Abstract

Background: Patients with diabetes mellitus have a 15% risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers. Diabetic foot ulcers will not occur if people with diabetes have the knowledge and are willing to take care of their feet regularly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education on knowledge , attitude and prevention of diabetic foot ulcers . Method : Quasy experiment research design pre test - post test control group design. The sample was DM patients who visited the Muliorejo Health Center, the sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample size of 20 people in the treatment group and 20 people in the control group. The independent variable is health education, the dependent variable is knowledge, attitudes and preventive measures for diabetic foot ulcers. Data collection by questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney Test. Results : The results showed: there was an effect of health education on knowledge (p= 0.000), attitudes (p= 0.000) and actions (p= 0.000) in preventing diabetic foot ulcers. Discussion : Health education as an effort to persuade people with DM to be responsible for their health by first increasing their knowledge and attitudes. Future research should use more reliable but simple instruments to measure knowledge and avoid measurement bias.

Abstract

Environmental factors primarily influence the degree of public health. However, what is happening in today's society in improving the degree of health is even higher in health services. Many people receive curative treatment in health facilities but pay little attention to personal and environmental hygiene. The problems in Nagari Paninggahan are the need for more knowledge and awareness of the Paninggahan community in waste management, non-communicable diseases, rational use of drugs, and personal hygiene. This activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness to improve the health status of the Paninggahan community. This activity was carried out using health promotion methods and practices and through leaflets. The results were that people could use used goods to make new, more valuable goods, understand that diseases such as hypertension must be appropriately handled with routine checks, know how to use the right medicines and practice proper hand washing to avoid various diseases. This activity hopes to increase public knowledge and awareness to avoid disease and improve the health status of the Paninggahan community.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is an imbalance of the hormone progesterone in the blood, causing pain to arise, psychological factors also play a role in the occurrence of dysmenorrhea in some women. Women have experienced dysmenorrhea as much as 90%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of dysmenorrhea is around 55% among productive ages. This problem affects at least 50% of women during their reproductive years and 60-85% in their teens, which results in many absenteeism at school and work. In general, 50-60% of women require analgesic drugs. The problem with partners in the community in Muliorejo, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, is that the knowledge of adolescents in Muliorejo village regarding dysmenorrhea is still low, many adolescents who experience ysmenorrheado not know about efforts to reduce pain from non-pharmacological aspects. The targets of this community service activity are teenagers aged 12-22 years, totaling 40 who are in a state of signs of dysmenorrhea symptoms in Muliorejo Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The results of this community service are 40 respondents who have been trained in giving hot bladders, there are 35 respondents who have good knowledge about how to deal with dysmenorrhea with non-pharmacological treatment and 5 respondents have sufficient knowledge. The conclusion of this activity is that the knowledge of adolescents in Muliorejo Village about dysmenorrhea in Adolescents is getting better, Youth in Muliorejo Village have been trained about giving hot bladders to reduce dysmenorrhea, By training teenagers about giving hot bladders to reduce dysmenorrhea they can do it independently when dealing with dysmenorrhea. Suggestions for the youth of Muliorejo Village to often reading the leaflets that are shared or information from health services about dysmenorrhea, often re-demonstrating the provision of hot bladders to reduce dysmenorrhea, coordinating with cadres about the technique of giving hot bladders.Keywords: hot bladder, dysmenorrhea
