Abstract

Tebu (Saccharum officianarum L.) adalah tanaman yang mempunyai banyak manfaat, salah satunya sukrosa yang terdapat pada batang tebu yang dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan kristal gula. Kristal gula yang terbentuk mengalami pemrosesan yang panjang, dimulai dari penggilingan tebu hingga pemasakan. Pada proses pengolahan tersebut akan menghasilkan gula produk sekaligus limbah cair yang memiliki beban pencemaran organik tinggi. Tindak produksi bersih dalam industri gula tebu diperlukan agar penghematan air baku dan pencemaran air dapat terlaksana. Kajian terhadap produksi bersih dilakukan melalui studi kasus yang sifatnya deskriptif pada salah satu industri gula tebu di Indonesia. Identifikasi terhadap peluang produksi bersih dilakukan agar diperoleh pengaruh keseluruhan terhadap kinerja lingkungan, terutama pengurangan terhadap beban influen yang masuk ke IPAL. Sebanyak 6 alternatif peluang produksi bersih untuk penghematan konsumsi air baku dan 4 alternatif peluang produksi bersih untuk reduksi timbulan limbah cair diberikan. Peluang produksi bersih yang akhirnya dapat diterapkan yakni recycle air kondensat larutan gula, air bekas scrubber dan penerapan good house keeping. Debit air yang masuk ke IPAL berkurang 51.72%, setara dengan 4500 m3 air baku per hari, atau penghematan sebesar Rp 17.235.310,00 per tahun. Perancangan desain IPAL ulang juga diusulkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan konvensional yang melekat pada sistem kolam anaerobik-aerobik.

Abstract

Community development is a synergy of profit, people, and planet providing both financial and environmental achievement.  The Indonesian Company Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management or PROPER is an obligation for companies listed at the Indonesian stock exchange. The status of beyond compliance ranking as stated in green and gold is the main achievement for companies wanted their top program to be included in PROPER. The purpose of this study is to assess community empowerment programs that are followed by PROPER's internal-external criteria using the AHP method. The criteria used are five internal criteria and six external criteria. There are three options included in top programs such as KIPAS Park, creative ecotourism village, and energy and food independent village. The results of this study are in the form of top programs namely energy and food self-sufficient villages ranked first, KIPAS parks ranked second and creative eco-tourism villages ranked third. The range between the actual sequences is not too far, the company can carry out further analysis such as SWOT or IOOC to strengthen the argumentation about its top flagship program.

Abstract

Urban communities need urban forests in improving the quality of mental  and physical health during the New Normal. If ecotourism or urban forest is a top priority in implementing the New Normal, managers must determine designs, and make procedures related to the applicable COVID-19 protocol. The research objective was to measure the comfort level of visitors before and during the pandemic using big data, then compile comfort design recommendations according to visitor preferences during the pandemic based on survey methods. Social media Twitter and Google Map Review mentioning the Bogor Botanical Garden were collected a year before and six months during the pandemic. Analysis of text mining is carried out in order to obtain sentiment and initial perceptions about the Bogor Botanical Garden. Initial perceptions of visitors were used to construct the survey questionnaire. Furthermore, quantitative survey methods were used to analyze visitor activity and comfort. Visitor comfort is limited to abiotic factors, namely accessibility, and facilities. Sentiment analysis shows pre-pandemic conditions had 48.26% more positive word frequency than during the pandemic for Twitter, but 23.29% less than during the pandemic for Google Map Review. Twitter are more sensitive to the current situation than Google Map Review. Positive perceptions of comfort include compliance management of KRB under the COVID-19 protocol (11.7%), better management (10.8%), well-maintained facilities and infrastructure (7.2%), and maintained hygiene (7.2%). Comfort design recommendations based on respondents' preferences for comfort (14.4%) include increasing the number of toilets, the number of rest areas, ramps for the elderly, areas and attractions to attract children, parks with new themes, and sustainability elements.

Abstract

Banjir, kesulitan pasokan air bersih dan hilangnya spesies tertentu merupakan akibat yang timbul dari perubahan iklim. Semarang sebagai salah satu kota pesisir di Pulau Jawa juga memiliki kerentanan terhadap perubahan iklim. Terjadinya “rob” atau intrusi air laut ke daratan dan kekeringan berkepanjangan hingga menyebabkan pasokan air tanah berkurang merupakan isu pokok. Adaptasi perubahan iklim lambat laun perlu dilakukan agar isu-isu tersebut teratasi. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah pendampingan adaptasi perubahan iklim yang berbalut kearifan lokal, bagi peserta didik di tingkat pendidikan dasar. Tujuan kegiatan pendampingan melalui program IPB Mengabdi adalah tercapainya tingkat kepahaman peserta didik terhadap kearifan lokal sebagai bentuk adaptasi iklim. Metode pendampingan dilakukan satu sesi, pelaksanaannya mulai dari tahap identifikasi media dan peserta didik, tahap implementasi dengan platform daring, dan tahap evaluasi untuk mengukur kepuasan guru terhadap materi pendampingan. Selama pelaksanaan, peserta didik dapat menjawab pertanyaan dan antusias mengerjakan penugasan mandiri. Hasil survei kepuasan guru menunjukkan nilai likert sebesar 2 yang berarti puas terhadap materi yang disampaikan, guru dapat mengaplikasikan materi di kelas dan dapat berpartisipasi langsung dalam menilai tugas mandiri peserta didik. Kegiatan ini dapat dilaksanakan kembali pada periode berikutnya, dengan metode penyampaian yang lebih menarik.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penciptaan dan pengembangan material pembelajaran dalam situasi ketidakpastian saat ini merupakan tantangan yang dihadapi pendidik. Tantangan tersebut terjawab seiring teknologi Augmented dan Virtual Reality (AR dan VR) mulai diterapkan di kelas praktikum. Pengembangan modul praktikum mata kuliah Kualitas Udara dan penilaian keberterimaan modul bagi mahasiswa Prodi D3 Teknik dan Manajemen Lingkungan merupakan tujuan dalam penelitian ini.  Modul terdiri dari buku panduan, marker AR, aplikasi KU-AR dan kuisioner formatif yang diisi oleh responden 28 mahasiswa. Analisis formatif menunjukkan mayoritas mahasiswa dapat menerima modul dan menjadi termotivasi untuk mempelajari desain alat pengendali pencemar udara lanjutan. Pengenalan alat pengendali pencemar udara melalui modul AR dapat memberikan pengalaman yang berguna bagi mahasiswa, khususnya vokasi. Kata Kunci: alat pengendali, aplikasi KU-AR, modul praktikum, pengembanganAbstract: The creation and development of learning materials in today's uncertainty is a challenge for educators.  Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) technologies responded to this challenge since they began to be applied in practicum classes. The development of the practicum module for the Air Quality course and the assessment of module acceptance for D3 Engineering and Environmental Management Study Program students are the objectives of this research. The module consists of a guidebook, AR markers, the KU-AR application, and a formative questionnaire filled out by 28 student respondents. The constructive analysis shows that most students can receive the module and become motivated to study advanced air pollutant control design. The introduction of air pollutant controllers through the AR module can provide a useful experience for students, especially vocational students.Keywords: air pollutant controller, development, KU-AR application, practicum module

Abstract

Over the past decade, emission from carbon monoxide (CO) has risen due to the increase of vehicles per year. Bogor as a weekend tourist tour town has a heavy burden in the terms of the volume of motor vehicles. The object of this study is Baranangsiang Bogor toll gateway, where queue of motor vehicles is often the case, and allegedly produces many pollutants CO. This study was conductes to simulate the CO concentration by the method of Finite Length Line Source (FLLS) aroung Baranangsiang Bogor toll gateway and recapitulate types of diseases associated with CO impacts on communities around the toll is in line with the pattern of increase in the volume of vehicles at 6% per years. Based on the result of measurements and simulations that were conducted on four sampling points within 20 m and 190 m from the sources pollutions on 26th August to 1st September 2014, the concentration of CO is still within the range of quality standards in accordance with Regulation No. 41 of 1999 which is 634-9189 µg/Nm3. Dispesion of pollutants CO dominantly heading Eastwards with the wind speed measurements 1.5-5.2 m/s and atmospheric stability class B. Kampung Sawah RT 02 RW 07is exposed to higher CO. Recapitulation of medical records showed that CO intoxication suspected cases of the disease are more common in Kampung Sawah housing than IPB Baranangsiang 4 Settlement.Keywords : Baranangsiang Toll Gate, Carbon Monoxide, CO Intoxication, Dispersion CO

Abstract

Buildings operational and maintenance can cause an increase in global warming, so it is necessary to apply the concept of green building. Most buildings in Indonesia are old buildings, so the Green Building Council Indonesia issues green building standards for existing buildings. The problems analyzed are the value of implementing green buildings in the Regional Library of East Java Province and recommendations that can be given after the assessment. The study method consisted of field observations, expert interviews, and a questionnaire survey with the Guttman Scale referring to the Greenship Existing Building version 1.0 using 12 of 41 criteria. There are 7 benchmarks for each criterion that have not been met, such as pedestrian facilities, percentage of softscape, provision of non-pet habitat, routine recording on kWh meters, operating and maintenance guides for air conditioning systems and electronic devices, collection and sorting of waste by type, as well as lighting that is less than the standard of SNI 03-6197-2000. The Regional Library of East Java Province received a Greenship Existing Building version 1.0 certification value of 26 points or 53.1% of 49 points. Recommendations are given so that the assessment benchmarks that are still not available can be met.

Abstract

Greenhouse gasses (GHGs) emissions are currently a worldwide concern, both in the process of reducing or preventing them. The study aims to calculate and to assess the contribution of GHGs based on waste management activities at the MRF. The activity components is special activities at MRF (composting). The estimation of greenhouse gas emissions is calculated based on the 2006 Tier 1 method of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The GHGs assessment is carried out on these two processes, starting from the production of waste from domestic sources to composting. The study indicates that the average value of GHGs calculations for composting activities at MRF is 0.182 tons CO2-eq/year. If the calculation of waste reduction through the composting process at TPS 3R is applied, the average GHG reduction percentage is 0.16%. Moreover, there is a causal relationship between the waste management program and the reduction in landfill waste, which will lead to reduced GHGs emissions. ABSTRAKEmisi gas rumah kaca (GRK) saat ini menjadi perhatian seluruh dunia, baik itu dalam proses pengurangan ataupun pencegahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung dan menilai kontribusi GRK khususnya pada aktivitas komposting di TPS 3R. Estimasi emisi gas rumah kaca dihitung berdasarkan metode The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Tahun 2006 Tier 1. Metode pengelolaan sampah eksisting di TPS 3R disandingkan dengan metode pengelolaan sampah tanpa TPS 3R/ langsung dibawa ke TPA Galuga. Penilaian GRK dilakukan terhadap dua proses tersebut, dimulai dari produksi sampah sumber timbulan domestik hingga pengomposan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai rerata perhitungan GRK untuk kegiatan pengomposan di TPS 3R diperoleh sebesar 0,182 ton CO2-eq/tahun. Apabila perhitungan reduksi sampah melalui proses komposting di TPS 3R diterapkan, persentase reduksi rerata GRK diperoleh sebesar 0,16%. Dengan demikian ada hubungan sebab akibat antara program pengolahan sampah dengan pengurangan timbunan sampah di TPA, yang akan menyebabkan berkurangnya emisi GRK.
