Abstract

Abstract: The Research about application ofcooperative learning modelbermain jawabanhas beendonetoimprove student’s achievementon the topic ofnomenclature of compounds and chemical equations at 10th of SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru November 2013. This research is experimental research based on pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of two classes, X.7classas control classandX.5classas experiment class that randomly selected after testing homogeneity. Cooperative learning model bermain jawaban applied in X.5. Analysis of data used t-test. Results of data processing obtainedtcount>ttable (4,04> 1,66). It means that the application of cooperative learning model bermain jawaban can improve student’s achievement on the topic of nomenclature of compounds and chemical equations at10th of SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru. The improvement of student’s achievement in experiment class was supported by N-Gain score 0,79 that included in high category.Keyword :Cooperative Learning, Bermain Jawaban, Nomenclature of Compounds and Chemical Equations

Abstract

Isolation, characterization, and in vitro testing against murine leukemia P-388 cell of flavonoid compounds from Bauhinia hullettii Prain stem bark have beenperformed. Isolation was carried out by extraction and fractionation. Extraction usedmeceration method at room temperature to obtain n-Heksana extract, dicloromethaneextract, and etil acetate extract. Based on phytochemical testing, etil acetate extractcontain flavonoid compounds. Extraxct etil acetate was fractionated by vacumcolumn chromatography, gravitation column chromatography, and flash columnchromatography. The fractionation resulted yellow crystal that having melting pointof 188oC - 189oC. The in vitro testing against murine leukimia P-388 cell of isolatedflavonoid compounds show “medium” activity with IC50 = 22,5 μg/ml.Key word : Bauhinia hullettii Prain, Flavonoid, Murine Leukemia P-388 Cell

Abstract

The research on the development of e-modules on hydrocarbon compound material for agricultural vocational school education units aims to develop e-modules that are in accordance with the demands of the agricultural vocational curriculum. This study used a research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which only consists of 3 stages, namely analysis, design and development. The object of research was the e-module on the material of hydrocarbon compounds. The research subjects were 3 educators who taught chemistry subjects at the Agricultural Vocational School and 23 Agricultural Vocational Schools students. Data collection was done through validation sheets and response questionnaires. The results showed that the e-module developed was very valid or very feasible to be tested in the field with an overall average percentage value of material validation of 91.69% and an overall average percentage of media validation of 94.13%. Based on the results of the test, the response of educators obtained an average percentage of 85.18% with the very good category and the results of the students' responses obtained an average percentage of 72.72% with the attractive category. Thus it can be concluded that the e-module of hydrocarbon compounds is very good and interesting to be applied in the learning process on a larger scale.

Abstract

Pentacyclic triterpenoid, betulinic acid (1) and phenolic, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), had been isolated for the first time from the stem bark of Vitex pubescens Vahl. The structure of compounds 1 and 2 was determined based on the interpretation of spectroscopic data including UV, IR, NMR (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, HMBC, COSY) and MS, as well as by comparison with those reported data.
