a system dynamics approach by considering the GAP between supply and demand for local markets. Data analysis was performed using a dynamic system simulation using the powers program with a validation test through the calculation of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The final results show that the basic system of brown sugar agroindustry supply chain in the Banyuwagi Regency can be identified as actors, activities, and outputs. Until 2019, the demand for meeting local brown sugar needs is greater than the supply of brown sugar in the Banyuwangi Regency. To accelerate the fulfillment of local needs for brown sugar, it is necessary to increase the productivity of the sap juice subsystem as the main raw material for the brown sugar agroindustry subsystem in the Banyuwangi Regency.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest tea producing countries where dry tea production is exported to various countries. The tea industry absorbs a lot of labor both from the area around the tea garden and from outside the garden area. Tea pickers are workers who really need their existence, considering the quality and quantity of tea depends on how they work. The wages of tea pickers are very low due to the small amount of picking weight produced because the picking system is still done manually. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of manual picking mechanization and using scissors on the wages earned by pickers. Sampling was done randomly and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the picking system and the wages of the pickers. The use of picking scissors can increase wages by 40.18%. The increase in pickers' income is expected to be able to motivate pickers to work optimally to increase the welfare of Wonosobo tea pickers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of mycorrhizae and organic materials on the coffee seedlings growth. The experimental design was the Complete Group Randomized Design by using factorial pattern with two factors. The first factor was the dose of mycorrhizal with 3 levels; namely with no mycorrhizae, 5 g / polybag, and 10 g / polybag. The second factor was the type of organic materials with 4 factors; namely with no organic material, compost, lamtoro green manure, and vermicompost. Each combination treatment has 6 replication. The results of the experiments showed that mycorrhizal fungi did not provide the real interactions for almost all observed parameters, except for seedling height, and dry weight of coffee seedlings. Application of 5 grams of mycorrhizae on the media mixed with lamtoro leaves has produced the best plant height of 22.27 cm, while the best parameters for stem dry weight were in the giving of 10 grams of mycorrhizal in media mixed with lamtoro leaves, which was 1.58 grams . The results of the experiments also showed that the giving of various kinds of organic materials had a good influence on the number of leaves, number of roots, wet weight of roots, wet weight of leaves, dry weight of roots, and dry weight of leaves. In the parameters of the number of leaves, number of roots, wet weight of roots, and dry weight of roots; the best results were coffee seedlings planted in soil media (without organic material addition). While the treatment of planting media with lamtoro leaves gave the best results on wet weight of stems (2.97 g), wet weight of leaves (10.79 g), and dry weight of leaves (3.13 g).
