Abstract

Regardless fewer studies have been conducted in pronunciation teaching, pronunciation has a significant role in language learning to make the meaningful communication occured, as pronouncing word in different ways will cause different in meaning of the word.  Therefore, this article concentrated on the innovative language learning design particularly in pronunciation instruction in an EFL setting, in order to improve the students? phonemes of English, and their listening skill as well. This was a classroom research based on observation carried out in a class consisted of 26 students with basic proficiency level. The observation was conducted once a week in a 2x50 minutes teaching time, for 16 meetings. The last 25 minutes learning time was set for pronunciation. The procedure consisted of three activities: brainstorming words, applying the ?listen-and-read? method, and carrying out evaluation.  The findings indicated that there was a significant improvement  on students? ability in recognizing the sound of the language, and at the same time improving  their pronunciation on being intelligible and comprehensible

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan menggunakan kalimat efektif dalam karangan ilmiah. Karangan ilmiah sebagai bentuk komunikasi tulis yang disampaikan secara tidak langsung mengharuskan penulis menyampaikan pokok informasi secara jelas dan tepat, sehingga tidak menimbulkan ambiguitas dan kerancuan makna. Kalimat yang ambigu dan rancu akan menimbulkan salah penafsiran bagi pembaca yang mengakibatkan pesan yang ingin disampaikan kepada pembaca tidak dipahami dengan sempurna. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh laporan tugas akhir mahasiswa Politeknik Negeri Padang yang diserahkan ke perpustakaan selama kurun waktu satu tahun yaitu tahun 2009.  Berdasarkan data dan informasi yang  diperoleh dari kepala perpustakaan PNP diketahui bahwa jumlah laporan tugas akhir yang masuk selama tahun 2009 berjumlah 575 judul laporan tugas akhir. Laporan tugas akhir ini berasal dari berbagai jurusan yang ada di Politeknik Negeri Padang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kalimat efektif yang digunakan mahasiswa Pilteknik Negeri Padang dalam mnulis kalimat efektif masih rendah dalam kehematan kata dan kelogisan bernalar.

Abstract

Lili Collection is one of the traditional skullcap craftsmen who are on Jl. Beringin RT 01 / RW 01, Lubuk Kilangan Subdistrict, Padang City since 2009. With the speed of development in the industrial world, this business is experiencing difficulties in developing its business and losing market share. This handicraft business has not carried out financial bookkeeping in accordance with UMKM standards. The purpose of this activity is to help traditional skullcap craftsmen to develop their businesses through training and business management and bookkeeping improvements tailored to this type of business, namely MSMEs. So that the hope of this activity is that it can help partners develop their businesses and gain market share in the eyes of the community through proper business management. What is no less important is the existence of this activity, it is hoped that partners will be able to do financial bookkeeping properly according to the MSME standards. This bookkeeping is useful for partners to know their financial position and make this financial information the basis for future decision making.

Abstract

This study aims to create a database application program that is able to process data on lecturer course activities and generate reports on the calculation of teaching fees periodically during the pandemic which requires lecturers to report lecture activities online. The system design method approach used is prototyping, namely by creating a program that most closely resembles user needs in a relatively short time. The prototype was generated using the Microsoft Access 2010 database application. The selection of microsoft access to create a prototype was based on the availability of complete facilities in Microsoft Access to design table relations, input forms, query processing, reports and the visual basic programming language for applications. Google Forms used to receive lecture data input online. The application development stages consist of design, testing and implementation stages. This application has succeeded in providing the right solution for the Padang State Polytechnic Accounting Department during the pandemic in calculating and reporting lecture activities and lecturers teaching fees.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a role for the community in the midst of an economic crisis. By fostering MSMEs, it is believed that economic recovery can be achieved. Basically, MSMEs are mostly informal in nature and therefore tend to be easier for new entrepreneurs to enter. Accounting information has a very important influence on achieving business success, including for small businesses. Accounting information in the form of financial statements can be the basis for MSMEs to make decisions in managing small businesses, including market development decisions, price development, and others. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are synonymous with the lack of awareness to run bookkeeping well in the business world. So that the bookkeeping and filing processes have not been carried out properly and result in a lack of accountability for activities every period. The purpose of this service is to provide training and improvement of bookkeeping and filing at the Idol Bread Business in the city of Bukittinggi. The expected outcome of this dedication is the existence of a bookkeeping process and the improvement of good filing for the sake of business continuity in the future.

Abstract

The development of information and communication runs rapidly in the current modern era. So many technological discoveries in the field. Of course the impact is now making it easier for all the needs and desires of humans and will continue to grow every second. Formerly humans used typewriters to make letters, office administration, and other jobs related to typing. Over time and the development of technology, typewriters gradually replaced by the presence of a computer. The use of computers can help work in terms of making tasks both from the office and from school. So typing skills quickly and precisely are needed. Vocational school is a level of formal education that is ready to go into the world of work. The PKM activity was carried out at SMK Plus BNM Pariaman because this school only taught theories about typing 10 fingers without providing special training. So by giving theory alone, students are not accustomed to typing 10 fingers in accordance with adequate procedures. The goal of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of students to implement a 10-finger typing system and without looking at the keyboard. With this skill, the school will create graduates that are in line with industry needs.

Abstract

Sexual relations between members of the same sex article 292 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) regulates that adults who commit immoral acts of same-sex homosexuals who are not yet adults are threatened with imprisonment for a maximum of five years. Islam regulates both the Qur'an and Al-Hadith in qath'i (firm) and muhkamat (clearly legal provisions) strongly opposed this behavior. Allah calls homosexual acts fashyyah (vicious bandages) accursed. This study applied the concept of the role of the clerics of the Health Service Coordinating Board in the prevention of homosexual HIV / AIDS in the city of Padang, a method for overcoming a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches resulting in policy recommendations. To describe the analysis of this research used descriptive method of prescriptive synthesis analysis. The government has not yet implemented the Draft Law article 292 The proposal applies a criminal law of five or a maximum of ten years, both adults and children or is punished equally with adultery both whipping law for single whips for married people. The regional economy will rise if the Islamic economy is upheld, investors can advance if they intend to improve the welfare of living together.

Abstract

This study is a mixed methods case on English students in a Vocational Higher Education Institution (VHEI) in West Sumatera. It is aiming at investigating factors that influence English proficiency within this case study context by referrin g it to English teaching  and  learning  experience  in  high  schools.  This  research  attempt  was  specified  into  measuring:  (a)  the  differences  and correlation between the students English learning process at both vocational high schools and high schools in general in West Sumatera and the English skills of VHEI students. The methods of data collection are students’ survey, unstructured interview with teachers, and observations at 5 high schools and 5 vocational high schools in 5 different regencies in West Sumatera.  The findings reveal that only16.7% of the VHEI have the score ranged 50-75 on dan 83.23% students has very limited English speaking proficiency by the score 0-50.It is also found : (a) learning processes is similar to the learning situation at the VHEI  and there is significant correlation between these two learning situation, (b) students’ achievement in other subjects do not differ from their English speaking skill and there is no significant correlation between these two variables,

Abstract

The effectiveness of e-learning has some uniqueness and challenges in terms of obstacles faced, and its learning model. This research employs the observation method by observing both spoken and written data, survey, and interview. Data was obtained from 80 higher institutions students and 50 lecturers of four state-owned institutions, and four private institutions.The results show that the effective learning conducted through e-learning has met the expected standard. Through the learning process, the students were provided by motivational training, and educated with character building based on their religious belief. Moreover, the lecturers carried out their teaching process through WhatsApps Group, zoom meeting and/ or google meet applications, and provided the students with instructions and guidance. The instructions and guidances were particularly concerned on how to conduct the online classes with the camera on, comprehending the Semester’s Lesson Plan (SLP) for the whole semester, providing feedback on the materials, examples, video assignments, and weekly tasks given. Besides that the instructions and guidances were also specified for the students to seize the opportunities to present their tasks virtually. Likewise, the supports from the institutions are also needed concerning the committee for quality assurance in the implementation of E-learning, draft, attendance list, journal, contract of the course, motivational to the lectures in implementing E-learning, and video conference room (Vicon) as well.
