Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian untuk mengetahui (1) manakah yang menghasilkan prestasi belajar lebih baik antara pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Kuantum dan Discovery Learning; (2) manakah yang menghasilkan prestasi belajar lebih baik antara siswa dengan motivasi belajar matematika tinggi atau sedang, tinggi atau rendah, maupun sedang atau rendah; (3) pada masing-masing model pembelajaran, manakah yang menghasilkan prestasi belajar lebih baik antara siswa dengan motivasi belajar tinggi atau sedang, tinggi atau rendah, maupun sedang atau rendah; (4) pada masing-masing tingkat motivasi belajar matematika, manakah yang menghasilkan prestasi belajar lebih baik antara model pembelajaran kuantum dan model Discovery Learning pada materi Aturan Sinus, Kosinus dan Luas Segitiga.Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksperimental semu. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta kelas X IPS semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu 2 kelas dengan jumlah total siswa kedua kelas tersebut adalah 60 siswa. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) model pembelajaran Kuantum memberikan prestasi belajar matematika yang lebih baik daripada model Discovery Learning; (2) siswa dengan motivasi belajar matematika tinggi memiliki prestasi belajar yang sama baiknya dengan siswa motivasi belajar matematika sedang maupun rendah; (3) pada masing-masing model pembelajaran, siswa dengan motivasi belajar matematika tinggi menghasilkan prestasi belajar yang sama baiknya dengan siswa dengan motivasi belajar matematika sedang maupun rendah; (4) Pada masing-masing motivasi belajar matematika, pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Kuantum menghasilkan prestasi belajar yang lebih baik dibandingkan model Discovery Learning pada materi Aturan Sinus, Kosinus dan Luas Segitiga

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Apakah penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan strategi motivasi ARCS dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika pada siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. 2) Dampak prestasi belajar matematika dari siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 setelah diberikan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan strategi motivasi ARCS. Data yang dikumpulkan pada penelitian ini adalah data keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran, data motivasi belajar matematika dan data prestasi belajar siswa. Cara untuk mendapatkan data keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar matematika menggunakan metode observasi, sedangkan untuk data prestasi belajar dengan metode tes. Indikator ketercapaian penelitian ini adalah setidaknya 60% siswa mencapai motivasi belajar kategori tinggi (indikator yang dilakukan sebesar 66,67% atau lebih dari keseluruhan indikator). Hasil penelitian adalah: 1) Penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan strategi motivasi ARCS dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 hingga memenuhi indikator ketercapaian penelitian pada siklus II yaitu sebesar 64,29% siswa memiliki motivasi kategori tinggi. 2) Dengan meningkatnya motivasi belajar siswa, berdampak pula pada meningkatnya prestasi belajar. Pada siklus I sebanyak 7,14% siswa mencapai KKM, sedangkan pada siklus II, sebanyak 28,57% siswa mencapai KKM

Abstract

The geometry in flipbook multimedia can improve the necessary skills of the 6th graders, so that achieve the highest level of geometric thinking that is informal deductive. The flipbook which uses technology with flipping experience, animation, video, and music is different than the ordinary printed book. Also, it looks more exciting and interactive for students. The aim of this research measures flipbook effectiveness on limited-scale and wide-scale tryout, it is reviewed from Skill Gist Competence domain (KI-4) of Curriculum 2013 on geometry primary skill indicator, also examining flipbook efficacy if it is compared with the printed book which has been used before. The instrument used on a limited-scale tryout and wide-scale tryout is a rubric assessment of product-based and performance-based. However, the tool used on the efficacy test is an achievement test which consists of twenty questions of multiple choice. The test material in the achievement test is about quadrilateral and problem-solving. Based on statistic analysis result on the efficacy test, the research result shows that student’s capability who uses flipbook is better than the student who doesn’t, in learning geometry. Furthermore, the conclusion is that flipbook multimedia is more efficacy than before product.

Abstract

This study aims to develop geometry learning media on curved-solid objects using Ispring Suite 8 with 3D effects supported by Google SketchUp. It also aims to find the effectiveness of the media towards the basic geometry skills and the learning result of 9th-grade students of junior high school. This study is a development study which refers to Budiyono’s development model that includes four stages. These stages are the preliminary, product development, product trial on its effectiveness, dissemination and product implementation. The entire stage was imposed on three different schools in Karanganyar, one of a district in Indonesia, by using stratified cluster random sampling. Within the three schools, we took seven classes to join the effectiveness test through the assessment questionnaire and the before-after test, as well as the efficacy test after the expert's judgement using the validation sheet. The result shows that the geometry learning media is valid based on the experts' validation judgement, and also practical based on the teacher and students’ judgement in the trial of the product. The students’ basic geometry skills and learning result are improved after getting the treatment with the media. Finally, we can conclude that this media is effective and able to be used further in the junior high school level.

Abstract

Abstract: Constructivism is one of the views in learning theories that affect much of the learning of mathematics. According to experts, the view of mathematics learning as discovery and construction by students is better than the abstract set of science informed by the teacher. Junior high school students are students who begin to be introduced and understand abstract way of thinking, so students should not be taught by way of rote memorization without meaning, especially on learning mathematics filled with abstract symbols. This article aims to describe the learning of Junior high school mathematics in constructivism perspective: planning, process, assessment of learning, role of student and teacher role. This article is using library research method. The data collected and analyzed are secondary data in the form of research results including books, journal articles and conference proccedings relevant to the topic. The results show that constructivism is a new way of thinking that knowledge is not only through the transfer process, but the knowledge grows and develops from activities, such as the activity of constructing the concept of variables and constants using the help of contextual problems. Assessment used in learning mathematics in the perspective of constructivism is formative and summative assessment. The role of students in junior mathematics learning with constructivism approach focuses on student activity in constructing their own knowledge and its consequences. Meanwhile, the role of teachers in junior high school mathematics with constructivism approach is divided into two namely the teacher as a facilitator and moderator.Keywords: Teacher, Constructivism, Mathematics Learning, Student

Abstract

This exploratory qualitative article with an inductive approach aims to analyze the needs of students of the mathematics education study program at one of the leading universities in Surakarta City regarding learning media that can facilitate the implementation of distance learning during the Coronavirus pandemic. Data were obtained through distributing questionnaires using Google Form to 63 students who had taken the analytic geometry course at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, interviews with 2 lecturers, and 3 students selected through snowball sampling technique. The results of the analysis showed that students need interactive audio-visual teaching materials that can be accessed easily without any internet network constraints. It is evidenced by the results of the survey which show that 70% of students need audio-video-based learning media. The results of this study become the basis for developing learning media that supports the implementation of distance learning
