Abstract

This study investigates the critical role that Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers play in enhancing student motivation at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Mubarok. The research adopts a qualitative approach, employing interviews, observations, and document analysis to gather data from both teachers and students. The study reveals that IRE teachers at Al Mubarok play multifaceted roles as instructors, facilitators, and motivators, which are integral in fostering a conducive learning environment. The research emphasizes the importance of religious practices, such as weekly prayer sessions and daily sholawat recitations, in building a spiritual foundation that supports students' academic and moral development. Additionally, the study highlights the teachers’ use of various instructional media and interactive teaching methods that cater to the diverse needs of students, thereby significantly enhancing their engagement and motivation. The findings suggest that teachers who effectively balance religious instruction with motivational strategies can significantly influence students’ enthusiasm for learning and overall academic performance. This study provides valuable insights for educators aiming to improve student motivation and suggests practical applications for enhancing the effectiveness of religious education in secondary schools.
