Abstract

The background of this research is to find out how non-Javanese students at the University of Muhammadiyah Magelang overcame the obstacles of intercultural communication that had been experienced during college. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze perceptions, adaptation processes, and how to establish intercultural communication relationships non-Javanese students. While the research method uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The results showed that the non-Javanese students at first considered the language of Javanese as a complicated, foreign language, even ridiculous. However, over time non-Javanese students assessed the Javanese communication as unique, polite, refined in a slow and more careful and multilevel tone. The process of adaptation starts from the awareness of the importance of adapting, followed by learning, and finally learning by practicing. In developing a thigh intercultural communication relations, it prioritizes positive thinking, observing the language and nature of Javanese people first so that they can adjust their style of communication with the Javanese without leaving the identity that they are not Javanese and increase the intensity of intercultural communication.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang penelitian ini adalah kesuksesan Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Jawa Timur dalam program eliminasi malaria sehingga pada tahun 2015 Provinsi Jawa Timur mendapatkan sertifikasi eliminasi malaria (kecuali tiga Kabupaten namun sudah diusulkan). Program eliminasi malaria adalah program untuk menghentikan penularan penyakit malaria setempat agar tidak menimbulkan semakin banyak korban, program ini dicanangkan oleh Kementrian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisa kewenangan, spesialisasi/pengkhususan dan peraturan komunikasi organisasi antara Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi dan Kabupaten/Kota di Jawa Timur, juga untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisa pembuatan, pemilihan, dan penyimpanan informasi dalam komunikasi organisasi pada program eliminasi malaria antara Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi dan Kabupaten/Kota di Jawa Timur. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan format studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara mendalam dan metode dokumenter. Hasil penelitian bahwasanya kesuksesan program eliminasi malaria di Provinsi Jawa Timur tidak lepas dari pengorganisasian yang dilakukan dengan tiga komponen yaitu kewenangan, spesialisasi/pengkhususan, dan peraturan yang berjalan sebagai mana mestinya. Hal ini dikarenakan kepatuhan dan pemahaman semua komponen pelaku organisasi program eliminasi malaria di Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Jawa Timur terhadap komponen tersebut. Selain itu, dalam mengolah, memilih atau menyaring, dan menyimpan informasi dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten/Kota dilakukan dengan hati-hati oleh Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi sebagai induk dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten/Kota di Jawa Timur.Kata Kunci: Kesehatan, Komunikasi, Malaria, Organisasi, Program  AbstractThe background of this reasearch is the succeses of Provincial Health Office of East Java ini malaria elemination program that brings all districts/ cities at East Java obtain certification of malaria elemination in 2015 (except the tree districts but it has been proposed). Malaria elimination program is a national program launched by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to stop the transmission of local malaria so that there is no more casualities. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the autority, specialization and regulation of organizayional communication between the Provincial Health Office and District/ City at East Java, as well as to describe and analyze the manufacture, selection, and retention of information in organizational communication between the Provincial Health Office and District/ City at East Java in the malaria elimination program. This is a descriptive and qualitative research that using interviews and documentary methods. The results of the reserch was the succes of malaria elimination program at East Java province cound not be separated from the organizing that carried out with three components which are authority, specialization, and regulations that runs as it should be. This is because of the compliance and understanding of all components of malaria elimination program organization at East Java Provincial Health Office of those components. Moreover, in manufacturing, selecting, and storing information from the District / City Health Office was done with great caution by thr Provincial Health Office as the centre of the District Health Office at East Java.Keywords: Communication, Health, Malaria, Organization, Program

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out the effect of contrastive method toward students? English noun phrases ability, the reflection of students comprehension toward the phrases and the students? perception toward the method in teaching English noun phrases. The object of this study was students at MTS Negeri 3 Mataram grade VIIIA. This study was quasi-experimental that applied mix method: quantitative and qualitative research method.  The instruments for collecting data in this study were a test, questionnaire, and interview guide. The result of this study showed that the method had a positive effect on students? ability in constructing English noun phrases, and the preception of the students toward the method was positive as well. The method affects the students' ability in constructing English noun phrases correctly.

Abstract

The advantage of Islamic Boarding politicians is their ability to preserve the typical Islamic characteristics values; those are ethics and modesty towards the Kiai and Ulama as their teachers. The majority of the Madurese people make Ulama as a role model. Obedience to the Kiai is a form of respect that becomes the identity of Santri, including santri who are involved in practical politics. The uniqueness of santri (santri politicians) when determining the political decision cannot be separated from the blessing from the Kiai, even though they participated in different political party The Kiai's blessing is essentially a political capital that can strengthen its existence in the political competition.The characteristics of santri are to remain istiqomah in the making of local wisdom value as the basis of politics. Buppa 'Bappu', Gurur, ratoh has become an integral part of every political taken step. Getting the blessing from the Kiai who has been united in pesantren becomes a necessity made by bhindara. There are two things to get the blessing from Kiai, First, a direct approval from Kiai by acabis or sowan to the Kiai.Second, an approval through Kiai's sons, by communicating to the Kiai's son about his political choice.

Abstract

The background of this research aims to find out how intercultural communication accommodation of Malaysian student at Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya, so that there is harmonious relationship with the people around them especially in lecture activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe intercultural communication accommodation of Malaysian students at Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya, especially in convergence and divergence. The research method uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The results showed that students from Malaysia at Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya carried out intercultural communication accommodation due to their self-awareness of cultural differences, openness in interaction and a high willingness to learn new cultures and practice them in everyday life. Even so, not all forms of communication in the new culture were adapted in everyday life because they were considered not appropriate to the culture in their hometown in Malaysia. The convergence form of intercultural communication accommodation is by learning Indonesian and Javanese to the closest people, and practicing it by trying to use an accent in accordance with the people around them. The divergence form of intercultural communication accommodation is by maintaining communication distance between types or not being too close physically like students in general. In addition, female students still wear the clothes they usually wear in their hometowns, namely ‘Baju Kurung’ combined with a wide veil. Meanwhile, students often wear Malaysian Malay clothing for religious activities. Keywords: Communication Accommodation, Intercultural Communication, Malaysian Student, Convergence, Divergence.

Abstract

Gadai tanah dengan kurs harga emas di desa Plakpak terjadidengan sistem pembayaran di mana pemberi gadai wajibmelunasi utangnya dengan memperhatikan kurs harga emasyang berlaku pada saat pelunasan utang dilakukan. Carapembayaran yang digunakan penerima gadai sama denganteori nilai waktu uang, di mana uang saat ini lebih bernilaidibandingkan uang pada masa yang akan datang. Dengandemikian, pemberi gadai melunasi utang yang jumlahnya lebihbanyak dibandingkan ketika ia meminjam. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa: pertama, Gadai tanah dengan kurs hargaemas di Desa Plakpak Kecamatan Pegantenan telah lamaberlangsung dan masih belum berakhir hingga sekarang.Transaksi tersebut hanya terjadi di antara kedua belah pihakyang masih memiliki hubungan kerabat dengan menyepakatipelunasan utang yang disetarakan pada kurs harga emas.Adapun tanah jaminan berada di bawah pengelolaan pihakPenerima gadai sampai utang dilunasi. Kedua, gadai tanahdengan kurs harga emas di desa Plakpak menurut tinjauanHukum Islam adalah mubah sepanjang adanya kerelaan diantara kedua belah pihak dan untuk menjaga kestabilan nilaimata uang. Di samping itu, pemanfaatan barang gadai tidaksesuai dengan ketentuan syariah, dikarenakan tanah jaminandikuasai dan dikelola secara penuh oleh penerima gadai.
