Abstract

The food price data used was obtained from literature studies which include main food ingredients such as rice, beef, chicken, eggs, red onions, red chili pepper and cooking oil. The linear regression method is used to model the relationship between the independent variable (year) and the dependent variable (food prices), with the aim of predicting future food prices based on historical data. Although linear regression can provide fairly accurate food price estimates, improvements in prediction models can be achieved by incorporating other analysis methods such as time series analysis or machine learning. The implications of this research highlight the importance of effective policy planning to maintain food price stability and ensure sufficient food availability for the community. Future research could involve more in-depth analysis of the factors influencing food prices, as well as the development of more sophisticated prediction models to support decision-making in agriculture and food. This research aims to analyze food prices in the Northern region of Sumatra Province during the period 2022 to 2024 using the linear regression method. The results show that rice, meat, chicken meat, chicken eggs, shallots, red chilies and edible oils all increased, but only chicken meat, shallots and edible oils also experienced a decrease.

Abstract

This study focuses on the use of halogen lamps in the design of a Solar Test Simulator to simulate sunlight conditions in testing solar panels. Halogen lamps are chosen as the light source due to their ability to approximate the solar spectrum, enabling testing of solar cells in a controlled laboratory environment. However, precise adjustment of halogen lamp light is crucial to ensure the accuracy and consistency of test results. The design of the Solar Test Simulator for Solar Panels involves configuring the placement of solar panels so that the designed tool can provide simulation based on actual solar panel measurements. The performance of solar panels is displayed through a monitor placed in the design, providing comprehensive information about the solar panels. Limitations in the placement of solar panels do not provide reference regarding measurement conditions based on the angle of incoming sunlight. Therefore, further design is needed concerning the positioning of solar panels during measurements. The development in this tool's design includes adjustments to the height of the halogen lamp from the solar panel, specifically at heights of 0.328m, 0.366m, and 0.405m.

Abstract

Medan is the third-largest city in Indonesia, so Medan has various kinds of relics used as tourist attractions. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a fall in the number of tourist visits and the lack of promotional facilities for potential tourists who will visit. The important circumstances of the conditions that encourage the development of City Tourism Empowerment in the Era of Society 5.0 based on Virtual Reality as one of the researchers' efforts in developing new tourism concepts during a pandemic by using the research method used are the combination method. The survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to determine the public's perception of VR technology for tourism, especially designing Virtual Reality 3600, using the 6-stage MDCL design model in building VR applications. It was determining the correct hotspot, switching interfaces, and display flow that made it easy. The application results were then tested as VR-based tourism content in Medan city tourism to get a response time value of <1 second and a UAT value of 94% from 20 users from 18-50 years of age.

Abstract

IOT devices is connected using various method. Two of most commonly used methods are websocket and HTTP Api. According to the results of the test, number of loads and data size can increase the time duration for each communication method either websocket or HTTP api. Api and websocket has a wider range usage and large data transfer. API and websocket is more preferred than other method as these methods is easy to implement and the server configuration is not complicated. API is most common as the protocol is HTTP that can be setup by using common hosting service. Incontrolling IOT devices, response time is very important. Delay in sending message may cause bad user experience as user may think that the devices might be malfunction. In this research we measured the time needed to control an IOT devices using HTTP using API protocol and websocket. Base on our research, The process between pushing the controller button and the IOT devices execute the task is faster when using the websocket while using the HTTP. Websocket is much better option in data exchange than the HTTP api. The average time of websocket in data exchange between the server and IOT devices is between 554-711 mili second while the average time of HTTP api is between 2.7-4.5 second. This test is done by calculating the round trip of the process, thus the process in the IOT devices where the data is processed is included and measured.

Abstract

Brail is a written mode of communication utilized by individuals with visual impairments to engage in interpersonal exchanges. The braille writing system consists of patterns printed on specialized paper that feature embossed dots. Braille documents enable the visually impaired to acquire knowledge and information exclusively through the application of their sense of contact. Comprehending braille is not a simple undertaking, particularly for the general populace. Because braille is not a required subject in Indonesian education, the majority of the population lacks proficiency in the language. This may therefore result in a minor communication barrier between visually impaired individuals and non-impaired individuals. In order to address this challenge, the present study employs digital image processing via the deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) technique to facilitate comprehension of braille document contents by non-braille speakers. This study employs a deep learning technique that is highly accurate, effective at image processing, and capable of recognizing complex patterns. This study employed the following image processing methods: grayscaling, filtering, contrast enhancement, thresholding, morphological operation, and resizing. Following testing in this investigation, it was determined that the proposed method accurately identifies embossed braille images with a precision of 99.63%.

Abstract

In order for the designed tool to simulate solar panel measurements based on real-world conditions, the solar panel placement holder was arranged in a specific way during the design process. A monitor display that is mounted on the design will show the effectiveness of the solar panels and provide general solar panel information. Limitations in the positioning of solar panels will not provide a reference to conditions for measurement depending on the angle of incidence of the sun so further design needs to be done regarding the position of solar panels when measurements are taken. The development carried out in the design of this tool is in the form of adjusting the solar panel holder in the form of a solar panel holder tilt of 0°, 90°, 180°, and a distance of 30 cm halogen lamp as an energy source that is measured. Measurement results based on design, temperature 46°C, and 100% light.
