Abstract

Benzene is a pollutant chemical environment and leukomogen factor. One?s of the effect is decrease leukocytes concentration because benzene can attack the enzyme topoisomerasse II in the bone marrow. The composition of Andrographis paniculata are deoxyndragrapholid, andrographolid, 14- deoxy-11, neoandrogapholid, 12- didehydroandrographolide, homoandrographolide, diterpenoid, and flavonoid, and the function is immunostimulan. This research aimed to prove that Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate can increase leukocytes concentration caused inhalation exposure benzene. This subject are 25 Wistar strain male rats were divided into five groups; normal control (K0), benzene exposure control (K1), benzene exposure+Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate 0,15 ml (P1), benzene exposure+Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate 0,3 ml (P2) and benzene exposure+Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate 0,45 ml (P3). Exposure benzene for 6 hours per day on 6 days and giving Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate for 7 days. Counting leukocytes concentration uses a haemocytometer. Analysis of the data with One-Way ANOVA and LCD at 5 % level test. The result K1 decreased to 3063 cells/mm3 (thit(2.149)>ttab(2.02)), P1  increased to 6873 cells/mm3 (thit(2.709)>ttab(2.02)); P2 7627 cells/mm3 (thit(2.420)>ttab(2.02)); P3 8803 cells/mm3 (thit(2.124)>ttab(2.02)). The analysis revealed Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate can increase leukocytes concentration (Fhit (648.18)>Ftab (2.87), LSD (222.23). The conclution of this research that Andrographis paniculata leaf filtrate can increase leukocytes level benzene exposure.

Abstract

The main symptom of  diabetes mellitus is an increase of blood glucose concentration, therefore it can be decreased using natural substances. The research aimed to the combination of Caesalpania sappan  L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquids can decrease the concentration  of blood glucose in Mus musculus. This research used  pre-post-test design with RAL. The subjects were 24 Mus musculus of BALB/cAnN strain. The chemical subtance used to increase the concentration  of blood glucose was 1 cc/kgBB of dextrose monohydrate 5 %. The animals were devided into 6 groups that are threated by giving: 1) aquades (KK); 2) Caesalpania sappan L wood liquid  100% (KP1); 3) Aloe vera leaves liquid 100%  (KP2); 4) combination  of Caesalpania sappan L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquid 20% (KP3); 5) combination of Caesalpania sappan L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquid 40% (KP4); 6) combination  of Caesalpania sappan L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquid  60% (KP5). The concentration  of blood glucose was measured using glico test. The data gained were analyzed using T test and One-Way ANOVA at 5% of level test. After giving dextrose monohydrate the glucose concentration of all samples was 160,75 mg/dl.The results of this research shows that the decrease of glucose concentration of   KP1 was 123,75 mg/dl; KP2 was 120,25 mg/dl; KP3 was  118,5 mg/dl; KP4 was 115,75 mg/dl; and  KP5 was 109,75 mg/dl. The analysis result revealed that combination of  Caesalpania sappan L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquids can decrease of the concentration  of blood glucose in  Mus musculus (Fcount (3,499) > Ftable (1,83) with sig value < 0,05) and (tcount (10,939) > ttable  (1,714)) with sig value  < 0,05) . It can be concluded that the combination of Caesalpania sappan  L wood and Aloe vera leaves liquids can decrease the concentration  of blood glucose in Mus musculus.

Abstract

This research was carried out to prove that the katuk leaves filtrate can improves sperm quality and the concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA) as an indicator of free radicals is lower. The subjects of this reaserch were 60 male mice that were divided into 5 groups; Ko (normal control), K1 (exposured cigarette smoke control), P1 (exposed to cigarrete smoke and given katuk leaves filtrate 2 ml/100 gBW/day), P2 (exposed to cigarette smoke and given katuk leaves filtrate 2.5 ml/100 gBW/day), and P3 (exposed to cigrette smoke and given katuk leaves filtrate 3 ml / 100 gBW/hari). The results showed that katuk leaves filtrate can increase (P <0.05) the concentrations (> 80 million / ml) and normal morphology but the wasn?t difference (P <0.05).
