Abstract

Asthma is a heterogeneous disease and chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract that has an impact on the decreased quality of life. The design of this research is non-experimental cross-sectional. The variables of this study are illness perception, control of asthma, lung function values, and life quality of asthma patients. The relationship of asthma control, illness perception, lung function value, and life quality of asthma patients can be seen with structural equation modeling using Smart-PLS software. The results are only control of asthma affects life quality, where the coefficient value is 0.511, which is positive and significant (p = 0,000). Lung function value and asthma quality indicate that lung function has a positive relationship direction seen from the coefficient value of 0.306 but not significant (p = 0.061). The correlation between illness perception and life quality of asthma was negative, where the coefficient value was - 0.142 and not significantly different (p = 0.332). This means that the direction of the relationship is reversed; it means the quality of life of asthmatic patients, which affects illness perception by 14.2%. The conclusion is that the life quality of asthmatic patients is influenced by the control of asthma and lung function. But it’s different from illness perception, where there is a negative relationship between illness perception and life quality of asthma patients. Which means illness perception affects the life quality of asthma patients.

Abstract

Abstract: The Covid 19 pandemic has infected 222 countries in the world, including Indonesia. The best effort must be provided to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in order to encourage all citizens to be involved in the prevention and handling of Covid-19 through habits and life style. The expected habits and life style changes aim to increase the compliance of Covid-19 preventive health protocol, which was often known as 3M, (facemask, social distancing and hand hygiene). Through community service activities with the lecture and discussion method, the service team provided education to 27 students at the Yannas Husada Health Vocational School, Bangkalan. Students' knowledge as participants was measured using a questionnaire given before and after the activity took place. The results of this activity indicated an increase in students' knowledge of 3M's health protocols by 44.1%.

Abstract

Chronic Disease Management Program (PROLANIS) is a system of health and proactive services implemented by participants, Health Facilities and BPJS kesehatan in the context of health care for BPJS Kesehatan related participants to obtain optimal quality of life. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that is the target of this program. Individuals with DM are usually with dyslipidemia. Dyslipidemia in diabetes increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze participating in prolanis activities on HbA1C levels in diabetes mellitus patients and to analyze the relationship of HbA1C with lipid risk. Method : This research is an analytic study using a retrospective cohort design. Patient data is secondary data from medical records (P-Care) of DM patients in primary care Klinik Pratama Sartika 59 Surabaya from January to May 2019. The research subjects involved 22 people who were active participants and had HbA1C data in May 2019. Results: The mean HbA1C value in patients who routinely followed the prolanis program (7.15 ± 1.51%) was more controlled than the mean HBA1C in patients who did not routinely participate in prolanis activities (7.95 ± 2.26%). The number of samples caused by differences in the value of HbA1C is not preferred in group 1 and group 2 with p = 0.389 (p> 0.05; CI = 95%). The trial by using the Pearson test between lipid profile with HbA1C obtained results that showed only significant parameters of TG lipids with HbA1C (p = 0.035). Conclusion: The number of samples caused by differences in the value of HbA1C is not preferred in group 1 and group 2 with p = 0.389 (p> 0.05; CI = 95%). Lipid parameters that have significant opposition to HbA1C are only TG lipid parameters. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Dyslipidemia, HbA1C, Prolanis, Lipid Profile

Abstract

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a disease caused by a virus of the genus Enterovirus. HFMD is an infectious disease that often affects children. Although rare, this disease can also affect adults, especially those with low levels of immunity. Symptoms of the flu are a pain in the mouth, and rashes on the hands and feet. HFMD sufferers can transmit the virus through nasal and throat fluids, and feces. Reports in Gorontalo Province showed that there were 38 HFMD cases. Since the beginning of 2022, Gorontalo has also been an increase in HFMD cases in the community. Everyone reported a case of HFMD suspects will be an alert which is a warning of vigilance and needs to be responded to. Intensive efforts are needed to prevent the spread of HFMD from spreading. Seeing this, the service team provided socialization and education about HFMD to increase residents' knowledge so that they could prevent HFMD infection. Based on the results of the HFMD material presentation activities, it is known that there is an increase in knowledge among the residents of Dukuh Menanggal District by 20% in terms of characteristics, symptoms, ways of transmission, and how to prevent HFMD. This increase in knowledge is expected to also increase citizen vigilance and prevent HFMD. Keywords: HFMD; Singapore Flu; Knowledge

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disorder and usually affects the hips, knees, hands and feet. In Indonesia, the prevalence of osteoarthritis reaches 5% at the age of 61 years. For knee osteoarthritis, the prevalence is quite high, namely 15.5% in men and 12.7% in women. Pain is usually the main symptom of Osteoarthritis. Based on the cause is divided into 2, namely primary and secondary osteoarthritis. Based on the location of the joints affected, namely: hands, knees, hips, vertebrae, feet and ankles, shoulders, elbows, temporomandibular. Clinical symptoms in Osteoarthritis that usually appear according to the 2014 IRA Recommendations are: OA pain caused by 3 major causes, morning stiffness, joint motion barriers, joint swelling, disturbances in daily activities. Prevention of osteoarthritis includes maintaining weight, in the elderly using a cane as a tool, protecting joints from injury, exercising regularly. The purpose of this community service is to provide insight to the community regarding the prevention and therapy of this Osteoarthritis disease. Increased public knowledge before and after the activity increased by 45%, public knowledge is also increasing in terms of using drugs to reduce pain from just letting the pain go away, then knowing about drugs that can be used to relieve pain experienced as well as treatments that can be used. This is done to nourish the bones so they don’t experience pain.
