Abstract

Abstract: The average graduation rate of Competency Test for Medical Student Profession Program (UKMPPD) of Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) is still below the national average passing rate in the period of May from year 2015 to 2017, as follows: 30.5%, 35.4%, and 36.3% respectively. This study was aimed to determine whether the results of computer based test (CBT), objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), and UKMPPD were correlated with undergraduate and profession grade point average (GPA), which is one of the benchmarks of students’ success in their study. This was a quantitative retrospective study with a cross sectional design. The required data were obtained from students’ data during education and results of UKMPPD FK Unsrat data (secondary data). The data were analyzed by using Spearman correlation test and Mann Whitney test. Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant correlation (P = 0.001) between undergraduate GPA with CBT (r = 0.770), OSCE (r = 0.544), and UKMPPD results. The professional GPA showed a significant correlation (P = 0.001) with the CBT (r = 0.553), OSCE (r = 0.556), and UKMPD results. Conclusion: There were significant correlations between the undergraduate and professional GPA with the value of CBT, OSCE, and UKMPPD results.Keywords: GPA, CBT, OSCE, UKMPPD Abstrak: Rerata angka kelulusan Uji Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter (UKMPPD) Universitas Sam Ratulangi (Unsrat) masih di bawah rerata angka kelulusan nasional yaitu secara berturut-turut dari tahun 2015 sampai tahun 2017 periode Mei, 30,5%, 35,4%, dan 36,3%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah nilai computer based test (CBT), objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), maupun hasil UKMPPD memiliki hubungan dengan nilai indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) sarjana dan profesi, yang menjadi salah satu tolok ukur keberhasilan seorang mahasiswa dalam pendidikan. Jenis penelitian ialah kuantitatif retrospektif dengan desain potong lintang. Data penelitian diperoleh dari data sekunder berupa data mahasiswa selama menempuh pendidikan dan data hasil UKMPPD FK Unsrat. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman dan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan hubungan bermakna (P=0,001) antara IPK sarjana dengan nilai CBT (r=0,770), nilai OSCE (r=0,544), dan hasil UKMPPD; serta hubungan bermakna (P=0,001) antara IPK profesi dengan nilai CBT (r=0,553), OSCE (r=0,556), dan hasil UKMPPD. Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan bermakna dari IPK sarjana dan profesi dengan nilai CBT, OSCE, dan hasil UKMPPD.Kata kunci: IPK, CBT, OSCE, UKMPPD

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in a tutorial discussion is not separable from the role of tutorial problems which are used to trigger the learning process. Excellent problems are needed for the success of PBL. The evaluation of PBL problems can provide an overview of strengths and weakness as well as inputs for improving the quality of problems. This study was aimed to evaluate the quality of PBL problems in Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University Manado. We used modified questionnaire of Munshi et al. Respondents were asked to answer Likert scale questionnaires which consisted of 18 items added with one item for the overall rating of the PBL problem. The results showed that of a total of 6 problems evaluated by students and tutors, both tutors and students agreed that the weakest aspect was that the problem did not phrase to student perception of their own environment and culture (item 11). The strongest aspect identified by tutors was students were familiar with part of the knowledge necessary for discussing the problem (item 18). The strongest aspect according to students was related to the linkage of the problems with the future profession (item 13). Conclusion: The PBL problems in Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University still needed to be improved. Some aspects had been identified as strengths and weaknesses; those could be used to improve the quality of problems.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, PBL problems, PBL tutorial Abstrak: Penerapan PBL dalam diskusi tutorial tidak lepas dari peran skenario berisikan masalah pasien yang digunakan sebagai pemicu pembelajaran mahasiswa. Skenario PBL yang memiliki kualitas baik sangat penting bagi keberhasilan pembelajaran dengan metode PBL. Evaluasi skenario PBL dapat memberikan gambaran kekuatan dan kelemahan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai masukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas skenario PBL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas skenario PBL di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sam Ratulangi (FK Unsrat) Manado. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah kuesioner dari Munshi et al. Responden diminta memberikan penilaian 18 pernyataan dan satu pertanyaan penilaian secara umum berdasarkan skala Likert. Enam skenario PBL dinilai oleh tutor dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa baik tutor maupun mahasiswa setuju bahwa yang menjadi kelemahan berkaitan dengan skenario PBL yang disusun tidak sesuai dengan wawasan mahasiswa tentang lingkungan dan kebudayaan (item 11). Menurut tutor, yang menjadi kelebihan yaitu mahasiswa telah mengenal sebagian pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk mendiskusikan skenario (item 18). Evaluasi oleh mahasiswa didapatkan bahwa skenario menunjukkan hubungan jelas dengan profesi di masa depan merupakan kelebihan dari skenario PBL yang digunakan di FK Unsrat (item 13). Simpulan: Skenario PBL di FK Unsrat masih memerlukan perbaikan. Didapatkan beberapa aspek yang diidentifikasi sebagai kekuatan dan kelemahan yang dapat dipakai untuk meningkatakan kualitas skenario PBL di FK Unsrat.Kata kunci: Problem Based Learning, scenario PBL, tutorial PBL

Abstract

Abstract: The graduation rate of the Computer Based Test (CBT) in Competency Test for Medical Student Profession Program (UKMPPD) of Medical Faculty, Sam Ratulangi University is still below 50% so far. Therefore, the Medical Faculty of Sam Ratulangi University makes various efforts to increase their graduation rate, inter alia implementation of local Try Out (TO) test as a filtering test required before the CBT UKMPPD. This study was aimed to find out whether there was a correlation between the local TO test score and the CBT UKMPPD score. This was a descriptive analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Data of this study were the local TO test score and the CBT UKMPPD score of the Medical Faculty of Sam Ratulangi University. The data were analyzed with the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there was a significant correlation (P=0.028) between the local TO test score and the CBT UKMPPD score with a very weak positive correlation value (r= 0.199). Conclusion: There was a significant correlation between the local TO test score and the CBT UKMPPD score.Keywords: TO, CBT, UKMPPD Abstrak: Angka kelulusan Computer Based Test (CBT) Ujian Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter (UKMPPD) Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sam Ratulangi (FK Unsrat) Manado masih berada di bawah 50%. Pihak FK Unsrat melakukan berbagai upaya agar angka kelulusan UKMPPD FK Unsrat meningkat, salah satunya yaitu dengan mengadakan ujian Try Out (TO) lokal sebagai ujian penyaring yang wajib diikuti sebelum CBT UKMPPD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara nilai ujian TO lokal dengan nilai CBT UKMPPD. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif analitik dengan ddesain potong lintang. Data penelitian ialah nilai ujian TO lokal dan CBT UKMPPD FK Unsrat. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan hubungan bermakna (P=0,028) antara nilai ujian TO lokal dengan nilai CBT dengan tingkat keeratan positif yang sangat lemah (r=0,199). Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan bermakna antara nilai ujian TO lokal dengan nilai CBT UKMPPD.Kata kunci: TO, CBT, UKMPPD
