Abstract

Ikhtisar: Bisa dikatakan bahwa pers membentuk sejarah dan sejarah juga membentuk pers itu sendiri. Pers berperan dalam menyampaikan berbagai informasi tentang peristiwa di sebuah negara-bangsa. Ia sebagai alat komunikasi, penyampai ide, dan buah pikiran seseorang atau kelompok tertentu kepada orang atau kelompok lain. Pers, khususnya surat kabar, merupakan fenomena penting pada masa pergerakan nasional di Indonesia. Pers pergerakan terdiri dari pers Belanda, pers Tionghoa, dan pers Bumiputera. Khusus tentang pers Tionghoa, secara umum dipandang mampu memberi inspirasi bagi perkembangan kesadaran berbangsa di kalangan warga keturunan Tionghoa di Hindia Belanda (Indonesia sekarang). Pers Tionghoa pun berpotensi membangkitkan kesadaran kolektif, yang menjurus kepada upaya membangkitkan kesadaran kaum Tionghoa tentang arti pentingnya “nasionalisme”. Karenanya melalui pers, keterlibatan etnis Tionghoa ke dalam dinamika pergerakan nasional Indonesia secara sadar telah menjadi bagian dari masyarakat Indonesia yang terus bergerak dalam mencari dan menemukan jati dirinya sebagai bangsa Indonesia.Kata kunci: Pers, surat kabar, etnik Tionghoa, nasionalisme Indonesia, dan sejarah pergerakan nasional.Abstract: It can be said that press creates the history and, vice versa, history constructs the press. Press has a role in delivering various informations about the events in a nation-state. It is as communication tool, the conveyor of ones or particular groups idea or thought to other. Press, especially newspaper, is an important phenomenon in the period of national movement in Indonesia. The press concerned with national movement in that era was that of Dutch, Chinese, and “Bumiputera” (Indonesian people). Specifically for Chinese press, it is generally assumed to be able to give inspiration for the development of national awareness among Chinese descendants in Dutch East Indies (Indonesia nowadays). The Chinese press is potential in inspiring collective awareness that leads to the effort of generating Chinese people awareness about the importance meaning of "nationalism". Abstract

Early education in independent Indonesia become one of the important aspects to foster the spirit of nationalism and promoting the ideals of independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesian government attention newborn and some of the figures revolutionist who realized that education is very important to foster the spirit of nationalism and efforts to create awareness of an independent nation. Based on the subjects of education and new teaching drafted by the Committee of Inquiry Teaching goals and educational foundation and a system of schooling that characterizes to Indonesiaan. Organization of Indonesian Teachers Association, as a teachers Indonesian container that has been since the days of the Dutch East Indies. Since the proclamation of PGRI organization establishes itself as a fighter who helped defend the independence and sovereignty of Indonesia NKRI. This organization is a manifestation of the Indonesian teacher in taking part and responsibility in accordance with his profession as an educator for the independence aspired. The organization therefore seen as a unifier of teachers who are: 1) a unitary, 2) independent, 3) non-political. It is also a tool, a vehicle in the interests of the teachers for their professional development, education in general and devotion to the homeland and the nation. Keywords: History of education; nationalism; Indonesian revolution; PGRI

Abstract

Character education is a learning model that aims to introduce character values to students, which include the value of love for God and His creation, responsibility, honesty, fairness, mutual respect and courtesy, caring, cooperation, confidence, creative and innovative, hard work, never give up, tolerance, love peace, and love unity. Character education is basically designed and implemented to help students understand the character values in humans individually (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor), or even in the context of their socio-cultural interactions (family, school, community and nation). This study attempts to describe the theoretical basis of character education as a basis for learning, especially in the learning of the Social Studies field of History in Elementary Schools, by referring to the perspective of JW Foster, Thomas J. Lickona, and Erich Fromm. With the results of this study, at least the basic similarities and differences can be described in placing the context of character education as the basis for character education development in accordance with the principles of education in Indonesia which are knowledgeable and ethical.

Abstract

Philosophy in educational management provides a philosophical basis for how the real management of education is built on the basis of a strong scientific perspective. A philosophical basis is needed in educational management or educational science experts in order to develop their knowledge productively and responsibly. The analysis is needed to explain how the ontological, epistemological and axiological workings of the science are developed. In this study, John Dewey's philosophy of pragmatism can at least provide theoretical reinforcement to the pragmatism-based philosophy of management education that he developed. Dewey's pragmatism philosophy can at least provide a theoretical foundation for how to understand the context of education, which has to do with the human process in finding answers to life based on their experiences. That, in the process of discovery, efforts to understand the close relationship between action and thought, between experiment and reflection are based on scientific principles. From here, the criteria for academic truth through education are seen as having uses for real human life.
