Abstract

The design of cashew nut or cashew nut sheller uses appropriate or low technology with consideration of low cost for tool material. This pengkacip tool will be used at Ngudi Koyo, Imogiri, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Cashew shell peeler or cippling device as a result of the design is a modification of the existing cashew shell peeler. Some parts of the existing tool are applied to several modified parts, namely the lever mechanism, picking knife, or lever knife. This paper will discuss the method of selecting a suppressor, lever and picking system on a tool using the morphological map analysis method. Morphological maps will produce alternative designs for cashew nut peeler. The selection of alternative designs will be carried out by analyzing the results of testing in a technical mechanism, material strength, and alternative design quality values. Testing of alternative technical systems mechanisms is done by comparing the mechanical systems of existing tools. The size of the tool uses the anthropometric measurements of the female operator's body, because the operators in the Ngudi Koyo UKM are all women. The tool size adjustment will provide work comfort and increase efficiency. Quality testing in addition to using standard anthropometric standards, will be tested for quality of ease of care, ease of transferring, clean, neat, simple and safe  tool.Key words: Effective technology , low technology tool, security, Design Alternative Testing

Abstract

Persepsi manusia dipengaruhi oleh beberapa aspek selain aspek pengetahuan dan pengalaman.Persepsi penting untuk menentukan keputusan tentang arah dan orientasi tujuan dalam sebuah kota. Pemahaman tentang persepsi yang dipengaruhi arsitektur kota sebagai sumber informasi visual akan membantu perencana kota menentukan perletakan bangunan selain sebagai wadah aktivitas penduduknya akan memiliki fungsi sebagai penanda. Selain itu pemahaman ini akan membantu para desainer grafis dan politisi untuk memahami tentang identitas dan citra kota. Kota memiliki kompleksitas sebagai sumber informasi visual untuk penentuan orientasi.

Abstract

Learning in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic requires changes in teaching methods which are adaptive to the conditions and situations of this pandemic. The boredom of students effected a decrease in understanding the concept of the learning materials. The way students tolearn and teachers to teach all this time must be change. The material must be delivered in order to attract children's interest in learning. From the survey results, most teachers only give assignments and materials using power point slides containing a lot of uninteresting texts and make children dependent on their parents to learn it. Therefore, Vocational lecturers of Sanata Dharma univercity  as social community service team held training for teachers at Kanisius Sengkan Elementary School and Kalyca Elementary School to empower power point as software that they are already accustomed to using for teaching, transform it as a video learning media and interesting interactive learning evaluation which make children will be motivated to learn use video effectively and independent. After participating in this training, the teachers took the initiative to make their learning videos more interesting even though they only used MS Powerpoint software.

Abstract

Instructional strategy is one of important factors to achieve instructional objectives. The instructional strategy developed for a teaching and learning situation will be effective if instructional methods and models are appropriately selected. This article discusses some considerations upon the selection of appopriate instructional strategies and describes a case study in life skills training. The case proves the significant role of appropriate instructional strategies in achieving training objectives.

Abstract

Aplikasi desain industri membutuhkan proses panjang dari sejak memunculkan gagasan, pembuatan konsep rancangan sampai proses produksi. Pengetahuan keilmuan satu bidang saja tidak lagi mampu mengatasi kompleksitas proses tersebut. Desainer tidak lagi berlaku sebagai orang yang memiliki gagasan dan gambar desain pelingkup saja yang harus diwujudkan sementara pihak teknis harus memikirkan bagaimana desain itu diwujudkan secara sepihak. Kolaborasi akan memiliki keuntungan karena pekerjaan perancangan dapat diperkirakan sejak awal konsep rancangan sampai pewujudan pemodelan 3D printing atau prototyping. Projek perancangan robot edukasi dengan sistem pembacaan RFID ini adalah sebuah studi kasus mengkolaborasikan disiplin ilmu robotika dan desain dalam rancangan robot mainan anak. Pembahasan meliputi langkah- langkah kerja proses perancangan, aspek – aspek yang terlibat, dan evaluasi kerja kolaboratif pada perancangan robot edukasi ini. Metode pembahasan dengan dokumentasi proses langkah kerja dan identifikasi prosedur kerja kolaboratif. Diharapkan dengan pengidentifikasian prosedur kerja kolaboratif ini sinergi interdisipliner keilmuan akan lebih dapat dikelola dan dijadwalkan sehingga proses perancangan dapat dilakukan secara efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

Meskipun masa pandemi Covid 19 telah mereda, namun kebiasaan mencuci tangan tetap menjadi kebutuhan. Selain untuk mencegah tertular virus juga untuk menjaga kebersihan diri. Oleh karena itu, pengabdian masyarakat ini melatih kompetensi membuat kran otomatis tanpa sentuh dan membuat instalasinya. Pelatihan membuat instalasi dan kran otomatis kepada umat Gereja Bunda Mara Diangkat ke Surga, Klaten ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi umat untuk memperbanyak dan merawat kran otomatis ini dengan baik. Kran otomatis ini disederhanakan tanpa menggunakan mikrokontroler sehingga selain harga lebih terjangkau juga akan mudah dibuat sendiri. Sistem yang digunakan adalah deteksi oleh inframerah akan mengirimkan perintah ke modul relay untuk mengaktifkan solenoid valve membuka kran, ketika ada obyek yang mengenai sensor dengan jarak kurang lebih 15 cm. Solenoid akan menutup kran setlah obyek dihilangkan.
